I hate the Mannings (apart from Peyton's commercials ;)) more than any team. I thought I'd join in on all the hating. 8)
Anyways, the Cowboys really are looking good on paper. However, T.O is scheduled for a meltdown, so I'd watch out ;).
I'm excited for the new staff at the Ravens. We could potentially have an offense that is not so predictable, that a commentator can predict 85% of the plays as they snap the ball.

and what about the damn vikings...... they had the best offseason and their only weak spot is at QB in which tarvaris is not that bad he just needs to learn. The only important person they lost was Tony Richardson their FB, and they replace him with Tapeh from the eagles and look at what he has done for the eagles.

My question to you. is Michael Strahan worth another season for the 8-10million he's asking for? Great photo shop work I like that.
I didn't do the photoshop work, I found them. I knew they would come in handy some day. ;)
That Vikings game was surreal. I remember that week being a blur as I surely wasn't watching ESPN that week. All the struggles of the year (of the last 17 years!) just made the playoff run that much sweeter! 8)
I think Strahan is most definitely worth it, and that he has earned it. I'd like him to be there for the defense of the championship. I'll be honest, if it was me I would retire on top. :)
If anyone tries to take away what Strahan has gone through to finally win a Superbowl they are idiots. He is in the top 5 DE's of all time.
If anyone tries to take away what Strahan has gone through to finally win a Superbowl they are idiots. He is in the top 5 DE's of all time.
Appreciate the kind words, Theft.
I've been thinking...
As much as I as a fan want him to return I think he should just retire. There is no better way to finish out a great career.
He will be a great announcer! <(insert gap)
Yeah I agree, he needs to retire on top.
Thanks for the memories, Michael! You represented the NFL and the NY Giants well!
I can't wait to see that charismatic gap tooth smiling in the booth! Live on Giant legend, live on! :)
Coming off Super Bowl win, Strahan to retire (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8225886?MSNHPHMA)
(http://msn.foxsports.com/writer/archive?authorId=228)Strahan has told FOXSports.com exclusively that he has decided to retire.
After a lengthy and — for Strahan — up-and-down decision-making process, Strahan said he's hanging up the cleats and wanted to finalize a decision before his teammates gathered for their mini-camp. For months fans, other players and his own teammates have wondered whether he would return or not.
"It was important that my teammates knew which way I was going before they got on the field to start the work to defend our title," the team's all-time sack leader said from California. "It's time. I'm done."
Strahan finally made up his mind a week ago but wanted to take the extra days to make sure his feeling on the matter was 100 percent.
He has long believed retirement was the route he would choose but the finality of it gave him problems. In the past two years Strahan said he has spoken with many high-profile retired players and asked for their advice on retired life, the emotions of the decision and how they knew they were done. The one consistent theme was this: once you're done, it's forever. Thus, the finality was what posed the biggest problem for Strahan in making the ultimate decision.
"It's a tough decision but I wanted to be fair to the Giants and fair to my teammates," he said.
He leaves the Giants as the team's all-time quarterback sack leader and a sure-fire first-ballot Hall Of Famer. He also leaves after having donned the Blue and White more than any player in Giants history.
A game well played Strahan. You will be missed.
In memory of Strahan (sorry Theft! ;))

Haha, 15 years! :) There were a lot of bad Giant teams in there... That is a long time in the NFL by anyones standards. People just look at things like sacks and pro bowls. Strahan was an all around player some of his best plays will never show up in his personal stats, if all Chris Carter did was catch touchdowns then all Strahan did was stop the run... for 15 ****ing years! :-D

Wow first off when the vikings went for 5 straight wins tavaris was amazing, your acting like he has never even showed any chance of having a future which he has, besides look at the 2001 ravens team who was their QB....who was their offense in general and look how far they got...Super Bowl, yes their defense was quite possibly the greatest of all time but look at the defensive roster for the vikings.
Second did you already forget about that free agent called Bernard Berrian that the vikings got, who was the only offensive producer of the bears..... and as a rookie last year Sydney Rice did damn good in my book.
Lastely you're acting like the vikings pass the ball a lot....... they have AP and chester taylor no need to pass :p

