I really enjoyed this movie. Very interesting and probably the coolest movie I've seen in years. Very creative and I will say probably the best looking movie I've seen on Blu Ray as well.

I've heard the complete rundown of this movie. My opinion of it from what I heard, ****ing stupid! It was a 15 min breakdown my sister's fiancee told me so he didn't miss much.

Final Destination: 7/10

There was some pretty bad acting from some of the actors, and some unbelievable scenes, but the message was there. That death is inevitable. With a plan for you or not, depending on your religious stance. Anyways, there's one scene in the first act of the film where it's after his premonition. Now keep in mind, this movie came out in 2000, so that keep that year in mind. Anyways, he envisions the plane blowing up with everyone in it..he wakes up from his premonition and freaks out. Now he yells for everyone to get off the plane and they're all freaking out. The plane staff is asking him why and he's like "It's gonna blow up!". I noticed the terrorism theme did not run rampant in that scene..he wasn't called a terrorist, the interrogators didn't even ask him if he's a terrorist. Now, this is a year before 9/11. So just imagine if this movie came out in 2002, the scene would have played out so differently, it would play out like movies now. He would get called a terrorist and that would be a heavy theme in the film. It's so ****ed up when you think of it. Of how an event could change so much. Another film is "Siege" with Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis..that looked like a pre-cursor to 9/11 and that came out in the late 90's, but there was a bus explosion in the film, caused by a Muslim extremist..ain't that some ****ed up ****?

Good stuff! I really need to watch that movie. I have heard so many great things about that movie but have never seen it. Is Snatch supposed to be a sequel to Lock Stock and Two Smocking Barrels? Or did I just imagine that. I have never seen either, seems like something that I remember.

nah, they're not sequels, even though they really seem like they are because every actor plays the same character, except with a different name, motivation and situation....the way Guy Ritchie makes his films is like they're set in a universe and somehow, each character can relate to one another in his next movie, or are connected somehow..just like Tarintino's films..but yea, you should definitely watch both movies...watch Lock Stock first, then Snatch, and then Rock N Rolla..but watch with subtitles as there is a lot of British humor and slang in there lol..especially in Snatch with the "pikey" lol..I call these three movies, his London Underground Gangster Collection..they're not sequels, yet somehow, they relate and connect to each other..it's a beautiful thing..oh and of course, watch them all on blu-ray

Yeah the story and script wasn't much better than above average. But I was kind of expecting that when I went into it. I think I was more stuck on how great the movie looked to much care about the story being average. In retrospect prolly should have given it an 8 or 8.5 but I just enjoyed watching it so much that I gave it a 9. I just down right loved the eye candy in this movie so much. Olivia Wilde is enough to make up for the extra point!

Man, that movie is overrated. It did have an interesting concept, but the execution was poor. What you're left with is a bunch of kids spewing profanity for an hour and a half and you don't even see the witch. It's a huge slap to the face. If I had to rate all of the pseudo-handheld camera movies I've seen, it'd go something like this:

Cloverfield - 8/10
[REC] a.k.a. Quarantine - 7.5/10
The Blair Witch Project - 5/10
The Fourth Kind - 3/10

out of that list, I only hate Quarantine, I've seen better zombie plague films (28 weeks later) and fourth kind even though it scared me the first time..then I found out it was all fake, and they didn't even shoot on location..as for the blair witch..well, what did ya expect from a bunch of college undergrads? the blair witch part was fake, but their reactions were 100% real..it was the director and crew messing with them in the tent scenes at night and they thought it was real, they didn't even know they were gonna get pranked like that which is why I love that documentary/film

Vital - 7/10

Shinya Tsukamoto's Vital is an interesting and somewhat surreal trip into the mind of a man, Hiroshi, who loses his memory and girlfriend, Ryoko, in a car accident. Although the pacing is a little slow and the transition between the real world and Hiroshi's dreams/memories aren't as easy to tell apart, much less understand at first (especially given how some feel really random i.e. the scene with Ryoko dancing on the beach), the film benefits greatly from the performances of its cast. That isn't to say that Vital is a bad movie, but it's nothing truly mind-blowing either. I'd say it's worth a rent.

