Capcom's next-gen survival-horror shuns Nintendo
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will be released on next-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 - but not Nintendo's Revolution.
The sequel's action will take place in sunlit urban environments rather than the series' usual doom and gloom-laden interiors.
Early screenshots have also revealed a Chris Redfield look-alike in the lead role hinting that the plot might a take a turn back towards the Racoon cityscape of Code Veronica and, most importantly, mark a return for the zombies, according to Japanese games magazine Famitsu.
Capcom's decision to release Resi 5 for PS3 and 360 only will dismay many Nintendo gamers after Capcom appeared to have signed up to develop many of its high profile titles for Gamecube exclusively, even if recent games such as Killer 7 and Resident Evil 4 have made their way to Sony's stable.
While speculation is certain to snowball until the game is finally released in 2006, two things are certain: the over-the-shoulder view of Resident Evil 4 will be kept; and the project has been placed in the safe hands of Jun Takeuchi, the producer of the Onimusha series.

At first I was thinking that they would ship it to the N. R last but now I think of it, Nintendo just want's to be there for the kids.

Yeah, I don't know why RE4 was even released on the Gamecube in the first place. The Gamecube just doesn't have that kind of audience in their gamers. While Xbox and PS2 have a much bigger market for those games.

That might not be that reliable, but it is definetly possible to have a release on all three consoles.

You make a good point, from a European perspective at least, Ninty didn't even support Resi 4 that well, especially for a game that's widely acclaimed as one of the best that money can buy.

RE 5 should come to the Revolution, I mean after all the Game Cube has almost every RE game on it so it wouldn't make sense for Capcom not to make the next illiteration of RE for Revolution.

How is that a reason to put RE5 on the Revolution? Just because all the others are on Nintendo systems doesn't mean this one has to too.

Well Capcom didn't seem against putting the RE series on the Gamecube so I don't know what would stop them from doing it now, that's all I meant.

Alright I guess I just misunderstood what you said, and yes there is probably a pretty good possibility that this will happen though.
I think that the resedent evil should stay with the playstation because the stupid x-box 360s huge contrllor with the buttons that you need extra fingers for would be way to complecated but hey the people at microsoft dont care about the controller tey care about the money and profits.

What are you talking about? MS took people's ideas and used them until they had the perfect controller, now they did that again this time around and made the perfect controller even more perfect. This is coming from me. I thought the xbox controller sucked. But I recently borrowed my friends xbox and I have gotten used to the controller and realised it is actually a really good controller. Aside from the black and white button which is now where the L1 and R1 buttons on the Playstation controller are.

Resident Evil 4 was really good on Gamecube, I honeslty couldn't play it on a PS2, it just be........wrong.......so just......no.
Not saying that the PS2 is a bad console, just playing RE4 on it would be way to werid.
Not comming out for Revvy? Meh, I'll have all 3 :)
And for RE4 on cube, capcom had to have a reason to b ring it out on cube.

I enjoy on gamecube for the looks, that it.
I still think RE5 should come out on the Revolution.
Also All the RE games on Gamecube are better looking then if they had come out on the ps2. Like RE4 being released on ps2 they cut down the graphics cause the ps2 cant handle the amount of detailes that was on the gamecube version

And I find it funny that xbox did not get a port of RE4 like ps2 fans did.

Resident Evil was once an exclusive title for SOny. Which goes way back to the original playstation.

Yes, it was such a bad idea that they happened to create one of the best games that has ever been made on a console. And if Capcom dont go with Nintendo next generation then I think they will be making an emphasised mistake of this generation with them not putting the game on XBOX.

I dont' care if they port it to one to nintendo. I just went one for my ps3 version at the same time and not a year later.
At the Sony Conference in Santa Monica Sony has revealed that Sony has signed an exclusive deal with Epic Games.
The first part of the deal is that Epic will optimize the Unreal Engine 3 for the PlayStation 3. And the second part, which is rather more interesting for you guys, Unreal Tournament 3 will be released on the PlayStation 3 in 2007 exclusively. We can't confirm how long the exclusiveness will last, but it will definitely appear only on the PlayStation 3 in 2007.
We will have more information about Unreal Tournament 3, and its exclusiveness, as soon as more information comes available.
