Underworld - new clan leader is Major Ocelot

Ok, there are a few clans about, but all are for our northern hemishpere friends so i thought that I would start a clan for all Australian's and New Zealander's.

Please only apply if you live in Australia or New Zealand as time differences with other countries make it hard to co-ordinate. Also, please only apply if you getting one at launch initially as I don't want to fill up spaces for people that won't be getting it for 6-9 months. After launch, you can apply when you get your PS3. Although I will still accept people into the clan if they will get one, but a few months after launch; however you do run the risk of the clan filling up before you your PS3 and missing out on a spot.

I am getting Motorstorm and R:FOM at launch.

Also looking for name suggestions. When applying please advise type of roll you like to play in FPS and third person shooters (i.e. sniper, support etc) as I would like to have a balanced clan.

I would like to be able to have this clan on as many games as possible, so if you want in, you are in for all games that the clan endorses (by vote prior to release) as a game worth getting.

Please let me know if you think I need to add something.

EDIT: Rules about being in the clan
No glitching or cheating - instant boot from clan for offense.
No annoying crap over the comms.
Must play as a team.

Amen to that. I do the same on Battlefield 2. But sometimes some 10 year old kid that thinks he's "l33t0r m4ximu5" sometimes feels compelled to call me a n00b just cos I decide to draw attention away from the Squad Leader! :rolleyes: Another debate I guess.

Do you have a nick name? if so, use it or a modification of it. I made TwoHeadedFreak as I'm from Tassie. Just try and think of something funny that actually has a meaning to your life and you will find it easier to come up with a name IMO.

Yes, there will definetly be practice, we'll need it if we are able to play against NA as they have a huge head start on us.

I'm guessing you can have 40 in a clan. In all the socom games you can have double the amount of players that will fit on one team.

BTW - I have about 5-6 mates that aren't part of these forums that will be in the clan as well and will also be senior members. They are mates from socom, and they are not noobs. Hope that is cool with everyone.

If R:FOM supports ranks within the clan, then yes. Don't worry about the size, we only have 10 from ps3forums and another 6 makes 16, I think R:FOM supports 40 in the clan?

If there is a game that doesn't support as many members as we have, then we simply make a second clan which would be like a second platoon. The first would be the elite clan and second would be the support clan.

We have a long way to catch up on the US and Japanese on R:FOM and full international servers will be released in May, so we'll need the practice on it before that. We will probably do COD3 before Rainbow 6 Vegas (don't quote me on that though).

Guys i just paid off more of my ps3 today and i saw that EB Games had a display and was playing motorstorm and F1 and showing us what u can store on the ps3 it was AMAZING the graphics was awesome for both games and he was showing us motion sensing

It will be midnight local time, so NZ will get it first followed by me - LOL - I mean Oz (Vic, NSW & Tas) Queensland has to wait an extra hour as they don't have daylight saving (ha ha). SA has to wait 30minutes, then NT 1.5 hours and finally WA 2 hours.

Everybody got a headset? When we're playing Motorstorm online, if you host the game and don't have a headset, nobody can use it. Hopefully my Bluetooth HS has no dramas pairing. See all you guys online.

Ok people's, time is running out to register your interest to join 'Underworld' on these forums. Once the PS3 comes out I will be managing the clan within each game (too hard to try and manage a clan in 2 separate places). People who join on these forums will get preferential treatement when it comes to creating the clan on other games (i.e not every game will allow as many memebrs as resistance, so some members may be left out in some games). Having said that, I would like to create secondary clans for games which don't support as many members as R:FOM for those that miss out on the main clan and maybe even do it on R:FOM if we get big enough.

That is to the first 20,000 (in Australia, 500,00 all up for Europe) that register their consol online, not their PSN ID. Not as far as I know. I've played through most of the JP version. The closest thing I think are dual machine pistols.

It's happened to me like 5 times before so I kind of expect it to happen, it only happens because I usually rock up just before the store closes and they are all gone, my fault no one elses. Even if I don't get it on launch I will have enough for about 2/3 games, Resistance, Motorstorm, Enchanted Arms ( what I like RPG's, sue me.) and maybe The Godfather (I'm like the only one on these forums that thinks its fun.). That's if my Xbox DVD remote comes soon so I can sell the Xbox on eBay.

Not as far as I know. I've played through most of the JP version. The closest thing I think are dual machine pistols.

It's happened to me like 5 times before so I kind of expect it to happen, it only happens because I usually rock up just before the store closes and they are all gone, my fault no one elses. Even if I don't get it on launch I will have enough for about 2/3 games, Resistance, Motorstorm, Enchanted Arms ( what I like RPG's, sue me.) and maybe The Godfather (I'm like the only one on these forums that thinks its fun.). That's if my Xbox DVD remote comes soon so I can sell the Xbox on eBay.

Nothing to be ashamed about for liking RPG's. I like them too, even better if they're online. When I get enchanted arms we might be able to play some online co-op (if it supports it). I will be getting oblivion as well, but maybe not when it launches.

Hey guys, just got NZ versions of MotorStorm and Resistance. And as far as 'region coding' goes, it is utter bullcrap!

Moral of the story, DO NOT LISTEN TO 99% OF EB EMPLOYEES!.

Also, I won't be online till this Sunday, so I won't be able to get my ass handed to me by then. Mind you tough, I've had a bit of practice with the Sniper rifle in Resistance ;)

i'm currently having problems with my internet connection. i think its not fast enough for online gaming. its 256Kbps isn't enough it seems and i keep getting disconnected and ruins the gameplay. just asked for an upgrade and it'll happen sometime in 2nd week of april. if you see me online in resistance and then suddenly logging out, yup...thats my connection problem. so bear with me for a while.

I saw you in a game the other day dude, just joined in and you and animefreek was there. Managed to kill you both a couple of times but man i still need a lot of practice. I don't get killed that much but my number of kills always seems low as well. Not sure what i'm doin wrong, it's like everyone else is playing for heaps longer or just have people around to kill at every second... grr it's annoying sometimes

At your question, I'm pretty sure that you should be able to play US/JP games on your PS3. Well, if I can play NZ versions on my ps3, you should be able to as well (play a US version or something).

Yeah mate, the Noob tag is well gone. I was 23 - 8 at one stage... I had some freakish runs... (That's when snuffy was like, what gun are you using, expecting laark or something but I was just using carbine). I got 4 kills with a Laark in 1 hit, and 3 kills with 1 hedgehog... my best 2 sets of kills.

I love the carbine, it's my favourite gun in the whole game. And I definately prefer being human over Chimera...

Just try and make en effort to be on when we eventually start having clan wars (I think we need more mucking around/practice time first though), don't worry, we won't be waring every night, once or twice a week is probably ideal.