Star Wars was just smarter in it's execution and it was a better film. Films don't just become dated over their visual FX.

Rendering air to air combat in space isn't much easier than what's required in TRON, but if you think outside of the box you can do great things

I don't think Ixion was referring to the story in his rating, but if that was the case then I would say the premise was fun and cool to think about. Obviously though Tron isn't as good as Blade or Star Wars.

I'm not saying Tron had better effects than the others, just that it did the most with computers since it was based in the digital computer world. It was no easy task since computers couldn't do much back then.

I know. And that's why it's dated. When a film tries to progress further than it's capable, it will be dated in the future. And TRON went all out.

CGI Neo is another example of this. Groundbreaking for its timeThose two are definitely separate sentences. I don't see those as related, if you get my drift... they should've shot that scene as practical as possible. Would it have killed them to do wirework instead of CG? I mean it looks obvious (to me) and it's not like there was no other options or enhancing the scene.

I understand your point of view, but I'm simply going by how much I enjoyed the film, although I suppose that's not 100% fair to older films like TRON. However, there are definitely films even older than TRON that can still be enjoyed just as much as before, such as The Godfather and Star Wars. Heck, The Wizard of Oz still works pretty well.

That and the lightcycles.

I still think Star Wars is great visually. Much better than the obvious CG in the new trilogy. Personally I think Jurassic Park is one of the best CG films (well live-action with CG)... but I maybe a bit biased since I enjoy the movie as whole so much. At the very least I would think its up there.

Awesome movie, the only one of its kind. If it wasn't directed by Clint Eastwood, then there would not be a single hint of racism in it. He took a risk, but made an awesome film. The acting from the young brother and sister in the movie were kinda mediocre in two scenes in the movie, but everything else was great. Blade Runner- 9/10 First time watching it (yes I am late). I believe I've watched the Directors Cut since there was no narration and it only ended with Do not read if you haven't watched Deckard picking up the origami of the unicorn without any explanation and immediately cutting to the credits.. which I assume means he's a replicant since that other dude knew?

The Cinematography, the Soundtrack, the themes, the things you could talk about. I would love if there was a thread made where we could discuss what we thought of the movie (themes, messages, ending etc.. :D)
Also my only gripe with the movie Was that the relationship between Deckard and the other replicant was not really convincing but that's just a minor gripe I guess.

I was actually curious about this movie because from the previews it seemed as if Channing Tattum's acting had maybe gotten better. Plus looked like a decent plot. I'm skeptical about any movie he's in after watching Fighting. Wow, talk about horrible acting. I liked the movie, but the acting was atrocious.

CRAP! Don't watch even for the sexy 18 year olds (yeah right 1 of them is about 30.)
I watched 35 minutes and saw very little ninja-ing or cheerleading I did see some boobs though but I doubt it was any of the leading laydees.

The script is dire the acting is poor and the camera work is hilariusly bad its constanlty on the move panning this way then the other than going round in circles and when its not moving its an extreme closeup of the person that is talking.
Not sure if its suposed to be this bad if it is then it is a superb job at being bad.

The Town - 4/10.
I was expecting more. There was a lot of random **** in that movie. Why does they guy take her for a ride in the 1st place? I think they just did it for the story. Why is it called The Town? I only heard those exact words in the movie once. There was only 4 great scenes but in between was hour long bridges. Jeremy Remmer wasn't the right guy to play the bad-*** character imo.

I thought the movie was great in every way, Law Abiding citizen was awesome, but i thought the town was a notch above it.

Here's my review.

