Imma have to get rid of my old Reggie jersay and get a new one. Also. LT needs to retire. And, whats the latest news on Brett Farve?

The Boy From School

Keep that Bush jersey. I feel LT can still contribute. Brett Favre is done, me thinks. I think he meant it this time.

RIP Danny Woodhead.

While Larry Fitz is a SUPER-BEAST, he is not the best WR in the league. One Andre Johnson and Megatron (Calvin Johnson) would love to have a few words with you at the round table immediately.

Yeah, they still have 'em. You might wanna try NFL.com or ebay as they should have the all black alternate. I wanted it for when I went up to Jersey last year against the Jets in the opener. But I had to get a swingman all black Ngata jersey. I meant, I wanted an authentic all black jersey not the screenprint.

Well what another eventful week its been for the Raiders I didn't see the 9er gme but heard the reports on how bad our 2nd/3rd stringers played.

But in more important news 2 guys got shot outside Candlestick one of the guys was a Raider fan sporting a Fuck the Niners Jersey don't know about the other guy Anyways this will surely make sure that the Raiders/Niners don't play each other for a Looong time.

Anyways Raiders just gave up a 3rd round pick for Tyrelle Pryor the only problem is no one knows what his best position is lol QB/WR/TE or Linebacker...j/k Anyways im pretty sure Al will appeal against his 5 game College Ban. as Rapistbeurger only got a 4 game ban for two Rapes but Pryor gets 5 for selling some College stuff.

While I was never a big supporter of Rex, if you honestly think he is the worst QB ever, then you have obviously not watched much football. There are plenty of QBs that are worse...and are still playing in the NFL. Or, even an idiot like Trent Dilfer who, like Grossman, got to the superbowl because of being on a team with great D. Grossman has a higher career passer rating than even he does. Personally, I think Grossman is a decent option as a backup QB. Certainly better than Todd Collins was...

Based on most of your comments, I'm ashamed that your a Bears fan. I'm not sure you actually understand football. Or maybe you're just a meatball like most
Bears fans are. I guess most people don't really understand that preseason is a scrimmage game, used by coaches to evaluate players and get them up to game speed. While you can gauge the performance of certain aspects of the game, you can't just say "my team lost, they're shit." If you think the product on the field in a preseason game represents the team that plays all year, then I feel sorry for you.

You know what the best thing to happen in a preseason game is? Not having injuries. Ask the Giants how they feel about their win...I'm sure they'd rather have two of their starting CBs that are out for the year.

Raiders didn't have a 4th pick so used up a 3rd Comp pick on him as there was Rumors that the Redskins and Dolphins were looking to take him (even Pryor himself said he thought he was going to Miami So The Raiders didn't want to take that risk.

Wow, I shouldn't be surprised but I am. I personally still think last year was somewhat of a fluke, the teams will have caught on by now as the NFC south did before. The division is still their's for the taking though.

I saw it on ESPN. 4 years for 53 million, which is more than 11 million per year. With that type of contract, there's not telling how much AP's next contract will be worth.

R_Mac_1
09-02-2011, 07:12
CJs contract was an extension, so it's actually 6 years 56 million or something like that, adding the 53.5 to his salary he was due for the next 2 years. So it actually averages out to 9 million a year, not the 13 that ESPN and such were reporting.

At least, that's what I've read today.

If I knew how to play I would be in

Lethalmind

If I knew how to play I would be in
The jist is:

- Through a draft, you assemble a team of your favorite/best NFL players

- On a week to week basis in head-to-head competition against other fantasy teams in your fantasy league, you create a lineup of players that you feel will be the most productive in the actual game irl.

- The point system is based on how well your players do. You accumulate points based on receiving yards, rushing yards, passing yards, turnovers (positive points for defense, negate for offense), and touchdowns. If your team performs better than your opponent's team, you win.

We'll most likely end up missing a week at this rate due to the season coming so soon, but if anyone still wants in, I'll create a league tonight. Just don't expect a major prize since this was short notice....

PM me if you're interested

EDIT: IF people want to start this week, the draft would have to be held sometime tomorrow since the first game will be on Thursday. It's you guy's call.

They explained the rule for the punt/touchback. It's a continuous motion play. That was the right call. Also the PI, was also a good call. The last play called, I agree, was dumb. PA bootleg, TE rollout was what I called. Ran it up the guy, and got stuffed.

