Looks like a high res version of Ace Combat 5 to me :P
Makes me wonder what Namco will do with Ace Combat 6 for the PS3 when its announced, which everyone knows it will be soon.

One of my biggest gripes about the Xbox was that it didnt have any flight sims.... at all!
How can you be a respectable console if you're missing entire genres of games?! I'm not trying to flame, I'm actually really happy to see a game like this coming out for the 360 8)

Heh, seemed a bit of an oversight didn't it, especially from the company that made the best selling flight sim ever.

If you would have check out the this 2min demo of game trailers from the Xbox360 Summit. You would have known that it was coming to the xbox360. As far as getting th pics. I have my sources. Don't believe me check the trailer where you can get a glimpse of in game footage. :P

I dont think Ace Combat could hold a candle to this. Look at the first pic, and you can see the heat haze coming from the afterburner.
WOW just imagine like a 12 person dog-fight via live. Or a 3 on 3 team battle over the pacific coastline. WOWOWOOWOWOO

Wow those screen shots are unbelievable. The first one looks too real, but i am not surprised because most games that focus on vehicles just look spectacular. Look at all the current racings games like GT4 or Forza or other flight sims like Ace Combat.
Everytime you say something good about a X360 game or the console, you need to point something negative Jap. Come on pal, it's getting repetitive ;)

I've never played a flight sim before so maybe this will be my first one.
Don't get offended. These screens no doubt look gorgeous!
But I would prefer some ground shots with that please. Blue sky with a detailed plane reminds me of Jin Kazama of the E3 trailer. The only pic above that shows the background looks rather bland to pass any judgement. Would like to see some motion video of this one actually. Planes look nice.

I'll have to dig up some Ace Combat 5 shots for ya and show you just how close Ace Combat 5 looks to those.
Only difference is a little more detail on the plane, better long distance detail, and ... hmmm ... thats about it. Higher Resolution like I said.
The ground effects though dont even look as detailed to me as what I'm playing right now in Ace Combat 5. Which bothers me the most about those screens.

I've never played a flight sim before so maybe this will be my first one.
Dude, you will not be able to put down the controller. This was the absolute biggest reason why I never touched an Xbox. Flight Combat Sims are so amazingly addictive. You're like a bird.. going mach2.. with things that make big booms!
It just doesnt get any better... How could Xbox NOT have a flight combat game?! :shock:

Actually now that I have seen the 720p pics of World Air Gun I can clearly say that it BLOWS ACE COMBAT OUT OF THE WATER. These little pics of WAG dont do it justice, you clearly need the larger 720p versions here: http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=362169&page=1
U can even see the snow mobile track in the snow, and the planes are MUCH lower to the terrain than in Ace Combat. That also would mean that WAG has better draw distance than ACE combat

Aquanox, you obviously havn't read all my post then because I have stated many times before That i love the way the 360 was designed and said that the controller was unbelievable. Also i have stated many times that the PS3 is not very attractive and the ugliest console i have seen this coming gen and the controller is horrible. and Games? have you seen me post in the Enchant Arms topic? i said i was going to buy this game along with Lost Odyssey. And the only game i've really been getting on is PDZ because it doesnt impress me for a game thats made by rare and been in development forever. I have given much respect towards gears of war and you know that. So before you start saying shit about know your damn facts. I Also said this game looks unbelievable, but i'm not surprised because games that focus mainly on vehicles always look this good? how is that a bad statement? I even mention GT4, a PS2 game. So if this game doesn't surprise wouldn't you think that i wasn't impressed with GT4 either? Fact is, Racing and Flight simulation games look great, but don't impress me because they are supposed to look that damn good. So shut up and read all my posts before stating something like that.

Of course it looks better, were just saying it doesn't look all that much different. Just slightly better detail on the models at higher resolution. And yes, the ground effects of Ace Combat 5 were done through photography taken from satellite imagery and laser-to-ground technology and then enhanced through digital imagery.
That is of course, for the levels they could pull that off with. Some levels had things like airports, space stations, castles, fortresses, etc. that couldn't be done in that manner.

And why would they need to be low-res when they are intended to be viewed hi-res on an HDTV????

There is no trailer and when you take pics from videos/gameplay that tend to be low resolution. Those pics posted are the same type as the high res ones of AC 5 I posted. And you dont know at all if they are in-game.

Everyone has thier own perefrence whether it is the 360 or Ps3, and everyone will try to make their favorite system seem better than the oppositions, so just leave it at that...
anyway
I never got around to playing Ace Combat 5 on the Ps2 but World Air Gun (Strange name :? ) looks amazing to me, but like someone said i would have to see pics pf the surface to see exactly how detailed it is.
I was never one for Flight games but the eye candy is enough to lure me in, I cant wait to see what AC6 looks like in compairison. :)

One of the most differentiating aspects that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has managed to hold over its rivals is the contribution of exclusive, downloadable content for various first and third party titles. Indeed, games such as the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV may be coming to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but in this case, again, Microsoft has managed to get the upper hand by offering its consumers exclusive episodic content (only secured by the hefty sum of USD 50 million, we might add).
Up until now, Sony has been rather quiet as to how the company intends to combat this threat; however, recent comments from Sony Worldwide Studios boss Phil Harrison have hinted that the firm appears to have something on the cards, possibly even for the PS3 iteration of GTA IV.
Speaking with 1up.com recently, Harrison commented, “As the head of the [internal Sony] studios, it's hard for me to comment on the third-party relations, so I don't know the details of that -- we deliberately keep those separate -- but we have a great relationship with Rockstar and we're actually working closely with them on a number of initiatives, so I do know some things that are going on, but I'm not able to share those with you now."
Though we can only speculate as to what Sony will come up with, you can be sure that we'll bring you all the latest details as soon as they come to light. Grand Theft Auto IV is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 across North America from October 25th.