Sucker Punch 7/10

I must say, I should have lowered my expectations going into this movie but I went in thinking it was going to great. Action was phenomenal but the story was just to be honest kind of stupid. It had good parts but for the most part was pretty bland. Although the action was just mindblowing but after seeing it a couple of time you get a little numb to it and it isn't as appealing the farther into the movie. But the soundtrack was great. Very diverse and unique. There was one song in the movie that I really wish I knew the name of it. It was probably the 3rd song and was very easy listening. Anyone have a list of all the songs in the movie. I know it is not on the OST, I checked.

Extract 8.5/10

Not as funny as office space but this movie was hilarious. Just from all the previews I wasn't really sure what to expect but it had a pretty funny plot. The characters in this were great. Especially Brad, the gigolo. What a jack ***!

Brooklyn's Finest: 9/10

Awesome flick, got it on the blu two days ago. Anyone notice a buzzing sound at the beginning of the movie in the background? It's from Antoine Fuqua who also directed Training Day, so you already know it's gonna be good. It's kinda like Training Day meets Crash. All the characters somehow meet each other at the end and it really plays out nice. Nice seeing Wesley Snipes there too. I kept calling him by his other alias, Blade. Watching the special features was nice, the writer for movie was working as a toll booth operator, but he entered a screenwriting contest, came in 2nd but Antoine saw his script and called him to write for him. I mean, this is a classic real life of small to big. I like that, and Antoine's a very nice guy, even though he seems intimidating at first. The only thing I didn't like about it was the ending, could have added more. It made sense, that's not the problem, but I felt we could have seen more of the aftermath of each character's death and family reaction, which we do in one of the alternate endings in the deleted scenes..hell, a lot of those deleted scenes would have been great in the movie, they all worked well.

I've been taking my HD collection and slowly making iPad versions of my favorite films. Today I got around to putting Blade 2 on my iPad, a film I haven't seen in years. Damn is it a good movie. Proper action flick with a cool lineupnof characters, some of the best choreographed fight scenes, wonderful lighting and camera work, and Wesley ****ing Snipes. Im not a huge Guillermo guy, but this and Pans are two of my all time favorites. watched two movies today...

Street Kings: 8/10

Decent blu-ray purchase. **** ton of special features, great video and especially, audio quality. Good movie all around. I felt like it was the prequel to Brooklyn's Finest, set in the west coast, a year before Brooklyn's Finest. One of bad guy actors plays another bad guy role in Brooklyn's Finest..apparently he was a blood in real life. Can't say I liked Keanu Reeves' acting too much, but at least he tried. Big fan of Forest, always nails those angry scenes.

Bruno: 9/10 for a comedy, not a score for all together film..

Love the reactions from real life people with this guy. Staged or not, laughed my dick off all the way.

Yeah, I thought Advent Children was a waste of time. I even know some fans of Final Fantasy VII that found it disappointing. Spirits Within wasn't really a bad movie, in my opinion. They just made the mistake of adding Final Fantasy to the title in the hope that it would bring in more money when it barely shared any common themes with the series.

Yeah Spirits Within was just tacked with FF label as you said to sell more. If I was a FF fanboy I would have been irate but I'm not so I didn't think it was that bad either. Advent Children, I just loved the battle scenes in that movie.

The Rite: 4/10

A movie for skeptics and atheists to see, clearly for those intended viewers. I laughed at just about every scene in the movie. If there wasn't some religious metaphor in a scene, then there was an explanation. I did like when the exorcist got possessed, I lol'd so much. So, if you're a non-believer, a skeptic or an atheist, don't be offended by this film. Make the best of it for comedy nights. George Carlin is laughing in his grave at this movie. And I'm gonna join him in the laughter when I die. I did like the CGI-devil make-over in the movie, that was really badass and cool. But what I would really want is a movie that actually takes place in hell, not of that realistic bull**** though where they find a location in real life and the place is a metaphor for hell..nah, I basically want a live action Dante's Inferno..I always wanted to see demons and the devil in their flesh, portrayed on-screen just like they are in the books, I wanna see the gore and torture and all that, but in a live action setting. That's the kinda religious horror thriller I'm looking for.

