I really didn't have a problem with the williams pre game speech minus the ACL comment. That was messed up. I hate to say it but I'm sure something along the Gore comments go on in every locker room. Just my opinion.

So Ravens' fans would rather pay an old and aging Ed Reed than a young and upcoming Ray Rice?
I damn sure would. I like Ray Rice, he's a beast, but I can replace him. Yeah he got that Marshall Faulk factor, but I personally think Anthony Allen and Damien Berry can give me his production between the two. Now Eddy Reed? Can't just throw any fraud back there. Tom Brady knows where Ed is at all times. Can't say the same thing for the likes of Bernard Pollard and Co. lol
But I will say I don't like Reed coming out talking this ole bullshit since he knows we're in a tight situation with the CAP. He was at one time the highest paid Safety given when he signed the deal. This talk of 'disrespect' is tomfoolery, but I have Reed glasses on because he's my favorite Raven of all-time so he gets a pass. Ray Rice holding out is laughable to me.
I'll be the first to say he's overvaluing himself! Cause again, he's All-World in the regular season, but I haven't seen him in the playoffs the last two years. My QB and Football savior Joe Flacco might be chills in the regular season, but he's locked-in when the playoffs come around. Just too bad frauds can't catch footballs or he'd be in back-to-back bowls. :(

lol, I guess Raider Nation will never live that down. Should be a good game and Carson Palmer always gave my Ravens a fit.
Well he'll have had a Full off-season & Camp with the Team now so no more excuses if he Sucks this season ,Hopefully McFadden goes into Beast Mode again & isn't injured by that Game :p

Definitely. The Broncos are for sure a contender. They just need the QB which they have now. Solid defense and with the addition of Peyton, I could see this team making a playoff run.
I've been wanting to go to a Texans game for years now. But now that the Packers are going there, I will find a way to go! Lol. It's just ironic that now that I'm finally gonna go, I'm gonna be rooting against them lol

The week 11-13 schedule still baffles me.
I've never thought the Ravens woud ever be a 'darling' team (you know, where commentators and the analysts continually "bob their heads on those teams' laps up and down" for) of the NFL.
But this just makes me think Goodell nor most of the owners, think anything of us.
Hope this fuels a fire in that locker room like never before...

Call me a Boller apologist. While he was an absolute fraud here in Baltimore, he also got a raw deal. I truly believe he would have had a decent year in '08 had he not tore his shoulder. I would like Kyle back in Baltimore as a backup, but this is news is just to test tyrod. No one should worry.

Don't make me skin you, boy!
And as I told my cousin today, I hope people understand Painter is nothing more than camp fodder. If you honestly believe he has any shot at starting on the team, then you're a fool. If Flacco was done for the year (I'll cry btw) then the Ravens will go out and get a proven vet, perhaps calling Mark Bulger. Painter would be lucky to make the team come the regular season.
But let's get excited for the draft! How about Irsay being anti-climatic by announcing he'll pick Luck. Why doesn't anyone like the suspense anymore? What will teams do? Who will they pick? I'm glad NFL Network and The Worldwide circus of Sports are not tipping picks on TV this year.

Yup Painter is nothing more than just a camp arm and I really doubt he makes the team out of camp. Tyrod is clearly the #2 QB in baltimore. I was a fan of Boller but I also think he got a raw deal in Baltimore. Brian Billick made him the starter and Boller had no offensive line and no one to throw too. Would have liked to see what he could of done on a better offensive team.
I like the networks not tipping picks this year. Not to worried about finding out about Luck, everyone knew he was going first anyway. I'm just tired of it every year we know who the first few picks are before even draft day. Just a few years ago no one really cared about the draft, we didn't have all this draft coverage. Now it's all over the place. I still would love to see a draft in person one year.
Damn, theres too many Ravens fans here. Is PSU based out of Baltimore or something? Lol jk guys. But really? Painter? Just another body or not, that's still funny. Well maybe I shouldn't laugh so much. He did beat the Texans last year :/

lot of Talk of The Raiders picking up Burfict
Wouldn't surprise me.
What round though?
I think it's a bad move for his career, as I don't think the Raiders have the organisational clout to reel in a player with his attitude.
It would be good for him because he'll get to run riot. But bad in the end as he'll probably no develop under that team and be out of the league or never reach his true potential.
The Steelers, Ravens, Patriots, and 49ers are perfect fits for him. Winning teams (so he doesn't get disgruntled and moan) with plenty of mentors as well as defensive schemes to suit his play style.