Plax's story today is a good thing. He feels it will get done and he is happy to be here and wants to finish his career here.
Bradshaw's stems from something in 06', nothing to worry about. He's had no issues since we drafted him. ;)
It's not like he just beat down some strippers or anything.
pleading guilty to resisting arrest and underage drinking, both misdemeanors, and being placed on probation. He rushed for almost 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in three seasons at Marshall after joining the team as a walk-on but also had another arrest, this time for allegedly stealing a PlayStation 2 video game.
He pleaded guilty in that case to misdemeanor petit larceny and was given two years probation. A 12-month jail sentence was suspended.

I think the people are severely underestimating my Broncos this year. Now that Jay Cutler won't be using 30 lbs. during the season this year he can keep his performance up.....Marshall is looking good as long as some defensive coordinator doesn't think up the plan to put a McDonalds bag on the field....the D hopefully won't get as banged up as last year...and hopefully Clady is the answer at LT to protect Cutler's blindside.

@pgsley the stadium is 65 percent completed will be open in spring of 2009 to a series of concerts. The stadium will have the largest scoreboard in the world expanding from the 20 yard line to the other 20 yard line 71ft high with true hd video and broadcast. go to www.dallascowboys.com (http://www.dallascowboys.com) and check it out. Glad to see the vikings are being the role model team :-)
How soon we forget...
The incident
A woman called police around 9:20 p.m. on October 6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_6) [2005] to report that approximately "seven black men" had urinated in her yard after exiting a "big shuttle bus (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Shuttle_bus&action=edit&redlink=1) limousine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limousine)", according to the transcript.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Vikings_boat_party_scandal#cite_note-2)
The woman later mentioned that the men were "sitting at Al and Alma's", the name of the charter cruise company that the Vikings players were later alleged to have used for the party.
Stephen Doyle, attorney for the charter company, said some of the sex acts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_acts) alleged by witnesses to have taken place during the party included, "Masturbation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masturbation), oral sex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_sex), anal sex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_sex), woman on man (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Woman_on_man&action=edit&redlink=1), woman on woman (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Woman_on_woman&action=edit&redlink=1), man on man (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Man_on_man&action=edit&redlink=1), toys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_toys), double penetration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_penetration), middle of the floor, middle of the couches, middle of the room."
The cleaning crew reported finding "used condoms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condom), K-Y Jelly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-Y_Jelly), Handi Wipes (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Handi_Wipes&action=edit&redlink=1), wrappers for sex toys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_toys)" and said "it was just incredible how it was left. Never in the history of this group of people have they ever had anything like this.'"

You tell me what more you can ask for from any team or player in any sport. Win when it matters, because that is all that matters. Maybe it's better to be the Bills... or the Pats last year...
(I cannot believe you compared The New York Football Giants to a purple expansion baseball team)
That list is laughable.
I have to agree with So here and not just cause I am a GIANTS fan as well.... That list is an all out insult... How can you pick the Pack to go to the playoff's with an unproven back as Roger's????
And to Day how can you be tired of Gints fan's we have one good year, and Defeat the Pats who were 18and0 at the time and very heavy favorites... I think we have earned a little bit of bragging right's.....:DD
That list is laughable.
I could easily say your whole conference is laughable though....

