My dog got into a fight tonight and I thought it was interesting to share. Fortunately my dog, Winston, is ok. He does have a puncture wound in his front legs and a couple other scratches, but non are fatal. He is a little gimpy on his front leg because he got bit pretty good there. The dog he fought was considerably bigger then him, my dog is about 60 lbs and the other was probably 75+. My dog is as loving and laid back as they come and is not really a fighter. What happen was is my dog got out of my house because someone left the door open and my dog is not fixed so he gets horny and does what he has to do. The person who left the door open went looking him. A little while later she came back and my dog was all gimpy and bleeding in a couple spots. When she picked him up 2 guys were around my dog who witnessed the fight and said that my dog whooped his ass. They also said the other dog was really, really messed up. Anyways, I had my dog checked out by a friend who is a Veterinarian and she didn't find anything broken or anything requiring stitches. I thought it was kinda cool my dog showed the other dog, that was a lot bigger then him, who's boss, but at the same time realize I could have lost my best friend. At least I know my boy Winston can fight and protect my ass.
Unfortunately I missed the event in person and could not provide details, but I would like to hear stories of others Pets getting into a fight, won or lost.
Nice story, what kind of dog do you have?
Are your dogs shots up to date, may want to take him in to get checked out anyways to make sure the other dog didn't do anything else to him.

When your dogs are puppys, pick them up by the skin behind their necks. So they don't grow up to be scared of fights and stuff...

Cool. My dog was little, and never got into any fights...except for with my cats...then she would realize that they were my cats, and just walked away. It was pretty funny to see her bolt after my cats, realize who they were, and then suddenly stop =) I miss her...
My cat had a fight with this other cat in my kitchen. The other cat is a tabby and mine is black. So i came back into my house one day and just saw this tabby bolting away from my house. I walked in, then in the kitchen there was about 20 clumps of fur from the tabby cat. My cat just had a little scratch on his head.

A few years ago, I owned a cat (dont know what breed) and an Australian silky terrier. Apparently, a bird was resting on one my garbage bins outside and all of a sudden, my cat pounced on it and brought it to the ground, ripping it apart. My dog soon joined in and they tore it to pieces...
Unfortunately, I wasn't there at the time so my sis gave me an account of the fight but I was able to see the result as I had to throw the dead bird into the same garbage bin it was perched on.

I had a Rottweiler who was pretty prone to fighting. Once Labrador and a Doberman attacked me, and he fought both of them off. Dealt with the Doberman first, then the Lab.
I had to get rid of him in November, because at first he only attacked/fought dogs. Then he started biting/attacking humans - untill finally i'd had enough when he began attempting to attack kids and people in my family.
The only person he didn't show aggression to was me. I'll miss him, he weighed around 120lbs, so the pics don't do his size justice.

Its a mut, a Lab/Collie mix. He is pretty cool looking, Black with a white tipped tail and white on his stomach to the area under his neck.
Are your dogs shots up to date, may want to take him in to get checked out anyways to make sure the other dog didn't do anything else to him.
His shot are up to date, I have to update them again next month though. I had him checked out by my old neighbor who is a veterinarian, she did a routine check up on him and the only thing I needed to worry about was the puncture wound on his leg. She gave me aspirin to give him and some antibiotics to put on his wound. We shaved the areas where there was blood and most were very minor.
