Since almost all the people on this forum are from the US or the UK, it seemed fun to me opening a thread where people from outside these two countries can post their PS3 ID's as well as the country they live in. I personally think it's more fun to have gamers in your frienslist with many different nationalities. I hope this thread will be a success by bringing the worldwide online PS3-community together.

Offtopic: Buying a Playstation is NEVER a waste of money my friend. And I buy my movies always in the U.S., so the region code for Blu-ray doesn't bother me. Besides that, 65 days feel like an eternity to me, that's why I bought one. There are only slight differences between a Japanese version and the European version, so I don't see the problem. And believe me, there already are a lot of people in Europa who own a Japanese or US Playstation 3. :cool:

There is no problem with get Canadian ID's. You must be doing something wrong, or the server may be busy.

The people in this thread are, as you already mentioned, from outside the U.S.. Besides that, the people in this thread provide us with additional information like the country where they're from, their age etc. By posting in this thread people say 'hello, my ID is ..., I'm from ... and its okay if you add me to your frienslist'. Okay, there maybe aren't big differences, but I think it's fun. The more different nationalities, the better! :D

(actually i am living in Germany, but i chosed Austria cause i thought that the selected location of your PSN-ID stays in direct connection to the content censorship that is being executed for PS3 games -> R:FOM

US version featuring blood while JP version does not although the PS3 belongs to the same region; i am not sure if they tried out both R:FOM version with the US PS3 or if they switched the US copy between the US and JP PS3 to encounter this censorship)

I am going to get a PS3 in march. Hopefully, by the time of the european launch, the PS3 will have a polished and stable online network established cause i dont wanna see the online servers down due to some serious demand for a anticipated demo like it was the case with GT:HD...
Besides this i wonder if we guys here in this topic will ever be able to play against each other as some of you here will have PS3s with a different region code . And as far as i know Sony currently only allows online matches within the region you have been directed . So no cross-region online gaming possible.
But they have a very good reason to do so. Doing this they can prevent thousands of gamers from playing on US server, for instance, which most likely would couse a massive server overload otherwise while the servers dedicated for other regions would only work on a medium load which would be a waste of ressources. So to keep the server load balance Sony just had to set barriers between the regions. This way they have a much better control over the server capabilities that are needed to maintain a smooth online network. There are good chances that Sony will expand their server ressources after what they experienced with the uber high demand of the GT:HD demo which forced their network to it's knees...

As long as i can play against the english speaking folk from UK (to the purpose of improving my active english skills although i more likely will get to hear some famous dirty words rather than some argumentative conversations via voice chat ;P), i can live with such restrictions...

Yep, that's correct. You can only register the European network when it has launched. Right now I'm using the US network, no problem at all! Thanks for registering your ID on this thread! ;)
