View Full Version : PS2 model Numbers
Do does make a difference in speed? I got 5 PS2s for free and i get 2 different numbers. Like i get 39001 and 30001 or something.
BTW i use 1 PS2 per room right now lol. Cept i got my first PS2 hooked up to my HDD big screen tv with S-video cable which improves the gfx by alot for me. :P
I dont think either model is particularly faster than the other..atleast not notecibly. Each new model does have some minor upgrade though.

Well there has been reports that the older models wont play GTA SA as good as the new ones.

The newer models have a better DVD playback.
Thats the only thing i know for sure.
The speed might increase but like blake said...it's hardly notcible.
The fan is quieter in new ones and they use diffrent dvd players and crap and alot of bug fixes but other then that there really isnt a big deal except for some hardware wont work for example the old DVD remotes for the PS2 wont work on the new ones

Sounds like we may have taken a hit for our recent article because now some are saying we may not be reliable anymore. Although, check it out...some posted my article.
Quite a few people have been saying this. Some of the folks at the PLAYSTATION.com forums have been saying the same thing. Just deal with it.

We're not in a mess.
The matter is now closed - the situation was cleared up, and there's nothing we can now do.
Every site, even IGN, gets criticised at some point. Any bashing will pass soon enough.
