Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!! Two words to describe this blu-ray movie.
First I want to point out that it is 1:85 not 2:35 so it is full, wide screen.
second the PQ is outstanding, start to finish probably the best tier 0/1 ive seen.
audio, again top notch, and i dont have a hdmi reciever yet only optical and i was blown away.
the actual movie was non stop, no "dead moments" i was mezmorized the whole time. you all know what its about , but if you dont its about a guy that get injected with a poison that affects his adrenale gland, and he must keep the adrenaline flowing or he dies. and wow, he keeps it going any way possible, including banging amy smart in the middle of china town. A+ for the movie, i hope you all buy or rent it soon!

Crank may have been one of the best blu-ray as far as picture quality

It was good for the action junkie IMO but I wasn't overly impressed with it either, it was good, but there wasn't enough substance to it.

Agreed! The movie in general sucked even though it was similar to Speed the movie. Speed was even way better than Crank (entertainment). Crank is one of the best picture quality wise blu ray movies out there though. I still regret getting that movie (Crank) because it was just horrible. There was no point/purpose in the movie whatsoever. It was about nothing at all.

Oh god.. I never understand these movies..... its the stupidest idea for a film of all time!! Some contrived tripe, some excuse of a writer probably sat there thinking "we need something.... but what" and came up with this, I mean.... man.. the golden age of movies is LONG DEAD.
This is an opinion, and I dont dog on people for liking this crap. Its just how I feel. I will not touch this BD with a ten foot pole.

I bought it because I like over the top action movies, but this was just like swallowing a bitter pill. Which is a shame because I liked him in the Transporter movies.

wow really? i thought he was WAY better in Crank. I really wouldnt classify this as an "over-the-top" action movie... more like a "underground-action-comedy." Its littered with dark humor galore, its still pretty underground (not many people have heard about it when it was in theatres) and when there was action it was pretty bad ass. Also, the ending, Best Ending to any movie, EVER. (sorry yeah this is all my personal opinion... this is actually one of my favorite movies) XD

couldnt agree with you more! :) The ending was killer, and i love the comedy in it

I loved this movie, so I picked it up the day it hit the shelves... It's not a quality action movie script by any means, but, it is one of those movies that'll hit a niche of fans... I like the humor in it, and Jason Statham is one of my favorite actors at the moment... All of his movements just have energy to them, heh...
So many funny moments:
"Al-Qaeda, Al-Qaeda!"
"I'm alive"
His friend, Kaylo with the rolling pin and his earlier day-dream of what he did last night... hehe
"How freakin' awesome was that"
When he's "pretending to hold a gun" at people... and Verona starts praying

Underground? Your kidding right? I'm not being a jerk to you here, but if this is your idea of "underground" then you have no concept of what an underground movie is.... for starters an underground movie would be something that you would have to go out of your way to find, not walk into the first store that sells DVDs and see 20 of them sitting there. It was in major theaters for gods sake, with commercials on TV!
i enjoyed the movie, nice editing, cutting edge angles, funny dialog, and an overall nice action flick pace we've been missing as of late. overall nice BR purchase, exactly the kind of flick to showcase what BR is capable of.

I liked Crank, but I don't think it's anything special. I can't really comment on the quality of the blu-ray picture but I'm sure it's great.
The best action movie I've seen in a while or maybe ever is V for Vendetta...if that's even an action movie.

This was my first movie for Blu-ray and some of the scenes are so crisp it's crazy! the scene that had the best quality to me was when the main character was in the swimming pool, talk about crystal clear :shock:
That movie rocks, action packed! It´s a guys movie =)
Crank is one of the best movies I saw last year and one of the best Blu-rays I have seen!
the story is kinda weak but the picture and sound are pretty spectacular. definitely a tier 0 picture:)
lol i saw it yesterday on DVD, and i liked that part when the main guy goes after the bad guy's brother in the restaurant and he chops off his hands. then the gay guy starts to fight him in the alley way. haha

:P i meant it has more of an underground following than a mainstream fanbase... I know it was all up in ur theaters stealin ur time, but in my opinion, it had a more "indy" feel to it.
it cost about 11M to make, and has made over 22M (ballpark numbers i got from some boxoffice statistic site, cant find it right now. google that crap)
All in all, it was enjoyable, different from your average movie.. as well as one of the best PQ blu-ray movies to date.
i Laugh thinking about it but through the whole movie i kept saying to myself "YOU CAN COUNT THE STUBBLE ON JASONS CHIN!!!"
And yeah that pool scene was amazing... you can see every single drop of water glisten their faces...

This is why I'm very happy that I don't listen to other people when it comes to movies and stuff. If I listened to critics or half the people on this site, I would have never watched the movie.
This is also why I don't agree with things like "ISF Calibration", while it may be technically "correct" I don't like someone else telling me what my picture should look like. If I like it bright with blown out whites, that's what I want, if the colors are slightly off, but they look better to ME that's what matters.
It's the same deal with movies, I absolutely LOVED Crank, I've now watched it 4 times and I will watch it many more times and keep enjoying it.

Crank was good for a 1 time view if you ask me so i would only rent it on blu-ray just to see how crisp it is.

I can't beleive you guys actually took this movie seriously... it sure doesn't. Jason is even playing a character pretty much mocking his own transporter character. If you buy this expecting a great enthralling interest peice, you'll be disappointed, but if you want non-stop hilariously over the top action that you won't be able to turn away from in it's highest possible quality it's well worth the money.
One of the reasons this movie looks so good is it was all filmed with HD Digital camera's... no data loss etc.
