I am going to buy a 60GB PS3 by the end of the week and today I just found out I have an Assignment to South Korea. I was wondering if anybody out there knows if the PSN will work in Korea?
Anyone will valuable input, your post is most welcome.
I think it will work.bcause i live in Asia where there's no support for my country for creating psn id.i just enter us address and been playing rr7 online eversince. i got wireless brodband.:)
i was gonig to register my ps3 in the us before going to korea. do you know if ill still be able to access that US online User ID
Yes.i bought the jap version.at first i was frustrated bcause my country wasnt listed.I can't enter ps store.So i search the forum and i can't rember where i've read it.they say you can create id using US address even if you're not in US. So i've tried and it work for me.

To answer you question in the shortest possible way, if the country has internet, and S.K has 1GB optic fibre net like we do here in Japan, then you can connect to the PSN.:-D
Well Thats Great News. I Was Just A Little Worried I Guess. Thanks For All Your Valuable Input
Sounds great!
My mum and dad are in the US, and they bought me a PS3 (I'm in Europe) - getting it in two weeks *drool*
It will still connect to the US server, btw.
I have a PS3 from China and I can not access Resistance online. I had a Chinese version of the game and it worked but nobody every played and I figured I was on chinese servers.....so I traded my Chinese Resistance for an American version and now I cant get online at all.....I havent tried accessing online since the latest update but hopefully that changed something....If anyone knows anything about this please i could definitly use the help.....It seems i can get online normally and access US servers when i play Madden 07....but thats about it....

I have JPN system, with JPN account. I live in europe, so you should be fine.
Could someone please provide a link to setting up the PSN on the US system in the UK
Thanks
jUST FIND A RANDOM ZIP CODE IN USA THROUGH GOOGLE AND SET UP - YOU DO NOT NEED TO TO ADD ANY CREDIT CARD DETAILS. YOU CAN THEN PLAY ONLINE. WHEN UK UP AND RUNNING JUST DELETE USER AND SET UP AGAIN
I work in Beiing and am currently able to access both the US network and the Hong Kong Network. I have a japanese imported PS3. When Europe comes online I'll join that too (I'm British you see!)
I'm able to download from the stores no problem (albeit a bit slow due to poor chinese internet speeds) and can play games online too (need for speed, fight night 3). As was mentioned in a previous post, as long as you have internet access, you should be fine.

having the same problems,its a china ps3, reg it as from america (microsoft address lol) as england wasnt an option... ridge racer7 works sweet online can also go to the ps online shop.... but no resistance (which was also from china).... its really starting to grate on me please help!!!!!!
From looking at other forums, it looks like systems will be directed to 'dedicated' servers for online gaming, depending on where your ps3 is from. So a Japanese PS3 will go directly to the Japanese servers to play RFOM for instance. This isn't the case for all games as some games have international servers (mostly EA games atm).

so i that the case, how comes its still does not connect? will i have to wait for the uk lunch? or wil that not solve my probs?
also i tryed to change the reg address, to a hong kong address to see if this would help... but now cant change the country from us? will i need to go back to factory setting to do this?
Really not sure mate. I don't have resistance so I can't comment. I am able to play online with NFS Carbon and Final Fight 3 from beijing using a Jap PS3. I do know that Resistance does have dedicated servers though, depending on your system AND the version of the game, so this may be where the problem lies.
I live in Singapore. Set it up to US account... and still when i play RFOM online only see 2 rooms available to play in the custom section.
I couldnt find any room at ranked section....
Anybody help...??
it'll work, you may have to worry about the voltage though. no biggy.
Hi guys,
I have a similar question, not sure if I understand what's been discussed so I will be as clear as possible in my questions;
Recently got posted to Taiwan, so I am currently living here in Taiwan and will be for the next 3 years. I am thinking of getting a Taiwan PS3 here (the new Satin Silver model which will be launched March 27 locally).
Now I understand that I can set the system language to English for the Taiwan PS3. But since I can't read or write Chinese I don't want to get stuck on the local Taiwan (Chinese language) Playstation Network site, my worry is;
1. Is it possible to connect to the US Playstation Network site (or other English language sites) to download demos and purchase stuff?
2. Will the locally released (Taiwan & Japanese) games play online on the US (or other English speaking) sites?
3. Can I buy US version DVD/blu-ray movies and watch them on a Taiwan PS3?
Thanks in advance for your answers. Peace.

could somebody please tell me if my UK Pal ps3 will work in the USA as i am moving there to live soon, i have the 40GB version and have heard that US PS3īs have a universal PSU so they work in britain, but what i havnt heard of is if the UK models also have a universal psu, if they dont would a step up converter make it work in the us and is it possible to get 1 of these that is silent as i have heard they make an annoying buzzing sound whilst in use!

I'm using the Asian version of the PS3 and can connect to both the U.S. and Japanese stores without any problems. I can play in English and can play with others online as well. I'm currently living in Thailand but I'm American so that's why I had to get this version. No problems so far so it should work for all of you who are concerned as well.
