MD,

Doesn't need to be threads, they just get you more. Post threads cause you want to, not for sp. 4-5 posts a night in the main sections will rack up points.

This and general chat sections now gets half points, used to get none.

Forum games gets nothing.

#1- I ****ing Hate You, Cade McNown, You Weak Armed Snot Nosed Little **** Bag (http://startkyleorton.blogspot.com/2007/11/1-i-****ing-hate-you-cade-mcnown-you.html)

We finally reach the worst Bears quarterback of my lifetime, and this should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with Bears football. Cade McNown was a horrendous disaster of a quarterback, and no other period of my life as a Bears fan has been quite as painful as his two year reign of terror. The scars of the Cade McNown experience have never quite faded away, and every quarterback the Bears sign or draft is immediately scanned for the potential to be the next Cade. So now, I present to you the story of Cade McNown: "Quarterback", *********, Failure.
http://bp3.blogger.com/_sIEiInrrYEQ/RzzSQx3iWII/AAAAAAAAALA/hthC-dSbz74/s320/Cade.bmp (http://bp3.blogger.com/_sIEiInrrYEQ/RzzSQx3iWII/AAAAAAAAALA/hthC-dSbz74/s1600-h/Cade.bmp)
The story of Cade's journey with the Bears begins before the 1999 NFL draft. The Bears were one of the teams looking to cash in on the 1999 Quarterback Crop, which was supposed to be provide the next generation of great NFL quarterbacks. The crop was compared to the 1983 quarterback class which featured Dan Marino, John Elway, Jim Kelly, and Jim O'Brien. Heading into the 99 draft Kentucky's Tim Couch, Oregon's Akili Smith, Syracuse's Donovan McNabb, UCLA's McNown, and Central Florida's Daunte Culpepper were all touted as first round picks and sure-fire NFL stars. Couch, Smith, McNabb, and McNown were featured on the cover of ESPN the magazine

I loved Reggie Bush in USC but if he doesn't become a tougher RB, he might as well switch positions. He was known for speeding past every college player but it's harder when everyone runs a 4.4 40 in the NFL. He struggles on inside runs. He needs to create separation

There's your quote lol. Dolphins will most definitely win more than 1 game for 2 reasons:

1) They lost a bunch of close games last year

2) They did alot this offseason

Titans will be good. Vince will throw more TDs than INTs

Yeah, both of those facts are true. I was so mad when the lost to the Giants in London, it was such a close game.

The Dolphins did a great job in the NFL Draft aswell. Bill Parcells definately made some smart decisions with the people they drafted. Also then they picked up that DLineman from the Cowboys and the LB from the Giants (can't remember their names), were awesome pick ups.

I give it about 2-3 more seasons before the Dolphins are a playoff team. They have alot of rebuilding to do. I said earlier in this thread that they should pick up Chad Hennington and drop Josh McClown, but I believe the smarter choice would be for them to still pick up Chad, however, drop Josh Beck instead. Chad starts, McCown's 2nd string and Chad Henne is 3rd string learning alot about the NFL and the Dolphins offense. I'm really stoked with all the changes Parcells and Sparano made. They both are incredibly smart men when it comes to football.

As for the Titans, I hope I see a huge improvement with them.

My thoughts and assessments of last night preseason game. Our first string defense matched up against there first string offense. On that note, take a close look at Kenny Phillips, you all (NFC East) will be knowing him for years to come.

Hey Sith...where's the Adam Jones saves the world talk now? Less than stellar debut.

Adam (Pacman) Jones, who may not know until Sept. 1 if he will be fully reinstated from his NFL suspension, played in his first NFL game since the 2006 season finale for Tennessee.
Jones, who didn't start at cornerback, drew one of the pass interference penalties, got beat by Chris Chambers on a 21-yard pass and missed a couple of tackles. Jones had one tackle.
"I haven't played football in a year, so it's a little cool. I love competing. It won't be like this for long," Jones said. "I just have to work on my tackling. I think everything else will come along. I did OK guarding people for being out for a little while."

I expected better out of him last night. I will give him the year off from football excuse. The guy is rusty and out of shape. There were two other rookies perform better than him last night if he even wants to think about getting in the line-up. There are more preseason games to be played so he has time to improve his technique.

You're a wise man. I guess you can pretty much say that Adam Jones isn't used to the speed of the game yet. I think he'll do fine and I'm praying he'll stay out of trouble. If he doesn't, I could use the million dollar paycheck he gets to be an NFL pro.

Donovan McNabb has looked sharp in his preseason game as well as rookie WR DeSean Jackson. McNabb looks as if he's finally 100% healthy as his passes are being placed more accurately.

according to michael david smith of profootballtalk.com (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/12/johnson-wants-to-be-ocho-cinco-legally/), bengals wide receiver chad johnson has taken the first steps in the state of florida toward legally changing his last name to ocho cinco.
http://www.giantsfootballblog.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/ochocinco.png
if johnson follows through on this, his actual, legal name will be chad ocho cinco, and the nfl would then (we assume) allow him to put his new last name on the back of his jersey.
From a business standpoint, this might be chad’s way of picking up some of the extra cash that he wants to make but that the team has said it won’t give him. The jersey would instantly become one of the nfl’s top sellers, and nfl players get a cut of all sales of their jerseys.
this is going beyond what i ever thought it would be.

