Are you trying to register a North American region User account? That isn't possible unless you have a PS3.

Ditto. You must have a PS3 to register your PSN account name in NA.

What if I register in UK (through that site), then when I get my PS3 in US (I live there), I log into the UK account, delete it, then re-create it so I can change my location. Is this method of "reserving" possible?

I suppose if you know someone with a PS3 you can register your name using their system, or have someone set it up for you. That should work.... right??