You are just like the rest of the NFL and give no respect to the GIANTS... And that is fine they prefer it...
But I can't see how you can say that we will not ATLEAST make the playoff's.... I am not saying we will win the division or anything but I think we will make the playoff's...

hey- i was as pleased as anyone that the Giants not only beat the Pats (just ask theft) but they also knocked out the Cowboys- who I love to watch lose.
But there is a reason the Giants are the least respected SB champion in NFL history...
Coughlin is still the coach.
Eli is still the QB.
(sorry but neither of these guys has convinced me yet)
Burress and Shockey are still *****ing...
All its gonna take is a couple losses to divisional rivals before the team and city make a predictable turn for the worse.
Quote me!!!! Giants will miss the playoffs. And New York will once again be asking for Coughlin and Eli's head...
edit-------------------
I wanna play theft
NFC:
Seattle, Tampa, Dallas, Minnesota (yeesh), Philly, Green Bay
thats what I came up with...

I am not taking away from the Giants but one superbowl last year compared to the streak of the AFC is obviously what your missing here. :)

Least respected SB champ just means that it was the most amazing upset ever! Simply put, it was the greatest win/run in sports history! 8)BTW, it sounds so nice hearing you call my boys the SB champs! :D
Kinda funny, I try to think of some junk to say about the Broncos, but who the are they? Champ, Cutty and a Travis...

SoDev as much as I love the Giants I even have to admit that was a bit bold for our team that has yet to even make it to the NFC Championship 2yrs in a row....

Damn, missed out on a pretty good day in here. Vikings have done nothing and MD, check out the injury history on Peterson through college. He's no lock to stay healthy.
Giants fans should have the right to brag....but then again we have the right to bring them down a few notches. Eli sucks bad, he can't even hold his brother's jock. But then again Dilfer won a ring so it's not about the QB. That D-Line won that Super Bowl and you lost a HOF player from it. Let's see how Osi does without Strahan taking up the double teams. Don't get me started on Osi and his poop infatuation either. That's one sick ******* there.
Just to wrap up, I saw one of Theft's beloved Pats on the police blotter. I think I saw a Cleveland Brown too. What ever happened to that Mel Kiper....er...I mean pipes fella?

If you mean in the most recent years, I think the Pats. AFC has won 4 of the last 5 SB titles. They're dominant but I feel that people underestimate the NFC.
In the NFC you can have a poor record and make it to the playoffs but I feel as if that means that NFC is a very competitive conference. You can't determine the clear cut winners unlike the AFC where it's always the Colts, Patriots, & Jaguars. I love the AFC but the NFC deserves alot more credit than they've received.

@daywalker you really think the broncos are going to do anything this year. You have a coach thats been there too long who has forgotten what plays he's calling. The average Bronco fan is still waiting for John Elway (MR. ED)with his buck teeth to come out of retirement and lead them to a superbowl.

I don't think the Broncos are quite there yet either but I feel it has nothing to do with Shannahan. I feel it has to do with the lack of run support & the lack of production from the passing attack. Once Cutler tones down the picks & they bulk up on the D-Line, it'll take alot of pressure off of the head coaches & allow them to be more than 1 dimensional. It's a rebuilding process

why you gotta change the subject? I wasn't touting the Broncos this season, I just said they would the Boys and the Chiefs... no big deal.
Denver will struggle to be over .500 this year... if they stay healthy tho I could see a 10 or even 11 win season.
Shanahan is still a great offensive mind- I don't know what u are talking about... his front office skills are in question.
Elway is and was the greatest QB of all time- REPENT AND THOU SHALL BE SAVED.
Cutler will take Denver to a SB... and I would wager relatively soon... and before Romo or Rivers.

Green Bay Packers (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/GB)Updated:07/03/2008At a time when some fans are still mourning the retirement of Brett Favre, or hoping he will change his mind, Aaron Rodgers' comments in Sports Illustrated might sting Packers backers all the more, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The magazine asked Rodgers if he feels pressure to connect with the fans and Rodgers stated that fans need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut.I like all the NFC predictions on Green Bay. It's like Favre never left. Do people realize how good his season was last year? It was his 3rd best year of his HOF career going by QB rating! ...and they think this un-proven cheese di...head is going to fill his shoes.
At the same time rumors of Favre wanting to come back are creeping up. I has spect for Favre, but he is the biggest drama queen when it get to retire time.
