Based on the other downloadable games, Q*Bert doesnt seem to fit in. If they would have updated the graphics like lemmings maybe but in its current state, i dont think it should be there.

if you look at all the games we know that are coming out in the near future, all of them are at least somewhat orginal or take advantage of the ps3 graphics capabilities. if the PSN wants to differentiate itself from the comp, they need to make it seem like their DLC is higher quality.

i not trying to say Q*Bert is a bad game but they could have at least slapped a new coat of paint on it before they released it. classic titles are good and all but i believe quality orginal titles like flow and calling all cars will sell better.

also since it seems like they got ps1 emulation down, it is about time to be able to play ps1 games from the store on your ps3. those games should be classic enough for anyone.

screw all these retarded "classics" leave em all for XBLA, and give us more original titles like flOw.

I hope to god Sony doesnt clutter up PSN with more trash like this. Every single one of the Classic arcade games an be played online with your XMB internet browser via flash.

please dont let PSN become XBLA. (dont take this as flaming xbox live, just xbox live ARCADE)
Geometry wars was great, but where are the other awesome titles? if i wanted classic arcade games... I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT 2 NEXT GEN CONSOLES (or i would have bought a wii :P

My own quote from another topic... but it speaks my mind on this crap perfectly.

My opinion....why does it matter? Some people, me included might like some of these "Crappy Classics" and they did refresh the graphics they scaled it up and smoothed them out without drastically changing the games original look.

Maybe its because I grew up playing these games on Atari systems and Intellivision and at the arcade.....hell my first game machine was a radio shack pong knock off. I always bought games compilations like Midway Classics, Capcom Classics, Sega Genisis...love them. personally I cant wait for Joust, Rampage and the other classics they announced to hit the store. There is a market for them!!! So if you don't like them DON'T buy them! Simple as that! ...and STFU

It doesn't matter if it is there or not. Somebody, somewhere will want it. I do not like but that doesn't mean that a fan of classic arcade wouldn't.

I know what you mean, I hoped they would stay away from this kind of games as well. Maybe they should add a special catagory for it. But yeh the "don't like it dont buy it" is also valid I guess. I also do think their is a market for ps1 (ps2?) games downloadable/playable on ps3.

woah, settle down. i didnt think anyone would take offense to people saying they dont like the classic games in the store. i dont plan on buying any of these classic games because i would rather support the new titles being released so their developers will have more incentive to create more new title instead of releasing old stuff.

the point i was trying to make is that i would rather the PSN store be fresh and original rather than try to copy what XBLA has.

another thing, most of these classic have been put into some type of compilation in a ps1 title (eg. namco museum). if namco museum was released in the store and you could get a whole bunch of games for $5 vs just one (assuming the ps1 emulator is ready for the ps3)

settle down bro, the point is: ive played all this stuff back on my atari as well they are good "classics".

But i didnt buy a Playstation 3 to play atari games, in fact you can get emulators for PC that make the graphics of these games even better than the remakes.

I bought a PS3 for truly advanced graphics and games, i want to see the PSN advance in game technology, not regress back to the "good 'ol days."

like i said XBLA is littered with ultra crappy classic games and VERY FEW good next-gen titles for the casual gamer. Id hate for PSN to go that route as well.

Considering the lack of currently available titles on the PSN...any game is a welcome addition. My thoughts are once they get a feel for what will SELL ... the PSN will cater to the buyer's market. So, FYI, if you shell out for crap....the PSN store quickly fill up with crap, however, if you hold out for gems, the PSN store will--albiet slowely--offer more quality titles.

Ok Q*Bert probably wasn't a good title to put on PSN. Personally I do like the idea of having cheap games like this on the the network. It's just too bad they're not games that I'm actually wanting to play at the moment. I wouldn't mind if they had Parasite Eve 2, Forsaken, Soul Edge, Legacy of Kain, Warzone 2100, or some of the others I can't find anywhere. As for the originals like flow, good job! I hope they keep up the good work. Just keep the crap (Q*bert) out of there. I mean playing simple things like sudoku in HD is pretty cool. How about more puzzle games like Intelligent Cube, Tetris, or Dr. Mario (without Mario of course)! If people get creative with these new games it could be really interesting.

I personally don't mind what games they have on the PSN. As long as the keep updating it. Hopefully ever week once April is apon us. But I would just like to see more original content then remakes or HD updated classics.

If anything they need to update how the store handles before they add more content. Since its a chore to go through.

From my experiences on xbox live the arcade was my favorite and it shouldn't take away from the amount of origional games since these have all been built already and just need updating. Maybe more recent arcade ports like a flight game incorporating six axis would be a killer app

I'm with Stateside on this one: The free market will determine if these sorts of games are profitable to put on the PSN or not... and you get to cast your vote by buying (or not buying) the game.

Personally, I think PSN needs to do a better job categorizing their catalog, so it stays clean and neat: Easy to navigate.
