This might sound stupid but...

You know the profile stars? It would be cool if each nwe level you get (ie newbie, trainee, apprentice, member, elite member, veteran, moderater, adminestrator). Or somthing like that...Admins can have gold, mods silver, veterans can get black, elites can have red, members have orange, trainee can have green, and newbies can have the old blue (mwahaha! lol). Take this into consideration, i think it seems pretty cool. Ofcourse, thats just me.

Admins, what do you think?

And one more thing. If its not too much work (as im sure it is, i used to own a website me self, and then the account expired cuz i didnt go on my yahoo account for over 3 years ;)) you can make a special pic on top of the stars for each sl there is. Umm, im short on ideas right now so if no one else posts the pic ideas then i wont bother posting em later.

So?
I know it seems stupid/crazy/hard to do, but take it into consideration alright?

Thanks. :D

Not a bad idea you have thier Dragonlance, would be cool if they do manage to actually implement it

Good work Dragonlance

I like it, the colored stars that is. Or maybe even gain a different color star every time you gain a new star.

I like your idea DragonLance. Rebon and I were talking about the starts today funnily enough. We were thinking that the top posters are nearing 7 stars already and that means we are running out of stars pretty quick, so colours could be a good way to help solve this dilemma. Members could get 'special bonus ranks' after you reach 1,500 posts. Each rank up from Veteran could change colour naturally progressing in a sort of Martial Arts style belt colour system, with Black being the highest, but saving gold and silver for the admin and moderators respectively.

The different colours would start at Veteran Rank and continue all the way up to our top forum rank. Any one with say 35,000 skill level or higher could also choose a custom rank title, but maybe not a custom image, but we will look into that too DragonLance. Thanks for your idea.

What does everyone think?

NP. it seems that some people like it already, but yeah, confirmation from others is important.

EDIT: I have an idea for the pic above the stars, if you want to do it. It can be, for example, a character. And as your skill "level" goes up, so do your stats for the pic. And, err, lets say every 500 or 1000 points you get new accessories. (kinda like diablo ii chars, the further in the game you get, the better the armor.) and there can be special accessories for those that have a sl of over 25000. What do you think?

Edit: I had another idea erlier, see if you like it morph, its under suggestions. "Trivia THREAD". Visit the site there for an example of what i mean.

i agree with everybody on that something in this area need to be done, and i like the general area but i think the specifics need a good thinking though
whatever happens i think there should be more connection between skill level and the rank and/or stars
and maybe there could be 2 lines of say 5 stars or something
needs a good thinking though by you and rebon really. speaking of rebon he hasn’t been on the boards much lately has he, do you know why?

PS3 Reservations not until September?
By: Justin Pinter

Recently, EB Games and Gamestop have been quoted as saying that they will not be taking PS3 reservations until later this year, "after September."

It is said that Sony directly talked to EB Games and Gamestop asking that they hold off on taking reservations until Sony can confirm the number of actual Playstation 3 systems for distibution.

Also, Sony spoke to EB Games and Gamestop about something new that they hadn't announced at E3. Sony is planning to launch with 3 million consoles instead of the earlier statement of 2 million. A distribution of a million to each continent; Asia, Europe/Australia, and US/Canada.

By waiting until the end of September, Gamestop and EB Games will be able to make sure they don't oversell themselves and have angry buyers waiting for their PS3's. Hopefully, if true, this will not affect Sony ina negative way.

I was just about to go live, and then I read the following:

"A distribution of a million to each continent; Asia, Europe/Australia, and US/Canada."

As far as I know, Europe and Australia are not in the same continent

I work at Game Stop, so I called my manager this morning to ask him about this and he didn't know anything about it, so he checked the email this morning and there is an email saying that the company is not going to take preorders until after the manager's conference, which is in Sept. Don't post this quite yet, I'll try and print off a copy of the email and we could post it. This FREAKING sucks! Also, we should probably say aomething about how this could hurt Sony and Game Stop.

Hey good work finding out more Dusty.

Although, how do you figure it would hurt Sony?

heerokenshin
05-16-2006, 17:56
Well people who are "iffy" on the prices could get pissed that they have to wait and say screw it, this could be the last straw for some people. Also, procrastinators who preorder it, but then dont pay it off at the same time have less time to get the system paid off, with the 360, they had MONTHS to pay it off and some people just didnt. and they still havent bought the system, so with only a month or two time in between, people may not pay off the system and may not get one.

Ah right I see. I think the system in the UK is different.

When I preordered my PS2 from Toys 'R' Us, I had to pay the full amount up front for them to guarantee me one.

heerokenshin
05-16-2006, 21:01
The problem is that they cannot guarantee it. They have no clue how many consoles they are getting... What happens if more people are "guaranteed" a console then the amount of systems they get in?