On the good side of things, my Bears dominated the Falcons and it's looking like the NFC North is showing the NFL that they might be the best division in football. Finally! Someone gets it! I've been saying it for the last two years in this thread! The Falcons are frauds! Fraudy Ice isn't what y'all think he is.
It's just funny to hear all these ESPN "experts" talking about Matty Ice being the second coming of Dan Marino or something. While I'm not saying he's awful or anything, he's just not as good as people make him out to be. He's played behind a very good line and has always had an excellent running game and receivers. He also takes very little risks, doesn't stretch the field, and is content to play it safe and dump the ball off rather than throwing it down the field. His very low YPA (Yards per passing attempt) proves it. The Falcons were among the lowest in the league in 20+ yards plays last year because of it. He's a good QB to have when you have a lead and a solid running game, because he makes safe decisions and manages the game. If you need some big plays to get back into a game, I'm not sure he's the guy to count on.

He's a rich man's Kyle Orton, basically.

Tony Romo was clutch as usual tonight.

Also, attention opposing QBs: beware the Bears defensive line. I think we're going to have our 2005-2006 form back. Our coaches have been raving about Henry Melton, and now we see why. Today, he had 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss and 7 QB hits. That kind of pressure from the middle with Peppers on the outside will be a thing of beauty. Not to mention the depth we have.

I've been saying that too! Tony Romo is a fuckin' fraud! I hate him so much! All he had to do was MANAGE THE GAME! No, he wants to be a Tony Romo and what does he do? FRAUD! The Jets are winning in spite of Mark Snachez who spots every team 14 points with his fraudulence! But nobody cares because the other team and/or defense bails him out 90% of the time! Two frauded QB's on a Sunday night... awesome!

If this weekend was any indication (I'm looking at you Indy ...) this could very well be another crazy upset!

Side note: I fired up the PS3 Sunday Ticket app, kind of cool, much faster/better/more feature rich UI vs. the DTV STB, but the video was inconsistent so we had to opt for glorious HD over doodads.

I still hate the NFL for how they've made the game 'appealing' to casuals. 500 passing yards is just un-fucking-acceptable in my book. Goes to show the NFL is a scripted reality show. Case in point...

1) Brady - 500yds
2) Fraudchez - 300+ yds
3) Henne - 400 yds

My Ravens didn't deserve to win. When you play like ass, you deserve to get your ass whooped. Cam Cameron has shown flashes of brilliance while other times (Most) he'll show stupidity. Today was one of those days. Flacco goes on to score when the Titans couldn't do anything with him in quick slants and the Shotgun formation. But what does Cam call? He calls for Go Routes with Boldin and short outs with our speedster, Lee Evans.

Then you have Harbaugh opting for a field goal on 4th and goal while down 2 scores with 5 minutes left. Defense did what they could with what they had. Dominque Foxworth has shown time and again he's a fraud and this should make Harbaugh think twice about putting my damn 1st round draft pick Jimmy Smith on Special teams again! But the Titans played well for the most part. They gave the Ravens plenty of opportunities to win the game and take control, but my offense (as usual) decided to sleep walk through the game until it was too late.

At least the crowning has stopped since the Pitt game. Now we're back to Tyrod Taylor should be starting on the radio.

Good win for the Ravens. Taking advantage of an inferior opponent. They should have done that last week, but we're not going to look in the past. Up next is the New York Jets. I want you all to know that I believe the Jets are frauds. I'll repeat myself so you know I'm serious. The New York Jets are frauds. They have a very beast mode defense that bails Mark Sanchez out who is a complete fraud. They win games in spite of him, but I won't knock what he's done in the playoffs as he has beasted.

We went up to the Meadowlands last year and got with them in their own house. Luckily for me I actually got to see the game in person up there and saw what I needed to see in person. I'm calling it early... 27-14 Ravens win it as I can't see us losing to them at home. If we had to go back to the Meadowlands (A.K.A Metlife stadium) then maybe I'd say something different, but I can't see the Jets coming to The Bank and beating the Ravens.

The football weekend was almost perfect, but the Steelers and Browns won. But who cares... Ravens are in first place!

Vick isn't a 22 year old QB, he'll be 32 next summer. Even if they don't get rid of Vick immediately, they could still let Luck sit and learn (e.g. Aaron Rogers).

I just think they need a new voice now. I'm tired of hearing the same old tune from Andy Reid after a loss..."I need to do a better job coaching...blah, blah, blah." I'm sick of watching this team throw the ball all over the stadium BETWEEN the 20s and then suddenly stall in the red zone. I'm also sick of watching 150 lb linebackers who can't tackle.

13 years is enough of Reid and his stupid philosophies and bad decision making (e.g. promoting his offensive line coach to defensive coordinator ). Like McNabb two years ago, he had a good run, but there comes a time when change is necessary. The Eagles will never win a SB with him as the head coach.

Thank goodness for the Phillies...the real gold standard.

So, are you in, or should there be different terms?

To make it more interesting, If I win you have to change your sig and avy pics to pictures about your most hated team(s). And it can't say anything negetive. Also, you will change your username to something related to your most hated team, but it has to be something positive.

