when i downloaded motorstorm from the PS store it took at least and hour but i've heard of some people who took only 10 or 20 minutes or less. I have my ethernet cable hooked directly from my router to the PS3 and i have comcast if that helps. why does it take so long?
thanks

I have the same problem. It takes even longer for me. At least TWO hours. And it even got slower after yesterday's maintenace when they were fixing the servers. I have 100% signal and a good DSL speed. But I don't use it wired. I use it wirelessly.

It takes a long time for me as well, Sony has crappy servers. Let's hope it's just some inefficiencies of the codings and not the servers themselves, if true then it might be likely fixed eventually.

It took me two hours to get to 50%! Maybe it's because I was using my WiFi.

About two days ago, I downloaded the Motorstorm demo again, and it took me less than 30minutes. I am using wireless D-link modem on broadband. Eversince I did some adjusting with my modem, downloads are quite fast.

If you are using a D-link modem that supports super-G mode, then you can go to the settings of the modem by typing the modems IP address(listed in the manual that is on the CD that comes with the modem). Then you go to home tab -> wireless -> change the super-G mode settings and it should speed things up. You can also enable the extended range mode too(but I have never needed to use it since my PS3 is about 8 feet from the wireless modem).

It took me about 10 minutes to download the 112MB demo of GripShift.

TEN MINUTES!!!

For Xbox 360, to compare, it took about 3 minutes for a 659MB game demo I downloaded. Most of my downloads range at about 4-5MB/sec from www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com), so that makes sense.

Of course, Xbox Live = $$$ PS3 Online = No $.

i just found out another way to increase the speed on your modem. first you gotta buy a serial port card and there not that expensive. you can find them at circuit city or best buy or any place that sells computer parts just make sure that you have enough PCI slots available on you mobo.

You've gotta be kidding me.
It took me 9 and 1/2 hours to download every single game demo, and about 2 hours for the small blu-ray trailers....

I'm up here in Alaska, running WiFi from my router with DSL.....

I'm trying to get a new internet service and use wired connection though

If I could get a 1 hour download I would be extremely happy. But 15 minutes?! It would be heaven!

I'm wondering if the stores have anything to do with it...I finally got around to creating a US and HK PSN account for the 300 trailer (which is still awesome, btw) and RR7 (bleh). The 300 trailer dl'd in less than 10 minutes (152mb), and the RR7 demo (~425mb) in about an hour...but the funny thing is when I tried to download a random trailer from the Canadian store (this was between 300 and RR7) it took 10 minutes to get to 2% ...so there goes the "my router is a piece of crap" theory :(
