Did you know that the PS2 could stream and play HD content? I was watching an old PlayStation Underground Demo (the first PS2 demo disc with OPM) and it had a segment of Broadband from E3 2001. Here they showed the PS2 streaming HD content from a server and another streaming HD content on the HDD.
Of course none of this came to fruit, but I think it shows what the PS2 can do, something now that the 360 and PS3 is doing. A lot of what Xbox did (this was before Xbox was even out) for online the PS2 was going to do, just never did. Sony had deals with Real media and Micromedia to help deliver the content. AOL was going to be the PS2 interface, which the XMB is now. It was pretty cool to go back and see all this. Many credit M$ for doing this, when in fact it was going to be the PS2. Sadly M$ just made it happen where Sony did not.

I didn't know it could too. I just wish I could prove it by showing the vid. But if anyone has the OPM demo disc check it out. I was pretty amazing the PS2 could do HD content.

Yes, many things were showed with the ps2. I remeber they said you can manage emails from it, and make movies and send them to freinds. But i think it had a good run and lived up to the hype. Look at God of War 2, the graphics look amazazing.

That was the AOL thing. A lot of that did come to fruit in Japan but for some reason it never did else where. They showed the AOL menu running on the PS3 in the video. It was cool, except it was AOL.

well thats not entirely correct. SONY might not have a lot going for the PSP
but hackers and homebrewers have plenty of sweet extra and cool features for it.

Yea but the average person wont know a thing about homebrew. Just like the mod chip for ps2 where you can play burned games.