For example, If you win, I would change my avi to Aarron Rodgers, and my sig will have some packers pictures. Then my username would say "Packers, all day everyday" Or something weird like that :snicker

Tell me about it. The ineptitude of the front office and coaching staff is becoming pretty sickening. How hard is it to put an offensive line together that can actually make even halfway decent blocks. It's absurd.

Cutler and Forte played great. The rest of the team was pretty pathetic.

Hester will have great moments, usually in the return game. He has an occasional big catch. But, he also drops a lot of balls and has a tendency to lose yardage trying to bust a big play. He had a 10 or so yard loss in the game that was a bad turn in the game (a WR screen IIRC).

I was surprised at Cutler, though. After all the hits he's taken, he's looked shaky at times this season. Bad mechanics, forcing balls out too early sensing pressure, etc. Monday the Lions DL was getting a lot of pressure all game (the Bears OL was pathetic as usual) but Cutler looked poised and made great throws. It's too bad the rest of the team played like shit because we could have won the game with even a little help from the OL and defense in the 2nd half.

Is it time to fire Lovie Smith?

R_Mac_1
10-12-2011, 23:43
Possibly. He's had good success in his HC career there, but we DEFINITELY need a new GM, and if that included a new head coach I'd be fine with it. Lovie's Cover 2 defense has worked well at times, but this year has been very bad. Our biggest problem is the play of our defensive line and safeties, which are the two most important parts of the cover 2 defense. Between that and the fact that good teams have ways to beat the cover 2 makes me wish we were running a different style of D.

Honestly, the biggest problem with the Bears is they aren't adjusting to the NFL. The league these days is taking defense and special teams out of the game, which are the two biggest strengths of the Bears (normally). The days of having a great D and just handing the ball off to a RB to manage the game are gone. The Bears need to adapt to the league, bring in an offensive coordinator that knows how to play in today's NFL. Not one that is stuck on his scheme of 10 years ago. The sad part is that we have Mike Martz involved in putting together our offensive roster to try to fit his O, but he will likely not be here much longer. Then we will just have to turn around and fix our roster some more. We bring in a good quality QB in Cutler, but do absolutely nothing to put any kind of talent around him for our offense to succeed.

Our biggest need is a GM or operations guy who knows how to draft. The Bears drafting of the past 5-6 years has been abysmal, and it shows. Teams like Detroit, Green Bay, New England, etc are successful because they have good young talent on the team and fill the needs they have. We can't seem to even do that. We are aging badly on Defense, are lacking serious talent on the OL and WR position, but are doing seemingly nothing to address them.

I understand what you're saying as that's my biggest gripe too, however, that isn't totally true. The Baltimore Ravens rely heavily on running the rock and our beast mode defense. But then again, I think we're the only team who can still put that off. And the Bears are in the spot their in for the simple fact they dicked the Ravens out of a draft pick! :D

Regardless of your personal feelings towards Chris Johnson, what he did last year was beast mode and he should have been paid accordingly. Bash is correct that it doesn't matter unless you're a QB because the NFL is catered towards casuals.

I think he's decent, but I don't think he's All-World like ESPN likes you to believe. They went 10-6 by beating all teams below .500 last year. The Titans didn't even make the playoffs that season. Of course Johnson wouldn't have garnered any consideration. Marshall Faulk won it in 2000 (I thought McNabb should've won it) and they went to the SB that season largely due to his versatility.

It doesn't matter, he had the greatest season ever for a RB. Football is a team game, you can't blame their record of Chris Johnson. As far as MVP (Most Valuable Player) is concerned he should have won it, he was hands down the most valuable player in the league, what he did that year was never done ever before and if it wasn't for him that year the Titans would have been like 2-14 or 4-12.

The Titans were 0-6 to start that season, including a 59-0 beat down by the Pats. They didn't start winning until Vince Young got into the lineup. You don't deserve MVP if your team doesn't at least get into the playoffs. Manning won it that year with a 14-2 record and homefield advantage in the AFC. I chuckle when people compare an average citizen to football players in a 9 billion dollar business. You've got to be kidding me with that. We're in two completely different situations to compare him to being greedy and noting his worth. Clearly prior to this year, he was the undoubted number 2 running back behind AP. Only different is he was getting paid like 400K. That's absolutely ludicrous for the second best running back in the league. His body of work proved he outplayed his contract. But to compare the two is crazy my man.

But onto Monday Night Football. If the Jets are the biggest frauds I've ever seen, I don't know who are! The way the Phins played showed me they were definitely tanking for Luck. All them drop passes, Marshall burning the defense then stepping out of bounds and going into the half down 14-6 when you had over a minute left with a timeout. I still thought the Jets were going to win, but the game shouldn't have been as lopsided as it was. And Revis has been shown for the Pass Interfering player he is. Nhamdi is still the undoubted best CB in the league.

