Lol you're taking this too serious with the I can't say much because of the agreement don't you think? But it's quite alright, there will be plenty of info and videos out there once the closed beta starts.

Oh man, we got a deep dive into Dust with some of the devs at the CCP booth... DAMN what a crazy game. I'm certainly going to dive in on this and go deep. Sounds like it could be unreal.
What is the general feeling of the PSU community? Do you guys think this game is going to take off?

I'm really excited for it, and that says a lot about the game because I'm normally not a fan of FPS's. At all.
How strict is the NDA? I just want to know how it feels to play. I want to avoid fast-paced CoD shooters. I like tactical gameplay, teamwork, strategy, all that sort of thing.

BEST part is that it is completely free. Free to download, free to play. So it doesn't have to sell, people just have to give it a try.

We're going to do our best to get some codes for the staff and *maybe* the community if we're super lucky. We'll be sure to pipe out a good stream of content as it is available. We have been talking with CCP and they want to do their best to really communicate with the core PlayStation community, and PSU is the perfect place for that.

i hope so, but MAG show that ppl im masses more press followers this gen and Dust fate is in the hands of press. i love the Dust beta!! it gave me freedom to make my char in my way, but not in way developers decide.

That is exactly our sentiment, and we're going to do absolutely everything we can to get the PSU staff on board with this thing. We actually partied with the CCP staff last night (until way too late) and we managed to convince them to give us all beta codes as we want to go deep on this as the PSU staff.
They are amazingly accommodating, and exceptionally intelligent people. I back this big... even if the rest of the guys don't manage to get as into it as I am. ;)
So you PSUers that are going to go dust... lets fucking GO.

where the game really shines though is in the chracter progression and the variety of weapons, vehicles, skills, etc. Can't wait to try it out.

So sweet that there's a vita companion app. There will be a lot of management of assets and such that you'll have to get into if you want to go deep on this, so tweaking things on the vita while on the go will be perfect.
Definitely do hope it becomes playable on the vita though... that would be next level.

I'm very interested in this. I'm interested in seeing how it affects Eve Online (where I also have a character since 2004). I was hoping to get a beta through my eve online account, alas, no such luck. Never known CCP do anything by half though so I expect big things

No closed beta = internal+ few others open beta = internal+ invites and public= no code

Just got myself a code via the PS Home E3 event. Was pretty damn easy, albeit a little time-consuming. You're going to want to complete all 12 of the E3 trivia quizzes/fetch quests, then head on over to the DUST area.
Once inside, watch all 4 of the videos, then head on over to the Slay game. You don't even have to win in order to receive a code, just keep pressing L1 until its over, then go back to the video section and you should see your code.

You'd be surprised to know how much EVE players are actually scared that Dust 514 might shake things up too much. But CCP knows this, and is still building the game to be extraordinarily bad-ass.
This is what I love about CCP: they pull out the most ridiculous, hard to achieve ideas, and are still super confident that they can not only get those ideas working, but make them profitable.

My concern was that DUST would take the focus off of EVE, in terms of updates/expansion packs/etc.

When DUST comes out there will be 15 threads that will slate it to death (as there are with ANY change in Eve, minor or otherwise) and 2.5k replies in each, every other one of which will be "Can I have your stuff"
Six months after it's out all the detractors will have moved on to something else (some ship attracting attention for a nerf because it's too uber in some way) and people will be filling the forums with a truckload of enhancement requests in patch updates.
The only thing more more flakey than mining for ICE in null sec are the Eve players themselves (yeah I'm one so I'm included in that generalisation). Sometimes there's more drama outside of Eve than in it lol

I haven't managed to get my head around it all yet and I couldn't even reliably fire the weapon you get as a Shock trooper. Such a fucking dullard I am. Love that the menu icons and features are almost the same as they in Eve

Not that I'm aware of. It seems quite limited at the moment. Having said that, I haven't had time to really sink my claws into it yet. I've played a few rounds, will get into it again this weekend and leave CCP some feedback.

I remember seeing it at E3 last year. I was shocked that a console game would have such integration with a PC game and that it would be free. Then there were a few trailers out for it which showed the whole commercial merc side of it, where you have to buy all your stuff and I knew something funky was brewing haha.
The beta is quite rough at the moment. it is very laggy for me, and the aiming feels a little stiff. I haven't tweaked the options though so I may just need to sort the sensitivity. The merc hub that you have is cool, your lil dorm where you can sort all your shit out.
For a free game I think Dust is the shit. I look forward to seeing it grow and develop over the years.

You don't actually have to win a game of Slay to get a code. All you have to do is lose a game of Slay, watch all four videos and bam, you have a code.

Nope. You can redeem it now and start playing, but I'd recommend that you wait till June 29th for the E3 build because all player progress prior to the E3 build is going to be wiped out. Not to mention that things like bugs, hit detection, and lag will be fixed. New weapons and skills are going to be added as well. But if you can't hold your excitement, you can start playing the beta now.

Are they just recyling beta codes now or are these not PSN store codes? I did all this before, without knowing they were out of codes, and I had all Xs instead of a code. Went back on recently and had a code, was told its invalid when I tried to redeem it. Did it all just now on my alt and same thing, got a code that doesnt work.
Edit: tried it randomly, seems it takes a bit to activate or something cause it worked this time.

It's not an open beta, it's just that the beta build is moving up to the build from E3, and yes, more codes will be handed out.

If you buy the Mercenary pack on the psn store you will have guarantee access to all future betas and some nice dlc extras along with some Aurum.

The dlc you get is for the full game, you get some armour, a weapon and aurum is used as currency on the auction house

True i guess, but as game is free to download and play i did it anyway lol espically when it says dropsuit has unlimited uses because those things cost a fortune to upkeep, you normally lose the things your using everytime you die.
Don't waste your money! I just came back from playing for a few hours and am not impressed at all with the game.
The amount of ammo it takes to kill someone is flat out ridiculous and a real game breaker for me. Sometimes, you find yourself hastily sprinting around a rock with your opponent for what feels like minutes until one of you is unlucky enough to get stuck and killed in the process.
You literally have to fire an insane amount of bullets into your enemy before he dies. It really is no fun at all for me at this point.
And I'm not even talking about the unstable framerate, the clunky controls or the unspectacular graphics...

i never noticed fights like that. in most cases you die extremely fast,or maybe its my luck ))

Yeah EVE has some of the most dedicated players of any MMO out. You know that actually play and don't bitch constantly about things that are wrong with the game, like WOW.

Right now, Dust 514 isn't doing it for me. For a F2P game, it isn't bad. It's a solid first-person shooter and I'm sure if I took the time to get good at it, I'd invest a decent amount of time into it. How I see Dust 514 really depends on what I'm comparing it to. If we're comparing it to other F2P games, it's looking pretty good right about now. But when we're comparing it to other first-person shooters, it doesn't stack up too well, aside from being free.
I plan to play some more of the closed beta to get a more informed opinion on it, and it's very possible that my perception of the game will completely change after spending some more time with it, but right now I just don't think Dust 514 is going to be able to reach its full potential. It's reminiscent of MAG.

I was very excited for this but after playing the beta briefly I'm not feeling it, I'll still check it out on release but as someone said, it ain't a patch on regular FPS games as far as graphics, sound and dynamics go.
Ok so you upgrade your gun so you can kill faster but talk about putting off first time players!! It felt like I needed the whole magazine for 1 kill.
I enjoy sci fi and all but the sidearm that shoots yellow curvy lazers felt so weak, no kick, terrible sound and visuals and any rumble?
So yeah I ain't that impressed.