SCRE4M - 8/10

Scream 4 is an awesome movie, 100 times better than the travesty called Scream 3. This is like a re-inventing of scream and it's a sequel at the same time. I disliked some of the dialogue near the end, especially with the revealed ghostface killer, but other than that, Scream 4 took me on a wild ride back to the 90's. You're gonna laugh at what movie series they make fun of. Scream is fun because it makes fun of every horror movie that doesn't seem to get out of that "cliche" phase but scream plays the stereotypes all the way through, yet makes fun of them. Go watch this movie with a buddy or a hot girl (insta-laid). The other thing I had with this movie was the characters. No way they look like high school kids, they all look like college undergrads, especially Hayden Pat's character, she's way too ****in smart for those kids, it's like she's the only outta place character in the whole film. The sheriff is oblivious to everything that's happening around him, just like in the other flicks but the audience was laughing and they liked it.

Those first 45 minutes established the characters, their situation, and helped to slowly build suspense and an unsettling atmosphere. If the scares come from the start, then they wouldn't have the same impact.

To you they don't. Worked great for me.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the artistic aspect of the cinematography, and I like it when movies slow down a scene to provide more suspense and atmosphere, but this movie just went too far. The point was made, and then it just became boring. Just my opinion of course.

Let Me In - 9/10

Very good remake. I think I like it better than the original, probably just because it's easier to watch and relate to being in English. I'm not sure it's really a better film as a whole, but I was just able to enjoy it a bit better. A few small changes from the original film, but otherwise pretty much the same from what I remember.

Yeah they did a very good job remaking the movie. It was almost identical. I think I liked the movie more because of Chloe Moretz. She is a phenomenal actress.

500 Days of Summer- 8/10 It's like a modern day Annie Hall but the screenplay and directing was brilliant. Feels so real in terms of speaking about relationships and very relate-able. This movie will definitely bring out strong emotions out of people.. as you look back or look to your current relationships.. or just think about love and life.

Joeseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel had great chemistry. This movie was so unique and magical.. words can't describe! Highly recommended!

Mortal Kombat: 5/10

I'm being generous of course. The reason I give it a 5 is because 5 represents the "half" meaning. That's what Mortal Kombat was, half a movie. The other half was missing for **** knows what reason, the other half being, blood, gore, and some real iconic fatalities. Mortal Kombat is like Batman Forever and Annihilation is Batman & Robin. Still, there have been far worse videogame fighting movies, Double Dragon and Street Fighter are prime examples. But that's what this movie lacked, the blood, gore and real fatalities that the game was founded on, that the ERSB was created for. How the **** do you miss putting blood and gore in a Mortal Kombat movie?! Thank god for the web series that is re-inventing these sorry excuses for actual videogame movies. That being said, the only good thing I enjoyed about the movie were the character costumes, some stuck to the roots of MK1, while others were somewhat more creative. The fight scenes weren't bad and we did see some iconic special moves. Mainly from Sub-Zero and Scorpion, but that's the only good thing about it. My friend said this and he was right, "they tried to cram too many game of the games into one movie". I certainly agree.

But as for batman and robin it was ok 6/10 and I really don't get the attraction with Uma Thurman she is a good actress I loved her in pulp fiction but she is just not that attractive to me. HULK (2003) 5/10

It's god awful boring until the 60 minute mark, then it gets better. The editing is extremely annoying too, but the desert fight scene is the only redeeming quality of this movie. Here's the thing. The casting is perfect. I like everyone who plays their roles in that movie, Eric Bana looks like a Bruce Banner to me. The beautiful Jennifer Conolley is perfect for Betty Ross. I believed this Hulk more than the 2008 version. I think if they re-cast Mark Ruffalo, they should get Eric Bana back in. He's the perfect Hulk, who was in a ****ty comic adaptation.

