I got my 60GB PS3 yesterday evening, and when I got home one of the first things I tried to do first was get online. My dad has a PC upstairs which is hooked up to a Wireless Access Point Router. I'm assuming this is all I need to use my PS3's Wi-Fi to play online. Two other PCs downstairs are linked to this router, if that matters.
So when I go into Network settings to set it up, I enter the WEP and choose all the default options in the list they gave me (including Do No Use for proxy server). I choose automatic when they ask for IP address and stuff (I did not enter in my IP address, DNS, etc, into that screen). And so when I run the Connection test, it fails because the IP address couldn't be located. The error number is 80029024.
The router is across the entire house and then up a level, so maybe it's just a signal problem. Or, does anyone know if I should enter all the info at the IP address screen manually? I don't know how to find my Primary/ Secondary DNS or the router number they ask for. Any insight to this problem would be much appreciated.