Not sure what Round due to his attitude per say which would no doubt put off a lot of Teams picking him up early
But to your your *Winning Teams* Comment Normally I would agree but look at the Games the Raiders lost last year and why they lost them we lit up teams that were lighting up other teams like the Lions/Bills etc but then only lost them due to Chuck Bresnans shoddy D play calling not to Mention losing our QB mid-way through the Season and bringing a QB that came off the couch.
But my Raiders don't have Al Calling the Shots no more and are Set Offensively with one of the best explosive RB'S in the League and Speedy WR Corp to match even DHB is proving to be a great Al Davis pick & D Moore is Clutch so is Ford, and with CP3 having a full offseason to learn the playbook ,Look out!!
on the Defense we really only need to pick up a solid LB and a couple of Tackles ,but most importantly we don't have Chuck Breshnan no more !!!
Damn! First Clifton, now Collins. I know it makes sense in every way, but it still sucks. Sad day for Packers fans. I hope they (don't!) finish the set and release Driver. I think he still has one more year in him.

Read something that said if Clifton heals up before training camp that he may be resigned.

Oh really? I don't know. I love the guy, but he is quite literally on his last legs. Unless Sherrod is having problems healing up, I don't think it makes any sense. Saturday is up there in age as well, but he doesn't have the injury history that Clifton has. I guess only time will tell.

I was merely pointing that they haven't had that type of culture for some time, and have been quite undisciplined over the years.
No doubt they looked better though. Let's hope they shore up RB in case/when DMC gets hurt. I've heard a lot about Taiwan Jones, but wouldn't hurt having another guy there now that Bush is gone. :)

Day one wrap-up.
Winners
1) Patriots
- They stole Hightower from me AND they get Chandler Jones. Shit just got REAL!
2) Vikings
- Solidified the O-line with Kalil. Raped the Browns and got a decent value with Harrison Smith
3) Cowboys
- Got Claiborne and didn't have to give up much
4) Steelers
- Greatest Value pick All night! DeCastro is a beast!
Losers
1) Browns
- Stupidest franchise in the history of all sports after this shit. I should be happy since we're in the same division, but there fuck-up has me raging. I can't believe Mike Holmgren is able to sleep tonight after putting that shit round together.
2) Seahawks
- Alright... What the fuck man! I mean, what the fuck! What a reach!
But don't totally fret! The Ravens can will the draft if we get any combination of Glenn/Upshaw/Hill
I personally want the Upshaw/Hill combo! Let's go Ozzie! Do me proud my nig!

I think the move up one spot for 3 picks was dumb but honestly I liked their picks. Richardson and Weeden are great picks in my book. Weeden has played pro sport before so he knows the pressure. His age is a factor but if he starts by late next year or first game of following season you can still easily get 10 years out of him. Which is about the norm for most QBs with the exception of guys like Favre and Manning.
After reading a bit, I'm a bit iffy on the Texans picks. Not Mercilus, but Posey more than Brooks. And I'm totally loving what the Packers have done so far. The season came come soon enough

My man Ozzie has gambled and got dealt with for the past 2 days. We lost Hightower, Konz and Sanu. I really wanted Konz and Hill with that second pick. I thought Ozzie would move up, but he stood pat. Then we trade up just to get dealt with by the Bengals and draft the RB out of Temple. I still trust Ozzie, but we got dealt with this time around even though I'm hyped about the Upshaw pick. I do like the pick of KO with the second pick, but I did want Konz or Hill there. Really wish we would have got T.Y Hilton, too, but oh well.
Day 3! Bring me a Hall of Famer on the offensive side of the ball!
Bears had a great draft so far too. We have 2 legit new WRs, we got a new DE and a safety. Can't wait till the season starts.
The only thing thats worrying me is that we didn't get any oline help.

