No surprise, their trademark series as the title for the xbox whatever

It'd make more sense for it to be exclusive to the next console, otherwise they won't get so many jumping over to it as most will stick with he 360 version. Making it 720 exclusive would piss a lot of people off since it was announced for 360.

Its the same as the nintendo or sony, they need the same trademark series to grad the attention of the ones that love it

We already know that this is a 360 release. They would make significantly less money if this was not an Xbox 360 game.

The writer for the article is making the assumption that the next-gen Xbox (can't be bothered to call it the 720) is going to release later this year, which seems highly unlikely as the home console hasn't even been officially revealed. They need to set aside the time to market their product as well as the launch titles.

So while Halo will no doubt continue to be the flagship title for Microsoft's next-gen console, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be Halo 4. Like Aaron mentioned earlier, the game was already announced for the Xbox 360.

They could shift development of the game over to the next-gen Xbox but at the cost of delaying the release. I doubt there will be two versions for the game. Either the Xbox 360 version sells really well and the next-gen Xbox version doesn't sell nearly enough or it ends up being the other way around.

Pretty sure the most reliable rumor at the moment pegs a joint MS/Nintendo title as being a 720 launch title. Mario Kinect.

Throwing this out there.

Some sort of patch at launch (probably on the hard drive that comes with the machine that allows for some better textures).

Its kinda of what hey did with Halo 2 for the 360.
But a launch title, no I dont think so.

You remember them talking about a different version of backwards compatibility? Where it takes older games and makes them better? I vaguely seem to recall something like that.

Would be prettty awesome.

I could see this being released on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox 3 at the same time. I wish it would happen this year, but most likely won't :(

Weren't they talking about this forward compatibility thing they might try with Halo 4 at one point, at least:confused: Something like what they did with Halo Anniversary only the other way around, so to speak?? That would technically make it the very first 'Xbox 720' game even if it come out long before the console get revealed

that would be smarth for MS to do this they will sell a ton of 720s

that would be smarth for MS to do this they will sell a ton of 720sI believe the opposite, the "smart thing to do" I mean.

Halo is a front loaded game, it needs to come out when 5-6-7 million people can buy it and PLAY IT!!!. There will not be over 5 million 720's available at launch to satisfy all those wanting Halo 4. Those games are all about getting to the top and remaining there and that feat is much harder to achieve if you are late to the party. Just imagine someone coming in 3-4 months late because the console was unavailable due to demand being high and supply being low. MS would piss off a lot of Halo franchise fans that way. It COULD be a 3-4 month launch window game, but not a launch game.

Unless of course, as some suggested, the game is "forward compatible" and can be purchased for both 360 and 720. In that case, the game would probably beat Halo sales records as people who purchase the 360 version would later purchase the 720 version as it becomes available (unless the upgrade is included which would be very unlikely coming from MS, but anything is possible I guess)
