this is a pretty solid list, GHII is sounding better every day ;)

The track list for the upcoming Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II seems to have leaked onto the internet, with Pearl Jam and Iron Maiden heading up the 10 exclusive 360 tunes.

Seven revealed Guitar Hero 360 tracks, according to internet reports are:

- Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
- My Chemical Romance - Dead!
- Deep Purple - Hush
- Pearl Jam - Life Wasted
- Rick Derringer - Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo
- Toadies - Possum Kingdom
- Rancid - Salvation
- Iron Maiden - The Trooper

An excellent selection for rock heads looking for a bit of 360 rhythm action, then. According to the same internet report, Guitar Hero II 360 is still headed for release in March, but we're waiting for confirmation from Activision before marking the date off on our lovely new Dead or Alive calendars.

Nirvana is already on the track listing. It has "Heart Shaped Box"

So both systems are getting exclusive songs?

Or am I wrong in this assumption?

(Honest question...)

I don't get it...is it just some fake guitar with buttons instead of strings? what's the draw? I'm not saying there isn't one...but what do people like about it over a real guitar?

real = years to play the songs you her
this = playing in a few min.

its cool.. even if you play guitar.
the timing is there
you have to hit the "cords" and strum

so yea.. theres some real draw.

Never liked Iron Maiden. You gotta have some AC/DC on there, their music invented the air guitar.

Whoever chooses these songs could do with a hard slap. Of all the great British bands to choose from (Queen, Radiohead, Muse, Mansun, Suede etc), we get lumbered with, let's face it, complete tosh.

Maybe if I were fourteen again, I'd consider buying Xbox 360's version of Guitar Hero 2 just for My Chemical Romance. Sigh.

At least Misirlou is GH2's saving grace.

Iron Maiden IS one of the greatest British bands. They're going on for almost 30 years, have been an inspiration to just about every European heavy metal band out there and continue to produce records and give massive, energetic shows.

Deep Purple? Been an inspiration to even more bands (and still continue to do so), not in the least Iron Maiden themselves. They've been in the business even longer and also continue to give great shows.

These bands are tosh but Muse and Radiohead are some of British finest? Come on... Although you're right about Queen.

Iron Madien IS one of the geatest ever. Did you forget they are Brit?
Except for MCR this is a great addition to the tracklisting. Toadies are awesome, and Billion Dollar Babies is a classic. Same with Rick Derringer, Hootchie Koo should be fun. Reminds me of Dazed and Confused.

Maiden, Alice Cooper, Pearl Jam, Toadies. All bands people were dying to have on GHII for the PS2, easily one of the best new game series to come around since ... well ever.

To the person that asked whats the draw. Well ... when you hear a badass rock song 99% of the people who listen to the music start jamming with their air guitars. Don't have to do that anymore. Now you have a very well made guitar with its own frets and a whammy bar to jam with. The guitar is built like a Gibson, on the PS2 anyway. The 360 controller looked like an Xplorer like the ones Metallica always used.

I played Guitar Hero for a year, and still play GH2 after what ... 5 months? The game is just a blast to play. Hangar 18 is an insane track and simply a blast to jam to. Who can complain about 9 guitar solo's and big riffs throughout the 8 1/2 minute song? Theres tons of solid tracks, from Laid to Rest to the extras like Jordan. Great soundtrack, much better then the first game.

Anyway, solid exclusive track list. So glad to see Maiden and Pearl Jam and Toadies.

Also, people are acting like they just pick groups from a list and slap songs into the game. Doesn't work that way. They have to contact the groups publisher and get a master track of allowed tracks sent to them. Then they have to cover the songs ( unless they were allowed to use the full master like Primus did with their track ). Thats why Metallica is not in the game. They turned from the best trash metal band in history, and perhaps the best metal band period, to being the biggest dickheads in all of music. Metallica will probably never allow a song of theirs, especially pre-Black Album, to get put into a game like this. Not without paying 5 million or something per song.
