Hello All,

The purpose of this threat is to discuss all aspects of the next-gen SED television. Here you can do the following:
Share with the rest of us your knowledge about this new TV.
Here you may also express your opinions about the technology (be semi-decent at least).
Ask questions about the new technology; it can be anything that is relevant to the TV, not just physical features of the TV.
LEARN from those who post here!!! Maybe you will be part of the group that anxiously awaits this awesome new technology. In this thread please do NOT:
Advertise in any way.
Make derogatory statements towards anyone else who posts here.
Have too much fun (pardon the pun, hehe).Anybody seeking information that they themselves can check out on their own time please visit The Wikipedia SED TV Page. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface-conduction_electron-emitter_display)

Thank you and please enjoy this thread.

I too am eagerly awaiting the first SED's to hit the market. I'm interested to see if it's a big a difference in picture quality as people are touting. With the emergence of SED, LCD and Plasma should see a nice pricecut and become even more affordable for the masses so even if you can't afford SED you should be able to get a great HD set. Good times :)

ha... dont expect SED until 2009. And when you do see it, youd better be ready to whip out the old wallet in a big way... they are going to be the most expensive HDTV on the market for over a year when they hit.

Yes you are right. The first 55 inch model is projected for now @ about $10,000 US! Eventually they will settle down and cost around the same as LCD; Plasma. :suspect:

SEDs are far better than anything on the market right now but won't be affordable anytime in the next five years.
