I dont know if its posted or not, didnt see it anywhere, so if I am blind, just delete this.
It looks like the US PSN is now down for the time being! I am feeling the hype train about to roll into the station and make its delivery!

Oh, I agree, but as a web designer, I know how stuff like this is rolled out on development servers and then onto the 'live' server. They are most likely updating the live server and have the ability to test it in house before they actually switch all the code over for the public to download.

Oh, they are so prepping for the Megaton, I can feel it. :D This will be exciting. OMG.. I just realized that Phil is going to be talking tomorrow... wow... tomorrow is coming real fast. :D So, that rumored update may evolve. There should be no other reason why the PSN is down right now, especially during GDC week.

We won't see anything from these outages but we know that they are likely preparing the system for the rollout.
Gotta update the back end before you can update the front end :)

when it kicks back on and ask for you to update DO NOT DO IT... i heard it through the grape vine that it starts the meltdown timer on the ps3's nuclear core. On the 8th as phil is giving his speech you'll see him looking at his watch just counting down the big surprise... :)

Yes this is just about the PS Store. Pretty silly cause a outsider could see this as not being able to access friends online games etc. But that hasnt been the case.

Its now back up and all looks normal. They were probably rebooting the server when I tried to log on and it took a few minutes to get back online. Pretty standard fare when it comes to web server upgrades.

the only thing they changed was that they had blast factor for like $7.99 instead of $9.99. thats what i think i saw. it something about a limited time offer. but march 8th is the big Update.

They wont update things until thursdays so tomorrow is the day of truth. Hopefully they at least come through with a mlb 2k7 demo.

It is working fine!!
But the PS store looks different now...it isnt all blue anymore. It has a black backround and NO light blue...
It looks better IMO, I like it :D