What do you guys think about the Saints draft with the limited number of picks they had? I liked the Hicks and Toon picks for sure. Hicks has to be worked with but I think in 2 years he could wind up being a force. Don't know much about Toon but from what I've seen he looks pretty damn good. I've seen reports concerned with injury concerns but outside of that he has great size for a WR. The other picks I don't know much about them why I'm looking for others opinions.
I don't Follow College ball but the General Concensus was the Raiders got a B- for their Picks (one of them being a Fellow Brit called Jack Crawford DE which is awesome
Was great to see Reggie McKenzie work his magic by trading a 5th to Detroit for a 5th 10 places lower plus a 7th Too

Apart from the Ravens first 2 picks; I give them a C. Too many guys left on the board, and I feel, that the Ravens get 'too cute' with their picks (i.e. too much into the 'value' or 'unknown' player).
For example, they took Temple at the end of the 3rd when Miller was still on the board. They take some random guard instead of taking a center like Molk or Vlachos - where we don't have depth at C and already having Osemele at G AND while guys like Crick and Ta'amu are still on the board!!!!!!!They take some random OL instead of smoeone like Bobby Massie late.
Now unless someone wants to tell me why those guys are better prospects, I'm sticking to my guns.
Really questionable, and right now "I'm 'in Ozzie I kinda only sort of trust right now..."
Being conservative is all well and good but sometimes, if there's good talent there, it's GOOD to trade up (see Pats in the 1st).
The Bengals probably had the best draft in my books.

I think the knock on Massie was his questionable intelligence, attitude and work ethic. There had to be a good reason every team passed on him for so long. Trust me, half of the Bears forum was bitching about not taking Massie, then the concerns about him came out. That being said, he's worth the risk later.
I really hope the safety Hardin can develop well for the Bears. I see why some people queston the pick, but I also see what Emery was trying to do with the pick. Dudes a beast (6-3 220) that can hit but has good cover skills, being a corner and all. He could be a tight end equalizer. Hopefully his shoulder injury was just a freak occurrence and he doesn't turn into Mike Brown 2.0 (injury-wise).

I think people are complaining about that pick because we still have no one to cover deep routes. We gave up a lot of home run plays last year...

The later rounds wasn't too bad, I agree with you admartian but lets she how these picks do over the next couple years.

I was kinda happy Konz fell deep into the 2nd where I thought we could trade up for him (using that 4th rounder we got for trading down). But I think it was very very risky for us to wait for Konz or even Osemele at that stage, because we still needed to address the interior line. And someone could have very well traded up for Osmele.
So I think if we had to trade up, then it should have been then.
I do agree, let's wait and see. Though I don't have much faith since lately our late round picks have been non-contributional.
I just hope we don't turn Streeter into the next Marcus Smith, Justin Harper, Demetrius Williams etc etc. He's got as much upside as Stephen Hill minus the hype. I think he's a steal providing Cam Cam uses him well. If he doesn't then it's a head scratcher, cos someone at the Raven boards said he's a perfect fit for his Air Coryell.
Also, starting to warm to the Bernard Pierce pick, and a little more on the Gradkowski pick.

