Ok so i have problems with Full Auto2 online it give me a warning about my connection.
it says that my connection is running on a Strict NAT type and it wont let me join some players....
i was ok is just FA2 (Resistance is ok) but 2day i tried chatting with someone and the NAT type message was on the XMB so it said to go to
Settings> Network Settings> Internet Connection Test

The test was good until Upnp that failed and afther that was the NAT type but i could not check cause Upnp failed.
im using a wired connection directly with to the modem i dont have a router yet so maybe thats the problem do you guys know what it is?

I'm assuming that your modem allows multiple internet connections to be made through it, so in that case it would be a modem/router. Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 things that might help. Try directly plugging the PS3 into the modem with an ethernet cord. If that doesn't work, in the settings of your modem (if you know how to access it), change the firewall settings so no ports are blocked.

Oh, sorry, I thought you said wireless. In your internet browser, type in the IP address of the modem. It's most likely going to be the "default gateway". To get your default gateway, open up the command prompt (start>run> type in "cmd"). From the command prompt type in "ipconfig /all", and that should show your default gateway.

Getting a router isn't a bad idea, though they cost a bit, depending on whether you want wireless or not etc. They are brilliantly functional

Generally an NAT problem with a router is solved by 'Port Forwarding'.

Theres a really useful site with info how to do it (www.portforward.com), but the EASIEST way is to set up a DMZ on the console's IP.

I suggest getting a router, probably, but there are other ways, which are detailed above.

To answer Sonic, there may not be a password, or if you didn't set it, or someone else (professional who set your stuff up PERHAPS), then it will probably be in the instruction manuals, or some other piece of paper which came with it when you purchased.

well if you guys have a westell modem then you access your modem by typing 192.168.1.1 (this will work for westell modems from verizon) in your internet browser and some one asked about the password and stuff well it should be what you signed up for internet you signed up with cd program and stuff or what ever you did you can type that in srry im getting a little confusing if not them try putting admin or administrator for the sign in id name and for the password put password or admin . so

for sign in id try: admin, administrator
password put in: password or admin or administrator
this is ussaly works for people with verizon internet. try all the combinations. try it even if you dont have westtell modems. srry i if i got realy confusing try to make it out im low on time.

you cannot change your NAT type, i tried for madden. mine is a type 3 and it will not let me play some of my friends. i called my router costumer service(linksys) and they didnt even know what NAT was but they helped me open up some ports which didnt help at all

As far as I know, the NAT type is not something you set anywhere - it's something that's determined by the PS3, simply by checking accessability of some ports.

I have a LinkSys wireless router connected to a ZyXel modem/router. I've forwarded all ports from my modem to the wireless, and forwarded some ports to the PS3, and I still get a NAT 3 connection.

I haven't tried setting up a DMZ for the PS3, as that'd kill all ports to my PC. I might look further into this if it becomes a problem (I've only really played Resistance online, and that worked flawlessly. COD3 is another matter though).

Here is the ports I've forwarded to the PS3 (both UDP and TCP):

3074
6000-7000
10070-10080
28960
50000

I think some of them were for COD3, but I can't remember exactly ;o)

Does anyone know if there's any other ports I need to forward?
