I think it has to do with an upgrade on BC (from a translation anyways)
But I hope they threw in a fix for Blu-rays freezing as well

There's at least 3 threads including the official upgrade thread.
It adds strebthening to PS3 software whatever the **** that means.

There could be a concern this may be a security patch for a possible bootloader. I dont got any inside info, but I can see how someone may be concerned that Sony got ahold of some info and is trying cover their arse. I would be against this however.