I get "noting his worth" however, there we're plenty of people all over the twitter and facebook world calling him greedy earlier in the year, and he even responded calling them "fake titan fans". (i damn sure ain't a fan)

He could have at least practiced with his team to better vibe with them with the little month long trainning they got after the lockout, instead he wants to cry about things and not help his team. He is the prime example of players not really caring about winning (unless they win the Super Bowl, they'll act like they care about that) and just play for the money.

You see, outside of the sports world, where people are brainwashed into thinking this is cool and ok, this is how alot of people view alot of players in sports.

Appreciate the rep. Coaching was a problem with last night's game, but even coaching doesn't need to tell you how to hold on to the ball. I don't know what that is all about because the Phins should have been winning easily 14-0 in the first. 17-7 if anything. But then your defense imploded and mistakes were made, then the Jets went on to show they're the better team regardless whether or not it's a division game.

But enough of this talk! Get ready for next Monday Night as my Baltimore Ravens head to Florida to deal with the Jacksonville Jags! Hopefully Flacco goes All-World on these kids like he's Brady or Rodgers so we can proclaim that we're the best team in the AFC.

I don't like the Gators or Tebow but I think you're writing him off wayyyy too early. Every time he has stepped on the field he has made a positive impact on the game with multiple [near] comebacks after being put in with the game of reach. Even if the Broncos trade away Lloyd I think Tebow will be decent at worst...

he can't. he's terrible... or just overratedNo, he doesn't suck, he just lacks experience on the NFL field. Also, he had a few touchdowns already. Just give him this and the next season to sync in and then one of these days he may surprise you. ;)

One loss closer to Andrew Luck.

welp... there goes Andrew Luck.

He lived up to my expectations for 53 minutes... and then the fins became the fins....

Bears won! They are looking pretty good atm.

But, I highly feel sorry for the Dolphins, they were so close, what happened?

Colts were/are a one man team. W/o Manning, they aren't worth squat. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the second team in NFL history to go 0-16.

^The Dolphins, Rams, AND the Colts I think have a decent chance at going 0-16.

I don't see the Rams drafting Luck since they have Bradford. The Colts and Dolphins better hope that the Rams will win a game. If the Rams get the first pick then they will be trading that pick to the highest bidder and I can see them getting a ton of picks.

It's a universe without Manning on the field.

Now only was the Sunday night game surprising cus because of the Saints blowout, the Monday Night Game was surpising too. Ravens couldn't do shit on offense. I guess this stuff happens sometimes even to the better teams. Maybe they need to loss like that to reflect back onthemselves.

Jaguars did well on defense tho.

The Ravens deserved that loss. I'll give all the credit in the world to the Jaguars for dealing with them frauds on national TV. I've come across a couple points that wraps the Ravens up in a nutshell.

1) My team won't win a Superbowl unless the actual team does it themselves. John Harbaugh, Cam Cameron and my Special teams coach are all frauds. They win in spite of their stupidity and moreso because of the talent on the team. The team wins the games and the coaches loses the games in the box. You have two timeouts and the 2 minute warning, but you kick an onside kick when the Jags offense clearly didn't do shit? lol, you're a fraud, Fraudbaugh.

2) The Ravens can't win on the road consistently. We'll deal with anyone at M&T Bank, but when we're on the road, it just doesn't happen. I'll say this game was more of an aberration than anything, but we're still weak on the road.

3) My Coaches can't make adjustments. They couldn't handle ED Dickson all fucking night, but you want to put LaQuan Williams out there on their best CB. My QB is getting destroyed soon as he says hike, but you don't go max protect?

4) I'm a Flacco apologist, but even I can't save him from last night. I've come to accept that he can't read defenses well. And Cam Cameron is his weakness.

It is what it is. These motherfuckas better win at home this week so I can go into Pitt tied or playing for 1st. Had the division by the fucking balls and fraudulence happens. Ridiculous

I think it's more of a metal issue. Even without Manning they shouldn't be losing this much or this bad. It's like the whole team went "O Manning isn't here? Everyone pack up until next year."

That didn't happen when Brady was out that one season.

Their's a deadline for Manning to return, correct? Doesn't he have by week 8 to come back or he's forced to IR? That's the rule, right or am I totally off?

Could have sworn someone from the Colts' organization stated Peyton won't playing this season, period.

I think he's done. It's hard for player to come back from that kind of injury and on top of that Peyton is up there in age.

It's frustrating watching your team's coaches making seemingly boneheaded decisions week after week, isn't it? The Bears (especially Martz) do it all the time.

On a lighter note:

I could watch that over and over. The Bears seriously need to pay him. He's the best all-around running back in the NFL right now, IMO. Especially considering Chicago has one of the worst lines in the NFL.
