I usually have a 70% signal strength, but it seems like every 20 minutes my PS3 disconnects. I'll be playing Resistance and usually like every other game it will disconnect and I'll have to start a new game. Thanks.

Like this one:

Thanks, I was wondering... does that mean I have to have wires, because that means I'll have to drill holes in walls.

No it means get a wireless g supported router instead. Wireless N routers just wont work with playstation. There is a similar topic that talks about good routers to choose from.

Are you sure n routers won't work with the playstation 3 wifi . Linksys n routers are compatible with g and b devices, and the playstation uses IEEE 802.11b/g (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11) Wi-Fi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi).

Different WiFi standards. I think this covers it. http://www.pchardware.co.uk/wireless.php

Yeah but just because it supports wireless N doesn't mean that it works that much better. You need a N device on both ends to get the maximum results.

As for anyone looking at N I would not get it now, it is still Draft N which means that the final specifications of N might be not work with Draft N stuff, in most cases it won't.

Thats what I got, works perfect, if not try setting up a seperate AP closer to you PS3, or I think Netgear makes plugs you stick in the electrical outlets which relay the information.

WRT54G is a **** router i have one and wud disconnect me/reconnect me to the internet every 20 minutes

Now the problem with it is the unstable firmware and Linksys has no firmware that currently fixes this issue...

Ummm to fix this problem u wud need to get a third party firmware which i put on mine and it fixed the disconnecting problems... for more information go to
http://www.linksysinfo.org/
OR
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php <--- the party that made the firmware that fixed my problem

The problem does not happen with all versions of the WRT54G...

I recommend doing some research like what version u have, which third party firmware works best with your version etc. before u actually attempt anything
