it will likely end up on the ps3 anyways... its published by EA after all.....
I think there hasn't been any official statement from EA for Battlefield2 to land on Next-gen consoles. Or its been confirmed? Because this is the first time I'm hearing about it. BF2:Modern Combat was suppose to come to current-gen consoles.
And I just checked the EA website( http://www.eagames.com/official/battlefield/moderncombat/us/home.jsp ) for BF2:MC and it only says coming to PS2 and Xbox1. Hope it comes to next-gen consoles as well but until official announcement, I say this is only Gamestop trying to fetch some early dough from people who don't know about this.

Not sure, but Gamestop does have it up on their site.

But EA's site could be wrong. I've seen lots of games that were announced over the years that didn't show up on publisher's websites until well after a game release. Publisher sites have been notorious for not being updated that often and for not being 100% accurate. Sad really.
I've heard that Battlefield 2 for 360 is basiclly the Xbox version at 720p. Not a lot of bells and whistles beyond that.
I have the Battlefield 2 demo from OXM and it has 24 player online in the demo.
I'm a huge Ghost Recon fan online, but even the BF2 demo is my new online crack. Can't wait for the final game.
Cons of the demo?
1: Random game lock-ups
2: Lag hiccups (it's the game or servers and not the player's connections. The hiccups have a periodic pattern to them. Happens every few minutes and they last about 1-2 seconds.)
3: EA's servers are down at times. I've heard bad things about EA's servers all over the forums, but never understood why cuz my only EA online game is Burnout 3 and it has had little problems playing for me.
The BF2 demo has proven to me that the EA server bashing had some truth to it. There are times when you can't get on the BF2 demo servers for hours on end.

I just brought Battlefield 2 for the PC and I thought that the game was pretty good. I mean there is lag in the game but its rearly you see it lag too much. The only trouble I was having was with my Graphic Card (ATI x800 XL). I just brought it today and the graphics didnt look to great on it so. The letters looked sloppy and the graphics like I was back in the 1995 with Doom. But after messing with the setting long enough I found that my moniter was the reason everything looked sloppy. I fixed a few things on it and now it looks really smooth. The one thing that was annoying me was the long process of loging into the game to play online plus the control till I learn them.
Recently we've all been hearing about Sony's resolution to ship more Blu-Ray players in the U.S and Blockbuster's decision to give it their full support but we haven’t really seen the consequences of these actions, until now. According to the research firm Digital Entertainment Group, HD-DVD is unable to keep up with the Blu-Ray sales figures, which currently hold a five to one lead.
Warner Bros. senior vice president Steve Nickerson stated that this year "will mirror the year 1999 or 2000 for DVD", believing that consumers are only just scratching the surface of the new high-def DVD category that is becoming more and more readily available.
While it is, as Nickerson suggests, too early to predict outcome of the competition between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, Blu-Ray is certainly enjoying a massive head start that may very well be infallible. The report from DEG shows that 300,000 HD-DVD players have been sold through both stand alone drivers and Xbox 360 attachment drives, a figure which pales in comparison to the circulation of an astounding 1.5 million Blu-Rays. Out of 55 million US dollars consumers spent on high-def DVD titles this year, 35 million were on Blu-Ray titles, a success which appears to be primarily due to the PS3, as only 100,000 Blu-Ray sales have been standalone players.
In light of this furious competition and regardless of its outcome, the home video industry is sure to do very well and hopes for growth in sales: "It's in the very, very early days of our forecasts, but we believe that High-Definition discs will help return consumer video spending to growth" said Helen Davis Jayalath from Screen Digest
