You mean on terms of sony, microsoft and nintendo or konami, thq, EA etc
I think the best company is Capcom, Capcom brought a revolution to the industry of gaming....Street Fighter....Street Fighter was wildly popular and everyone loved it! Then came those VERSUS games...and the final MVC2...they brought megaman too! an all time favorite! however they have no switched the most popular game Street Fighter to 3D so namco wins if you were gonna go into detail
My favourite developer is probably Free Radical mainly because they have made many of my favourite games like Timespliters, Timesplitters 2 and more recently Second Sight. They are original and make FPS's the way they should be made. They seem to have the guts to include lots of innovative ideas in the games much like my second favourite developer Konami.

I've always been a big fan of Electronic Arts, love their sports games (Madden etc) and I've really enjoyed the Medal of Honor series, not to mention the Need for Speed series
Konami with out a doubt is my favourite

My favourites are konami and EA.
I like Konami for MGS and PES games.
I like EA because of LOTR, 007, FIFA, TIGER WOODS, MOH.
I would of chose Rockstar but they only have one major franchise.

Let me rephrase that.
Rockstar only have one major franchise that appeals to me.
that major franchise is gta...I'm guessing 99 percent

Polyphony Digital.
The amount of detail they put into Gran Turismo is just amazing. GT never seems to get old. I have probably put more hours on it then any other game out there.

namco-fighting: sol cal, tekken, need i say more
square(anything)-FFX and i think legend of the dragoon, god wat a good game
EA-sports- SSX, FIFA, Streets games, i think that covers it.
Capcom-anything else, megaman(bluebomber,rocketman), DMC.
My current favorite has to be Blizzard.
While they don't release many titles, every single one of their games is spectacular.
All of their games have embodied the competitive atmosphere that is gaming at it's finest and they have done an outstanding job of keeping their games balenced.
When they patch a game, they only do a minor change most of the time. They seem to understand the concept that creating a new wrong while fixing another is just as bad.
Yea they would be one of my favourites too, even though they are fighting a loosing battle on battle.net they can't seem to stop the hackers*Sigh*

I would choose Blizzard also. The popular games I know from the top of my head that Blizzard made is Warcraft and Starcraft. I would love to be back in the day where it was only Capcom and Sega.
Yes Warcraft is probably the most obvious one. StarCraft probably a close second, but by no means less popular, but probably slightly less famous overall.
Lets not forget Diablo.
The thing about Blizzard, they are one of a select few US game companies that have managed to get thier games to consistently sell well in Asian markets.
Starcraft has actually sold more in Korea than the US, or I think everywhere else combined.

That is really amazing for them to sell that well in some Asian countries where piracy is legal. That surprises me.
Most of the sales have occured through Cyber Cafes, and I believe some of the tournaments have a requirement that you show personal proof of ownership of the title to compete.
Rockstar north!
I would Say westwood cuz they had a unique game, but EA ruined it!
Also Credit to SEGA cuz they had a great console with sum great games, shame they suck up to xbox most of the time when they left the console business.

Really? Then why has the PS2 had more Sega games released for it then Xbox?
Sega isn't really sucking up to anyone. They are being highly intelligent and releasing their games on what platforms they feel will sell the games best.

Which is a wise decision for a software-only company...
Siren name them games then, cuz i know there are more game... oh wait i dunno if its Nintendo or xbox... but yeh more games have came out on xbox than ps2 from sega....
wait scratch that i didnt see PBM's post... whops....
but with the ps2 becoming more popular than they are with game like eye toy and sing star dont you think more innovation is beeing put in hardware wise to help games be innovative?
Hardware and control innovation is best kept on the back burner until a new generation hits.
Even the EyeToy which is widely successful has barely capped a couple million units. This creates a huge barriar to game development for it.
If a EyeToy like device was shipped with every PS3 system I am sure we will see a lot of games that utilize it.
Like having your face in the game, that already happend though the sim urbs lets you do it, but who cares the sims has worn out its charm, what the eye toy could offer is just great games that help you burn calories, and with Blu-rays massive space, you could have hundreds! but what about coupleing the eye toy with dance mats or microphones, lets see what the dev's and sony do about it...
Sony launches Official PS3 site
By: Justin Pinter
The official Europe Sony PlayStation 3 website is now up and running. The website includes all the information about the PS3 including system specs and release dates.
On the PS3 website you will be able to access sections such as games, image galleries, specifications, PS3 Explained (explains PS3 features), and Sony's Press Releases for the PlayStation 3.
Featured games on the site include Formula One 06, Eye of Judgement, Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Genji 2 and MotorStorm. There are also a few small FAQs on Blu-Ray and high definition, outlining exactly why people should buy a PS3 come November 17, 2006.
You can see for yourself by visiting them at:

Well you choose your language when you go to the website and it just opens up. there is no exact address to UK's version of the PS3 site....

Is it just me, or didn't Sony launch their EU site back a month ago?

Yes they did, but once again, tonnes of sites only seemed to have noticed weeks later.
Anyway, it's live.
Could I remind you that it's Blu-ray and not Blu-Ray.

Replying a bit late, but I've already written an article on this in May.
