Molyneux, Naka voice support for Revolution

Key developers have seen the Revolution controller, and say it's a winner

Speaking at the Game Convention event in Leipzig last week, Sega's Yuji Naka and Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux both lent their support to Nintendo's forthcoming next-generation console, Revolution.

Although plans for many key aspects of Revolution remain under wraps - most notably the design of the pad, which Nintendo claims is being kept a secret to avoid it being copied by rivals - both high-profile developers had words of support for the system.

Reports suggest that Sonic creator Naka admitted to being "under a strict NDA" in an interview with the Nintendo-Revolution gaming blog, and was therefore unable to share any details about the system - but confirmed that he has seen the full plans for the device.

"I have seen the Revolution," he said in the interview, which no longer seems to be available on the Nintendo-Revolution site, "and I think everyone will be very pleasantly surprised, when Nintendo reveal everything."

Britsoft legend Molyneux - who made his name with titles such as Populous and most recently worked on Black & White and Fable - was reportedly even more vague in his comments, but warned that nobody should write off Nintendo's efforts.

"There is a line at the end of the book 'Game Over' and it is: 'Never underestimate Nintendo'," he is widely reported as saying. "That is all I can say about the controller."

More details about the Revolution are widely expected before the end of the year, with the next major opportunity for Nintendo to make an announcement being the Tokyo Game Show next month, where company president Satoru Iwata is set to deliver a keynote address.

The Rev is going to be such a good deal.. I just know it will give some big bang for the buck! Something deep inside my heart says Nintendo is ready to turn some heads.

I expect a lot from the Nintendo controller, and I will not be happy with it unless it revolutionary.

Yeah, really. Nintendo better do something really cool, and economical this gen.

I believe that the cheaper price alone would allow them to outsell both Sony, and Microsoft, assuming they get alot of good, strong third party support

I want to see more games like the Resident Evil games on the Gamcube, as well as the Mario, and Zelda games.

Too bad Kojima-san said he won't port MGS4 from PS3. :(

But, anyways, yes. . .I don't think i'm the only one that'll be more than a little upset if Nintendo disappoints us all with the controller.

The PSP-2000 launch bundles just hit stores today! The Daxter bundle is currently available at some retailers today and some will get them later on.

Inside the box, you'll see that the bundled UMDs do not come inside actual game cases. Stamped with the "Not for Resale" tag, the games are wrapped in cardboard sleeves.

Sony released information about a redesigned version of the PlayStation Portable at E3 07, known as the PSP Slim & Lite. The new PSP is designed to be 33% lighter and 19% slimmer than the original PSP system. These are collectively referred to as PSP-2000's--a completely different numbering scheme for anyone who doesn't know.

PSPFanboy has more pictures of this bundle. Hit the link to see more.
