Apple logo causes confusion, rumor debunked

By: Dusty Stokes

After a member of PS3Forums.com spotted an Apple logo on the official PS3 website, a wildfire of rumors have been spreading around the internet that Sony and Apple have formed a partnership for Sony's new gaming console.

The logo was seen by clicking back on your browser and loading the main page on the site, and was only visible for a fraction of a second.

Since the birth of this rumor, Apple and Sony fans have come to the conclusion that the logo appears not on purpose, but because of mistakes made in the web design for Sony's site.

The web developers for Sony were using a trial versions of "Shake," a program developed by Apple. Since it was a trial version, the Apple logo was rendered in the background.

Joystiq.com has been keeping up on this subject, and has contacted a Sony PR about the matter. The response that they got further suggests that the logo was accidental -- "We called Sony's PR and, after a few tries, they finally saw it, too. They were as surprised as we are. After finally seeing it, their response: "that's f---king funny." The PR firm is looking into it. We'll keep you posted as the story develops."

Sony and Apple have yet to make any announcements about the confusion, but as soon as more information is available, we will let you know.

I read that, but I believe that Bhav is wrong on this one. If IGN will cover the story, then we should too.[/i]

Since you've already written it up, and because it's a good article, I'll get it up.

Justin, this isn't a gross wrongdoing against you - it's just that Bhav changed his mind on this. My opinion is that it should be covered from the start, with Bhav's analysis included in the article. I will give you half an article's credit Justin for what happened.

What put me off was this:

"There is now the possiblity that Itunes may appear on the PS3 as a feature or perhaps something new or even Tiger OS X as an operating system."

I didn't want that to appear in the article is any form.

Calm down - you wrote loads of articles anyway.

Well I knew it wasn't true so I was ready to write up the responce from Sony to the whole matter. But its okay...I just feel like I am getting screwed ...lol

Don't feel like that - you wrote many good articles, and this is Dusty's first in a while. Hopefully he'll get back into it ;)

I think that Justin should write one up on his article, and then we can post it under an earlier date, that way we have the whole story covered on our site.
