TBH, the thing that excites me the most is finally being able to install the entire game in one go. I can finally jump to my favorite parts of the story without having to reinstall them !! :D

Yeah, it should be that way, assuming that every other game works that way. Here's hoping that Konami didn't do something with Konami IDs...

I also thought that was a bit weird..maybe it used to take longer because of the way it was split up.

EDIT:

I can confirm 34 trophies in total, including a whole bunch of hidden trophies. Don't know if any of the hidden are for completing in Big Boss mode.

You can also now change the install settings in the main menu options. When you first start the game it gives you the option to fully install however you also have to option to install like it used too, or install each chapter individually as you get to them without deleting the old data. I chose to install the whole game in one go.

Am the only one who deleted all their old save data before they started again? Its been nearly 5 years since I played this..starting with a completely new slate.

Might just do and easy or normal playthrough first then to enjoy the experience again and get the other trophies first then.

Also, just checked the Game Data. The entire game installed is 9089MB (9GB).

im not sure but on PS Trophy forum They said to Delete Both Files so you don't Invalidate your Game, I think you're Right Though ,but I deleted mine just to be Sure.

Pro tip: Don't forget to check the Nomad at each briefing with the MkII for extra battery cells for your Solid Eye and MkII and other goodies. :D

Yeah the full install only offers a more seemless game with no act installations that breaks up the game. Makes the game much better than it was before if that were even possible.

I just ran through the game already on easy. It's amazing how much you forget when you haven't played a game in years.

lol I was going for a Centipede playthrough on Solid Normal, but then thought "Fuck it' il Harvest a shit load of Drebin points from the Infinate Spawning Militia at the Drum Can Section and get some Trophies too (So iv'e Gotten 10 Trophies from Act 1 so far) (Holding up a PMC soldier with a Gun was my First Trophy)

FYI, (edit: I think...) you can kill the beast mode with normal ammo, just use non lethal when the beauty comes out. I'm sure that's how I did it, but maybe that is just for the no kills aspect of BB emblem. :)

The trophies are starting to come in fast and steady now, just got the trophy for the Laughing Octopus Doll and making her Beauty form dance to the song on the iPod. (Didn't know about that in my original playthrough. :lol:)

I played Demon's Souls 5 times (though only took 3-1/2 to get the Plat), so I could probably do 8 plays if I want the MGS4 Platinum badly enough. Does look difficult, though...less than 5-hr. playtime with no kills, healing, continues or alerts? Yeesh.

just the second form has to be beaten non lethal to get no kills. When she is in full costume, or all teh beasts for taht matter, open fire and kick ass. When she leaves the costume, thats when you need to switch.

I'm just having my fun and relaxing playthrough now. I have a few trophies but the main aim of this one is to get solar gun. My next playthrough will be for the BBE. Once I get that out the way (for a 2nd time lol) the rest will be a cake walk. Kojima was such a fucking troll with the ipod trophy, knowing full well you had to get all emblems haha. You forgot on Big Boss Extreme lol, but the trophy for that is the Ipod songs, you'll need the BBE to get the last ipod song and the FaceCamo(I think.)

I'm going for the Pigeon no-kill emblem on this first playthrough because I find it to be more fun & challenging than just shooting everyone, plus it's just how I want my Snake to be. I've been trying to do the no-alert emblem, too, but after 6 tries at the end of Act 1's Middle East/Downtown area I think I'm gonna give up on that goal. It's starting to drain the thrilling fun out of the game.

I started the chicken emblem last night I'm up to the start of Act 3 with about 12 hours played and I already feel like I'm just sitting around doing nothing for large parts of the game. I'm most likely going to leave it on over night on the pause screen or something towards the end cause I doubt I'll be able to go on for 35 hours otherwise. I'm also trying to clear up a few other emblems in the process of the chicken emblem run.

Seriously though, if someone ever got Chicken Emblem on this game they must be incredibly shit !! I spent almost an hour earlier dying 50 times to get the 50 continues for it !! :lol: Not sure I have enough alerts yet though.