That is truly sad. I hope left never gets that bad for me that I would do something so selfish as to take my own life. Not when I see many people suffering from way worse matters than anything I could muster up, making me look like a total smuck. But none the less, may the Lord rest his soul. Tremendous player. I remember when that story came out a couple years ago when he had that car accident that many said was a suicide attempt. Wonder what happened?
But to go back to football, the Ravens went the safe route. Didn't make any silly mistakes in the draft, but they didn't go out and grab a play-maker who, in my opinion, instantly made us better. Outside of us getting Upshaw of course, but he'll be in a deadlock battle with my man Elm Street. (Paul Kruger if you didn't know) Streeter is a nice project who fits Cam's system. Gonna be interesting to see what happens with him. I still trust my man Tandon Doss who I still believe is going to be a beast.
Kinda wish we would have traded up for David DeCastro once we started sliding down the board.

Double agree.
On the first note, it's easy to lose sight of things, no matter how bad things get, let's hope the worse I get is power ballads and a bottles beer.
I'm more comfortable about our draft now that it's sunk in. Like you, the only regret is getting Konz deep in the second. But I think the FO is confident there'll be good talent there next year (seeing as we aren't truly F'd as we do still have Birk).
As for Doss, I'd genuinely like to see what he can do. Also, I think if there's a roster spot, and it ahs to go down between Streeter and David Reed, Is ay give it to Streeter. Reed doesn't deserve to be there and I'm sure someone else can cover the return duties.

Utter bullshit is what it is. Let's not forgot this guy was being coached. Do you think he was going to go against his coaches word? Nope! His participation doesn't warrant a full season. Not to mention does Goddell really have the power to make this call? This is an on and off the field issue that he also has no hard evidence against him! This is going to turn into a battle with the PA and NFL. I can't wait until this bitch of a commissioner is out of there. Problem is the owners love him.
I say 4-6 games for Vilma
3-5 for Hargrove
and 2 for Smith and Fujita.

I agree with the reasoning of the NFL - a bounty program cannot exist without willing participants (the players). Therefore, the punishment completely, and utterly, is fair.
Can it be shortened? I believe so. But I wouldn't budge on anything than less than 14 games. I'd at least allow him to play twice.
I'm probably one of the first in line for toughness in the league - being a Ravens fan, our teams in the past have been on the wrong end of calls based on "tough" hits on whiny QBs (Peyton, Tom, Matt Ryan).
But this bounty system is borderline thuggery.
I just read that Suggs tore his Achilles playing basketball. Big blow for the Ravens...my sympathies to you Ravens fans.

Thing about it is I don't disagree with the fact that they should be suspended. They rightfully should be but there is no reason a player should get the same suspension that the head coach gets. That is just ridiculous. I say 8 games at most for Vilma. This is simply a case of Goddell flexing his muscle say "Look what I can do." This has been the theme of his entire time as the commish.
Bounty program aside, you think if a team knows a guy has a bum knee they aren't going to be gunning for that? These guys are pretty much taught to hit a guy as hard as they can from day one. I would also like to know the amount of unsportsmanlike conduct that these guys have had over the past couple years. I very seriously doubt that they are much above average. I'm just saying without any kind of documentation or hard evidence linking their involvement why is Vilma being singled out. There was reports that said he threw money in a pool but is this fact?
I'm with you. These guys need to reprimanded for their participation but a whole season is ridiculous.

Yeah I think that's pretty much any sport. But I think if you're that injured player you are aware of the risks anyway - so it's on you. Defenders or other players shouldn't have to make an excuse or skirt around your injury.
But that is far removed from bounty programs, where the aim is to injure.
I can see where the typical meathead NFL fan can confuse that though.
Speaking of meathead fans, Dave Dameshek ( I still don't get why they let fanboys like this guy write on NFL and other sports networks) is already trolling Raven nation in light of the Suggs news.
I effing hate that guys face.
It's a significant blow; but these 'analysts' sometimes really can't wait but to favour an NFL "darling team" (see Pats, Packers, Giants, Steelers, Cowboys).
I'd love nothing more than a team like the Ravens, Seahawks or Cardinals (not so well favoured in the league) to win and to win by dynasties.

