SOCOM 3 Goes Gold
With the launch of SOCOM 3 still a little more than two weeks away, the game has gone gold! Manufacturing has begun, which is good news for all involved because it means that October 11 is definitely the day the game will be available at stores nationwide.
So, THANK YOU to all that have already placed their orders for SOCOM 3 and to those planning on picking up on launch day. We can't wait to hear what you think and see you online soon!
so it's a def... Oct 11th is the date where a lot of ppl will be losing their social lives... Can't wait...

I got my socom2 but I going to get socom 3 as will. but not on the day it come's out.

Lol, cool, gold already and it didn't even come out yet. Lets see if it goes platnum =\..
But hopefully I will get a chance to play it. I played the original Socom, and umm, couldn't get past the first level. LOL.
Wether it goes platinum or not, im definitely going to get it. 10 more days..

well... whenever you hear/see the phrase "goes gold" it's slang for that the game is finish, and printed, ready to go to the stores... not necessarily a rating, or sales number......
what this means is there's no more delay's, no more push-backs, it's ready to go...

the online play is what people went dood. I know as soon as I get some money I going to buy it. treade in your old games and save some money. They sad that up to 32 people could play at the same time. now how is that going to happen.

how are they gonna do the 32 player thing? Well, first and foremost, the netcode has been extremely optimised... they found out some new tricks that they're gonna pull off in this... and from all the previews so far, it's worked big time... next, they're using a streaming tech for the game itself.... maps like Fish Hook, which were lag infested, believe it or not was actually the console having trouble rendering it with all the diff players and action going on in the small area... this also fixed the larger maps as well, and now they have maps 4-5x's the size of Fox Hunt, which is rediculously huge as is...
They claimed to have been able to remove 90% of the lag you'll experience in the game from Socom 2... so far, reports show they're right... that other percentage, well, that's ppl and crappy connections for you......

I know some cousins out in Iraq who will buy the game for the squaq and they'll be playing it alot online also. Weird to think you could be playing against trained soldiers who are in Iraq while your playing Socom, but you'd be very suprised how often this occurs. Especially with Battlefield 1942, Counterstrike, Socom 2 and Americas Army. You've plobably played against one yourself and didn't know it. Probably those dudes who had 47 kills and 3 deaths through a match lol.

Yeah... that's pretty rampant on S2... I come across that alot... they claim they have more fun with Socom though a lot of the time.... maybe they're cooks? LOL...
And you get to hear a bunch of wierd stories of what's going on over there... which is cool... but you always hear some idiot on your team said, "yo-dude... you should throw down your gun man... war isn't cool... don't be a device of the man"... It's like Vietnam all over again where the boys come back and they get spit on by hippies...... sad...

Maybe there should be a pinned topic with a room game information? So we know if we want to play against members or something? Kind of like I suggested when the PS3 came out, but lets do it for PS2 also. :P
who has played socom 2 or have it u have to agree with me that its a great game and more so when ur online, u guys should come online sumtime.

I'm really excited about Socom 3
Socom 3, 7 more days, I already saw a commercial for it on TV, its gonna rock the 1mil mark for sure. 16 players on each side with vehicles, I can't wait to snipe people in vehicles lol.

Woot! Just reserved it at Gamestop today. Its kinda weird, I didn't really play Socom until a couple months ago when I borrowed #2 from a friend. It was super fun except the indoor levels, and those darn graphics! I sure hope the graphics have a good improvement for Socom 3. I'm gonna go look at some screens, if anyone knows of a Hi-def video let me know.

Great new news. Form the PSMag it say that the Ghillie suit will be in the game. but geting it is going to be very hard to do. and it's not going to be easy.

not on socom 1 or 2. so why 3 I don't know. but they won't get my cc. I just want to play. I think they will take it out to make people happy. anyway where did you get this info from.
Socom just aint the same after u play it online. Once you play online u cant go back to single player missions.

I love it. On this generation (PS2) it is impossible to stop people from cheating, and once you catch them it is even more impossible to stop them from getting back online by just making another name. Sony is correcting this in many different ways with the PS3 (sequirity in memory inside PS3 will prevent third party devices such as instant replay and gameshark), but for the PS2 they have had to do many other things such as DNAS. Now at least once they catch the cheaters, they can ban them via their credit card info, and when the cheaters run out of valid credit card numbers they will not be able to get back online...
This will help reduce cheaters in clan wars, and ranked games.. which I am all for, plus it will help reduce alot of those winny 10 year olds that cannot get moms and pops credit cards..

They will not take this out. They are putting this in to make a majority of people happy. Hell if you want to play anything on X-Box you must have a credit card, if you think you will not need one for PS3 (even if it is free) you are dead wrong there as well. The future of online play requires gamers to be more responsible and take credit for their actions. Cheaters will be permantley blocked, and in future if you get caught cheating on one game, they will have ability to block you from getting online on any game.
I get this info from credible inside sources. Unlike 99.5% of the people and mods that post on here, I actually know developers, publishers, and others within the gaming industry. I don't just go and make up facts or shit just to promote one side unlike most on this board including the some mods who may use the name Siren. Ideas and lessons learned with this Socom are already being developed for next gen Socom.
Oh and for any of you online Socomers.. I play online alot, using this same username.. Since Socom I, with same clan, the @NUTZ@, our website is www.socomnutzclan.com, and we have been to last three E3 conferences, played beta Socom 3, Socom II, and some Socom betas, played in all 3 E-Seals tournaments (2 Socom II, 1 Socom 1), finshed in final four of last one.

hy chocobo are you haveing trouble with your PC because you post more than once of the same question a couple times now alot of other people have been doing the same today i dont know why. but i think socom is going to be a great game because its done nothing but imrove since the first and the second was good.

I know you play alot, I have seen your clans website and your info comes from strong sources thats why I wanted your opinion on this credit card verification. I play somewhat also, I have been playing SOCOM II since it came out. Sounds good, this will make the game more interesting cant wait to play it myself.

Rumor: Square Enix to announce new title "Lord of Vermilion"?

According to online rumors, the upcoming issue of Famitsu or Dengeki will feature a whole cover story on an unannounced Square Enix title called; "Lord of Vermilion".
There are no details yet as to what the game will be about or what platform it will release on. All we have is a magazine scan, and from the looks of it, this may be something outside of the world of Final Fantasy.
