Can the ps3 play ps1 and ps2 games?
I was just wondering if this has been released. Thanks a bunch! :D
Are you asking if it can play them or should it? I believe Sony intends to make the PS3 backwards compatible and capable of playing PS2 games. As for PS1 games, Im not to sure about that.
Ken katurgia him self confirme at E# 2 years ago there would be.

ken never said anything about it at e3 2 years ago I don’t think but sometime last year he said that it would emulate the way that the PS2 emulates the PS1. whether by emulating the PS2 it will emulate the emulation along with it is another matter entirely.
anyway in short yes it will be backwards compatible with the PS2 but we don’t know about the PS1

Actually, after I created this topic, I found on this sites FAQ that it will be able to play Ps1 and Ps2 games. Pretty cool.
Yes Sony's Blue Ray laser can read DVD (PS2 media) and CD (PS1 media) so there is no reason PS3 can't technically play PS1 games although it hasn't yet been officially confirmed that it will be able to, it just seems likely that it will.

Yeah...didn't sony already say that?
And PS2 was able to play PS1 games?
Hey guys,
I am feeling really shitty right now because my girlfriend of two years, we are no longer a couple.
She said she has slowly been losing her love for me over the past month or so and now to try and stay together is just hurting us even more. She is changing still and finding out who she is as a person and right now, her and I dont fit. Maybe sometime down the road we can try it again, but until then I told her we can still be friends since we have done so much together.
So anyway, if I seem a little down the next say.....10 years, this is why...

Hey dude, I fell for ya'. I'm only 18 and when my girlfriend broke up with me, I was devastated.
We had been going out for nearly a year when she stopped "us." She complained that things weren't great anymore, and they were good. Imagine hearing this from a girl which told you she loved you. Then later on it lead me to believe that she had been lieing to me the whole time about ever loving me. What she felt was a crush and a wave of happiness, that was it.
You know what sucked even more? I tried talking to her, tried to be her friend, tried to understand her reasoning, and she was spiteful. Here was a girl I truely loved (that's a long story...) and she treated me like crap after we broke up. No sympathy what-so-ever for me, the pain i dealt with, etc. She just totally denied me as well. It felt like she was lieing to herself and saying she never had felt anything for me, so that being without me made it easier on her.
Take my advice. Love is a beautiful but dangerous thing. It will be tough "getting over her," but with love, can you really get over her? I focused on the grief her loss gave me. I focused on the pain that I felt and let it hurt me. Do you know what I gained out of that? Compassion.
Take my advice and don't speak with her. If she feels guilty, or if she feels any sympathy for you at all, she will talk to you. If you make the attempt to talk, she may not be ready, thus causing you both more grief.
Last thing, if you 2 ever get back together, it is vital that you guys start a whole new relationship. Do not try and act like you once were. That part of the two of you is gone forever.
I feel for you, i've been through hell, but i've gained new insight into the person I am today. In the end, I was the only one that could help me. Perhaps there will be someone to help you.
thnx man...Yeah I am trying...although with the friend thing...we took a break about 6 months ago where we didn't see eachother or speak...and I'll tell ya...that was hell.
Everything is still good between us...she just slowly lost her true love for me....(long story)...But I still want to see her and be her friend....too much we have been through to completely break it off.

Every relationship is different. Every person is unique. It's highly possible you two can still be together, in some form or another.
I still recommend that you guys (since you are broken up) stay away from each other. Give her space to sort things out. Give yourself time to understand what you really want. If you guys go straight to friends after a relationship of such magnitude, then you both might feel pulled to go right back into a relationship. This might seem alright for you, but if she left you because she is losing her love for you, then you guys would only be together for a really short amount of time.
Does any of this make sense?
yeah...uggg, its so difficult... :?

They can all already play ps1 games but not ps2 games...its only the 60 and 80gb ones that can play ps2 games...but all models can play ps1 games..hence the reason there are ps2 games on PSN...but the disks work aswell :D
