CCP has released a second Welcome to New Eden dev diary for DUST 514. The video features producer Thomas Farrer and art director Richard Dimond discussing the game’s mercenary soldiers, and the fitting system which allows players to equip and utilize various armor sets and weapons on the battlefield.

Yeah I'm ready. Oddly reminds me of Halo as far as the HUD and everything looks. Looks like it will be a sweet game.

Yeah it's free but you have to pay for gear and stuff with real money...if I'm not mistaken. Don't know the full details but I know real money is used at some point.

You can buy armor and weapons with real money but its complete optional and the stats are no better then the normal credit models you get from earning money in matchs

Yeah I believe that CCP have stressed that those that purchase whatever with real money won't have better gear/weapons than those who choose not to pay. Be interesting to see how it all works out

As long as it isn't P2W, I suppose its alright. Never been a huge fan of microtransactions. I'm probably the minority who would still rather pay a subscription charge for MMOs.