PACMAN SLAMS MARSHALL (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/13/pacman-slams-marshall/)

Posted by Mike Florio on August 13, 2008, 2:21 p.m. EDT
The Cowboys and the Broncos got together on Wednesday for a joint practice (a term that doesn’t mean what Pacman Jones thought it meant). After the session Pacman was asked about Denver receiver Brandon Marshall, and specifically how Marshall compares to Terrell Owens.
“He’s nowhere near T.O. (http://cbs4denver.com/broncos/broncos.cowboys.jones.2.794280.html),” Jones said. “He’s a good athlete, but he ain’t on T.O.’s level. T.O. is 10 times faster and 10 times bigger. I wouldn’t say he’s nowhere near T.O.”
The irony here is that the guy to whom Marshall has been compared for his off-field antics is talking about whether Marshall compares to another guy for his on-field antics.
The best approach for all of them is to shut up and play football (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/13/pacman-slams-marshall/#).

Lethalmind
08-13-2008, 22:28
T.O. Is good but he drops more passes than anyone in the league. Brandon Marshall is very young. I wouldn't even categorize him with T.O because he isn't as experienced. He doesn't know the Ins & Outs of Football yet. I'll pass judgement once I see more from him.

And I'm happy he ain't being a drama queen although I had to chuckle at the "That's my quarterback" speech after the playoff game. If there is one thing I can say it's that he's a great Football player.

He works real hard to be as good as he is. If he can have just a little bit more consistency catching passes he'll become completely unstoppable. But let's not forget Marvin Harrison though...

To say TO has evolved is inaccurate at best. What was Dallas last year? 13-3? 12-4? It's easy to STFU and not show your *** when everything is going your way. Put TO on a non playoff team and tell me he's evolved.

Terrell Owens has always seemed like such a waste to me. He my have one of the most naturally gifted bodies (ever for anyone) for a WR, but he just hangs out with the best in the league when he should blow them away. There is not a doubt in my mind that if he wasn't such a man child in mind he could have went down as one of the greatest recievers ever. He may end his career with great numbers, but he could have been so much more.

And yes, he drops more passes than any other top reciever in the league.

If it were that simple a concept, any team in the NFL would've done that to stop him. It's simply raw attributes. It's extremely difficult to guard a receiver who's like 6'5 who just so happens to runs faster than you and has great hands. He also runs good routes.

Pressuring brady to throw the ball faster would be the best bet just like you said. Zero blitzes have a small chance to work (I mean in real life of course.) but you have to completely sell out. Blitz maybe 1 or 2 people and just get in #12's face. He can't see with a 300 LB. Linemen in his mug.

A league source tells us that the Patriots have agreed to terms with safety John Lynch.
Lynch, a nine-time Pro Bowler, could assume the role that the team was exploring for Tank Williams, who recently landed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Williams had been practicing at linebacker.
At this stage of his career, Lynch probably is a better fit playing closer to the line of scrimmage. Besides, the team already has a Lynch-style safety in Rodney Harrison.

Should be interesting if true. I would like to see Lynch play as a LB.

Theft - Lynch to the Pats is nothing to be excited about. He's 2-3 years over the hill and I would be worried if he actually started for you guys.

As for the wide receiver chatter. Moss won't even sniff half of Rice's records which are the ones that really matter. Marshall has potential but shouldn't even be compared to TO, he's not in that league yet and based on his knack for getting into trouble, he'll never get there. Wayne passed Harrison 2 years ago and I agree with Daywalker...he's the best in the league today.

Not sure why people are on Cutler's jock....I had that piece of junk on my fantasy team last year and he was middle of the pack at best.

That's all for now. Sith and SoDev, you may continue your slap fight.

For example- last year it was plain as day that the Broncos run defense was going to be terrible.
Sure enough... worst run defense I have seen since the Colts.

This year, so far, we're not seeing a clear weak link...
Cutler looks phenomenal is camp and in the games and clearly has a grasp of the playbook and is an undisputed team leader.
The defense is improved- but lets be honest it couldn't have gotten much worse. And its only gonna get better once the guys who are a little dinged up get back.

Alright ladies, there is obviously a difference of opinion on what they think matters. So could we just move on and fill this thread with things that are more pointless and less serious.

Thanks,
Management

Well, you better hope I'm right considering last nights game *cringe fest*

It's alright, Giants tonight at 8:00pm est. ESPN, be there!

If they play good "it's only preseason", if they play bad, "Giants suck, see they got lucky!"

A win win! ;)

I am not worried about my team but if they are still playing like that in week 3 then I will start to worry.

I'm worried about my team regardless of what they do in the preseason.

That's not much to look forward to then..... Besides that I probably won't see much but Jets Football this year because I'm pretty sure CBS will broadcast nothing but Jets.