I actually agree with the suspensions, though I don't always agree with Roger Gooddell.
We're talking about players intentionally going out to hurt other players, going for an ACL tear and etc. ACL tears are not normal injuries, they're not only very painful but career threatening. Yes, those players and any players who participate in a bounty program should be suspended. Heck, Vilma AND the other players are lucky they didn't make a case to ban them from the NFL for life.

Couldn't agree with you more there. On the point of aiming to injury. No not every player is out to hurt another player in any possible way. But there are many players that will take aim at an injured appendage to slow them up or tweak the injury. Not saying end their career which bounty programs are essentially trying to do. Especially in a pile up. It's a dirty sport and not all play with the utmost integrity sadly. Just like guys who constantly launch. Which I'm glad the nfl has started to crack down on hard.

An ACL tear is serious and sometimes athletes don't come back the same after one.

Sucks for Forte, and it's a dick move by the Bears. Well I'm actually jumping the gun there. I know they were in talks last year, and I don't know what kind of offers they gave him. So it could be that he was being greedy. But if he wasn't, then my original statement stands.

Like with Ray Rice and Forte these guys are the majority of the offenses for their teams. I think they should be paid, not paid like an Adrian Peterson but comparable to what Arian Foster got this year, maybe a little bit more money.

Has Rice had a history of injuries? As far as Forte, it's unfortunate he got one at the end of the season, after they were already eliminated from the playoffs (I think) but he really should've had a deal before last season. Now they have a reason not to pay him

I would say Drew just because he's proven on a consistent basis that he can work with what he has. Yes he is more interception prone but he makes up for it in the end. Don't get me wrong Rodgers is an amazing QB. I would just say he's slightly under Brady but not by much. As you, this is coming from a Saints fan. Nothing wrong with Rodgers though. I just didn't buy into all the hype that ESPN put into him day one. Rodgers if Rodgers keeps it up I have no quarrel with a number one ranking. I've just always kind of had a bad taste in my mouth about the media always ranking Brees second no matter how much he does on the field.
I've mostly just always looked at the first year Drew almost broke Dan's record and he didn't really get much credit. It took him winning a SB to finally get some recognition. But opinions vary from person to person. Rodgers TD/Int ratio was just unheard of last year though. Props to him.

I'm sorry, but top 3? I don't think so. Top 5 is debatable. Rodgers and Brees are at the top for sure. As overrated as Brady is, he is still pretty damn good. We'll have to wait to see if big brother Manning can come back and look like himself again. But if he stays healthy and doesn't have too many problems, he is definitely above little brother Manning, and Brady for that matter. From there, him, Rivers, and (as much as I hate him) Roethlisburger can be jumbled somewhere at that next tier. Also, Stafford showed flashes, so as long as he can stay healthy, I think he can be a top 5 QB. Eli is definitely a top 10 QB, but I wouldn't call him top 5, and definitely not top 3

So they've got Marshall, Forte, maybe Knox, and Bennet on that offense. And then there's that D.
I think they will make a playoff push.

Yeah man, it's crazy. I still remember when they were talkin' about who the Ravens were going to draft. Trade up for Ryan or settle for Flacco. I'm so glad the Rams didn't want our deal. I didn't want any parts of Ryan. I remember hearing on the radio that an analysis compared Flacco to Steve Young.
Steve Young is one of my favorites all-time and when that was said, I was hooked on Flacco and watched his tape. Didn't see a lot of the comparison, but I was still hooked. Still remember as if it was yesterday sitting in my mothers hospital room as we watched the draft with me pleading "GET FLACCO".

