Yeah, just slide your credit card into the blu-ray slot. Bam. Debit card heaven.
Seriously. Don't do that.

Look in the bottom right corner of the card and if it says Visa or Master than you can use it as a credit card with the PSN. I'm unsure whether they accept American Express, as I didn't look too closely when I setup my online account. Very few places take American Express, most take Visa, Master, & Discover; I know the store I work in only takes these cards anyways.

Just like GameSpawn says, check the bottom right of your card. Debit cards alone can't be used as credit cards, but most debit cards now can be used as a credit card, IF they have the little credit card symbol. If the symbol is present, you can use it anywhere just like a real credit card (except it takes money out of your bank account).

lmao, that would be an amazing feature... I can see that on the PS4, because everything's said to be sold virtual. Just take out the CC, and slide it through a designated slot, and the game is paid for :D Awesome. lol

Slightly OT:
If you get a Target Credit Card, they used to give you a USB device that you can hook up to your computer and slide your credit card to pay for stuff online.
I thought it was pretty cool.

I like in the UK and the only card I own is a SOLO debit card. On the flipside I can see a Maestro and a Cirrus logo. Will this work?

Credit cards, and debit cards work, but it seems to depend on the issueing bank on the debit cards.
Also, if you dont have a CC you can use a Visa Pre-Paid Debit Card.
Just pick one up at your favorite department store.