Hitch 6/10

I liked it a lot when I watched it, and I can still relate to it. Guys have it the worst. Ok, that aside, the movie was going in the right direction until it fell to the usual rom-com spell. You know, a few jokes, then it gets serious. The male is always the bad person and he has to make it up for the female. It almost went in the opposite direction until Hitch tried to get her back. So lame. But as I said earlier, I can relate to Hitch and the people he's helping.

Actually that's probably a good thing. I liked the trailer a lot, and I'm very surprised they didn't succumb to making it in 3D. I definitely wanna see it in IMAX and it's great that more movies are going the IMAX route these days, actually IMAX has been way stronger since Avatar. Anyways, the last Fast and Furious film was a piece of ****, the only good ones were the first and Tokyo Drift. 2 fast 2 furious and the last one was just a pile of ****. What annoys me more is that it always has to involve some latin demographic in each movie, as if every Latino is automatically associated with cars. Common..

The only reason I even purchased Trans2 on blu was because of Megan Fox. Have a major crush on her. I traded it in. It's unwatchable. If those stupid twin robots were not in the movie, or that dumb college kid who was trying to crack jokes the whole movie but failed miserably, then it would have been more enjoyable. But Batman & Robin is a guilty pleasure because it's a comedy to me. The whole movie is plagued with ridiculous one-liners, horrible special effects that makes Jurassic Park seem like Avatar when compared (if even that) and bat nipples, LOL. No, my favorite Batman movie from the 90's would have to be Batman Forever. I liked the neon-gotham look a lot and I LOVE the soundtrack, I still have it in its compact disk version. And believe me, I know it's bad. But I don't think any movie can top Battlefield Earth. The Room comes very close.

I understand that, but I think it was way too heavy on the Latin influence in the last one. Almost every supporting character was like "wassup holmes", especially the protagonist who I couldn't stand one bit. The first and third one were the most diverse for me.

Get out! Are you forreal?! Those guys hate everything except a Disney movie. Wow..it'll probably go back down though, so I'm not keeping my hopes up. But I will see the movie. 2 fast 2 furious and fast & furious were my least favorite ones. Tokyo Drift is my fave, but that's cause I love Japan and its culture.

You realize rottentomatoes aggregates all the reviews to come up with a final percentage right?

Still doesn't change the fact that it only aggregates the reviews of supposedly "professional" movie critics. I rather trust the opinions of fellow movie enthusiasts on imdb.com than some guys that try to stand out by downplaying movies just for the sake of being different.

Watched Machete with Danny Trejo along with a great ensemble cast last night, good cheap thrills that doesn't take itself seriously at all. There was enough plot there to make a story out of it without being dialogue heavy which would have ruined the whole feel. Classic b-movie one liners, cheesy ultra violence, plenty of T and A and steven segal playing a mexican.
One i've been waiting to see since the short in the grindhouse double from '07, it was what I expected from Rodriguez so therefore it didn't disappoint.

8/10

I liked it too, definitely his style. I just hope that he switches up and does a different genre. This 70's homage themed movie is a little overkill. There's like dozens of straight to video movies with that theme. Didn't he do Predators?

Just because they don't enjoy all the cheap blockbusters doesn't mean they irrationally hate everything. I'll give you one free-be: Iron Man 94%... even I wouldn't rate that movie, that high.

Another guilty pleasure and my favorite Adam Sandler movie. His 90's movies compared to post-y2k have major suck in them, with the exception of anger management and funny people. I thought funny people was overlooked..

Fast Five: 10/10

Mindorgasm: When you see something so visually outstanding and awesome that you have an orgasm in your mind. Fast Five is definitely an action movie of the year contender. Really makes up for Fast 4 and is the best of the series. Fast 6 has a lot to live up to if it wants to surpass this. What I loved most about this is the Rock. The on-screen chemistry between him and Domenic Toretto. That fight scene was ****ing insane. And I didn't expect him to be good at all, but he blew my mind away. Loved his Dog the Bounty Hunter attitude and that kinda southern accent he was pulling off. This movie reminded me of what action movies were like in the 80's and 90's. Day 1 blu-ray buy, hands down!