I also got the kills and headshots out of the way for other emblems at this part too as they keep respawning at that hill with the MG at the left.

The only thing I have to do now is to continue 50 times before the end of the game (and play for 35 hours.. god) and I know exactly how I'm going to get that out of the way. I'm going to shoot Meryl 50 times during the Mantis fight. That does work right?

I'm not sure how many emblems I have got through or will get through but I'm hoping to get most of the ridiculously time consuming ones out of the way. Like, crawling for ages, crouch walking for ages, hiding in box/drum for ages, etc.

edit: Anybody got any tips on the quickest way to get 50 continues from Act 3 and onwards? If my plan above isn't the quickest way I'd like to know of it.. after I accomplish that I'm leaving my PS3 on all night and all day to get rid of the last 20 or so hours before finishing up the remaining possible emblems that I have on my radar.

The only thing I have to do now is to continue 50 times before the end of the game (and play for 35 hours.. god) and I know exactly how I'm going to get that out of the way. I'm going to shoot Meryl 50 times during the Mantis fight. That does work right?

I'm not sure how many emblems I have got through or will get through but I'm hoping to get most of the ridiculously time consuming ones out of the way. Like, crawling for ages, crouch walking for ages, hiding in box/drum for ages, etc.

edit: Anybody got any tips on the quickest way to get 50 continues from Act 3 and onwards? If my plan above isn't the quickest way I'd like to know of it.. after I accomplish that I'm leaving my PS3 on all night and all day to get rid of the last 20 or so hours before finishing up the remaining possible emblems that I have on my radar.

I dunno, but really messed up by leaving a lot of these emblems til the very end. Not a lot of opportunities in Act 5 to do them. For the 50 continues I just had to let the Frog soldiers kill me over and over at the beginning of Act 5..very tedious.

I got all the alerts out of the way and spent about 4 hours doing it last night in Act 2 right before you meet up with Drebin for a second time and the monkey whips Snakes cigarette off his hand. I also got the kills and headshots out of the way for other emblems at this part too as they keep respawning at that hill with the MG at the left.

Some of the kills came from Act 1: before you meet Meryl, and after about 2hrs or 3 of just grinding down kills/hold ups/knifes, my 2nd location was at the confinement facility. That's where I racked up 12k DP/kill and Did the rest of my kills. lol(I'm up to 2million DP now.). I just finish Killing Raging Raven, this is my stats so far.

I'm on Act 4. Just sitting doing nothing right now. Think I'll leave it on here for a good while (over night most likely).

I found a great way of dying 50 times quickly. Raging Raven boss fight. Just jump off the building 50 times (I did 52 to be sure). Took me about 30 mins.

I'm about 15 hours in so another 20 hours of doing jack shit before I start moving lol.

Sorry for the double post here but I have ran in to an issue.

I left my game on over night and when I returned to it the time had not passed. It was the same time it was when I left it and it's been on for at least 6 hours straight wth snake being hugged up against a wall in the corridor just before the Mantis fight.

Am I unable to waste time like this on Act 5 or something?

The time doesn't update until you go into a new area. ;)

In approximately 1 hour 30 minutes I will finally have my chicken emblem and about 20 other emblems along with it. Thank god.

Got a quick question. I had played the game in 2009 and ended up getting YLOD losing my original game save. I got bored one and instead of started fresh; I had downloaded someone elses game saves with everything completed. If I download this patch will it hinder the game save under my psn ID since you are not allowed to play under someone elses game save since the trophy feature?

Since the patch, i've had the game crash on me 4 different times. 3 of which were at the same spot. I've checked the disk and its perfect on the back. Reader plays other games fine so the only thing that has changed is the patch. Should i report this to someone? can i report it to someone?

Delete the data and reinstall, theres been no reports far as I know

Damn right! Can´t believe how good it actually is. I mean this game is over 4 years old now and still blows visual any competiton away. Konami and especially Hideo have made a fantastic game. Everything seems to life, so much details, so much secrets and little hints. Everytime i play it i´m stunned by deep and possibilities that u have in this game.