I knew Dez Bryant was a POS as soon as he came into the NFL. I saw this whole ordeal happening way too many times. Great athlete but poor personality. Now Blackmon on the other hand whole different story...I hope. I know there was the ordeal with the DUI but that isn't really detrimental to someone's image. Doesn't help but its more just frowned upon. I really hope all he stays out of the negative spot light for good. I'm really looking forward to seeing how his career pans out. I'm curious to see how the newcomers on the Browns fare in preseason. Last season we did horribly, we shouldn't have won the games that we did. I think it was due to McCoy. McCoy trained with Brett Favre in the offseason. I'm sure Favre taught McCoy to throw the ball with a little more oomph. The problem was that due to the lockout, the rest of the offensive players didn't have a chance to practice with him, and as a result Browns players were dropping passes left and right. I don't blame the defense because their jobs were to keep the game as close as they can, we don't with games with defense like the Bears or the Buccs, we win with a combination of decent offense and solid defense. Because the offense kept going 3 and out all the time the defense could never get anything to get hyped about. As of last season we had the youngest defense in the league, I don't think that changed thus hopefully the offense gives the defense an extra incentive to push themselves harder.

I think the Dolphins need to cut him and cut him now, he's going to destroy the locker room. Yes, they don't have a lot of WRs, but it's not worth it. There's a lot of young players on the team and one rotten apple can spoil the whole bunch.

That's true. It's too bad. Colt seemed like he had potential, but he was just thrown in a bad situation.
Too true. James Harrison literally knocked Colt out in retaliation for the Browns injuring the QB for his team (Rape-lisberger) and he hasn't been right since, Peyton Hillis faked the Madden curse, he trained with Brett Favre in the offseason but thanks to the lockout the offense didn't have a chance to practice with him resulting in many dropped balls, and this year Weeden gets drafted...that's too much for one man to overcome.

What do you mean? QBs are the most subjectively judged thing in the NFL. Look at Romo, not a big fan of the guy, yet gets chastised so much for not having intangibles but having the stats to back it up.
Conversely, Flacco may not have the stats, but shows you he can take/help lead a team to the playoffs every year, yet gets chastised for not having the stats.
It's all a joke. Flacco and Romo are both good QBs in their own right. Do they have flaws? Absolutely. But all this hate is stupid because of dumb fanboy fans that can't be bothered to think for themselves.
Tannehill on the other hand, has done shit all. And was only hyped by the NFL.com media because they were looking for a QB story in the NFL draft, that wasn't already a foregone conclusion.
He was very lucky to capitalise on that for sure. but he's gonna be Blaine Gabbert Jnr by the end of the season.

If anything, Tannehill is underhyped. Everyone is already declaring him a bust. However, I bet if the Browns had traded up for him, he wouldn't suddenly be considered a bust. The guy just had a great preseason debut, and yes it's preseason, but give him credit for that. He's also having a great training camp, even after the contract holdout.
I do agree he was a reach at 8th overall, but he's not a super reach like Ted Ginn Jr. He's not 8th overall pick ready coming out of the draft. I still wouldn't call him a bust just yet. If he had went to a horrible team like the Raiders, his chances of being a bust would have been higher. Russell ended up that way.

Russell ended up that way.Whether he does ok or not is not the issue with me - but I do think he has been anointed far too early.
Hill probably have a Gabbert type year this year, and if the Dolphins get him more help in WRs) or if Reggie Bush runs like he says he will, then he'll be fine from then on.
Wanna know who DOES deserve hype. Andrew Luck! His Preseason game looked fantastic! He looks better then alot of other QBs who have been in da league alot longer.
Oh and I've always HATED Chad Johnson. He's an asshole. Always been a overly cocky loser who can't back up shit in games. He is derogatory. Now after hearing this, I hope this ass crack never gets back into da league.
EDIT:
Just found out the Dolphins are releasing the Dick Head. Good...

Good call or bad call?
Of course it's a good call. He's an unreliable receiver atm.

He'll probably end up with he Browns or something.
The Browns need to get Chad Johnson but I'm sure that'll never happen. Maybe the Cowboys will pick him up since they have a history of signing old thugs that no one wants anymore.

You lack vision, son. Flacco is a straight up beast! He might not have 40 TD's and a 5 INT ratio with 4100 yards passing, but he has clutch. Too bad he doesn't have a real WR who can catch the *****football! :(
And Tony Romo is a fraud for the last time! A FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