WTF was up with the bonus ending, I thought she died in Fast 4? Unless someone is posing as her to bait in the bounty hunter agent and Domenic so they can kill him. Or, she really is alive and will turn on Dom. If you saw the movie up to that point, what's your theory? Usually, when movies bring back people from the dead, it's not always great.

Yeah, Ironman 2 was a huge let down. But I think I'll enjoy more it the next time I see it, as I won't have as high expectations. Same sort of deal with Transformers 2, had high expectations, was really disappointed first time I saw, thought it wasn't quite so bad the next time.

Nuvian

Problem with Transformers 2 is that it had 20mins of to much action, specially at the end.

And the first Iron Man was so much better then the second onem, its a shame, but i felt the same way with spiderman also, the movie that builds the main characters background is usually better then the sequels when it comes to comic book movie series in my opinion.

agreed. but its always easier to make a first movie of an epic with character introductions and such be good than a conclusion movie where you have to sustain and go beyond that level of amazement.

Source Code - 9/10. So damn enjoyable, I was literally on the edge of my seat in excitement. Loved every minute of it, even though a couple parts can be a bit of a downer.

Fast Five - 8/10. Some little weird things here and there, but really an exciting movie and The Rock is actually pretty damn awesome in it.

Sanctum - 9.9/10

A James Cameron film about cave diving. i nearly shed a tear a few times, it was emotionally intense! All i can say is, Wow what a film!
I might even go as far as call it a horror, in-that the situation was so scarily real.

If you want a change from your run of the mill action-fests and want something that hits deep, i reccomend Sanctum.

Also another film i watched recently, The Be All and End All - 8/10

A British film full of 'liverpudlian' humour and some heartwarming to boot. I was especially impressed with the acting in this film considering, (i think) the 2 main actors are first time actors or atleast unknown to me. Fantastic performance by both.

I reccomend to anyone that 'gets' British humour, its sure to make you smile.

Rambo: First Blood - 10/10

****ing awesome movie. They don't make em' like they used to anymore, what a shame. Thank god Stallone made Expendables, every other action star nowadays looks like a ****ing pansy *** Calvin Klein model who's doing it for looks. That last part of Rambo where he goes off in dialogue was so awesome and sad, and very true. Vets don't get the respect they rightfully deserve.

Lock Up: 9/10

Under-rated movie, seriously. You really hate the bad guy in this and root for the good guy. It's ****ed up that the prison system is still like this today in America. Take some notes from Norway.

Fast And Furious 5 - 8/10

Good film in general, good action scenes, good driving scenes (when they do appear).
But I'd give it a 3/10 as a car film, there are only 3 driving sequences.... and one of them is just about 1 min of a drag race.

Universal Soldier 6/10

Yeah, bad acting all around from JCVD, same trademark martial arts. I just pictured him as Guile from Street Fighter. Dolph Lundgren stole the show, and he had an acting coach on set, so that says a lot. I always liked this movie as a kid, and it's the best one in the series. All the made-for-TV spin-offs are horrid, the 2nd sequel in 1999 was crap, and Regeneration was mildly enjoyable. Good fighting scenes, but how the **** did they get him back after being torn to chunks at the ending of the first one? Eh, if there's ever a remake, or reboot, and I wouldn't mind one, then get Stallone to direct.

Rambo (2007) 9/10

Rambo came back and came back hard. What pissed me off in the movie was those religious fundamentalists going there to "pray" for the victims of genocide. Yeah, cause praying will make God be like "im a protect you guys from the bad guys cuz im god!". Awesome movie, nonetheless. Still have to see part two and three of the Rambo saga. "They drew first blood". **** yeah.
