a couple days ago i heard the update was going to be released on the eighth, is that still a go, or is it delayed?

Probably. I suspect 2 updates to happen in March. one with the Europe launch and the one on thursday.

I'm hoping tomorrow's update turns out to be true. Multitasking is what I'm looking most forward to.

why do you care bout the browswer , im worried more about xmb and the online options , i hope the let us answer our message while we in game ... really need improvement,,, wtf @ home ? who cares thas not tell march , i hate this shyt sony always make as wait so long ,, loosers . im tired of weak ass online games that dnt even support mic

If anything, a browser update would be nice, because mine freezes from time to time when I browser for like 20 mins. I can play Resistance for 3 hours straight with no freezing whatsoever.
But it would be nice to be able to DL and watch a video at the same time

Why cant u just be patient? Everything is comming in due time. Sony cant just snap their fingers and say let there be light! If u know what I mean.

Can't wait for the multi-tasking part of psn. Never noticed till today that multi-tasking would be a great addition. Not to mention changing the backgrounds. Is that also going to be in march update? Not sure.

Umm... I'm not exactly sure what you are saying here (in a word-for-word sense) but I get the overall picture (I think)...
I've got about three replies lined up, but I think I'll just stick with keeping my mouth shut for the most part. :P
But sure, I'm certain that everyone would like to see the update make some particular aspect of the PS3 better. Indeed, that's what updates are for. So cheers to all!

I've heard that setting your own music is kinda' cool, but I've never really thought about it much... guess I'd try it if the update came out.

I don't know if that March 8th update was true guys. I think they guy who created that thread said it was a fake, so don't be disappointed if there is no update today.

be prepared to be disappointed. The updates usually come in the afternoon/evening on the day they're announced. So, even if it is supposed to happen on the 8th, it probably won't be up until 4 or 5 pst.

How many times have we gone through this? Sony does not update the store and firmware until later in the evening...If a firmware update is coming, it might not show up until like 9pm EST if it is even coming this week. They've said that the Europe PS3's would ship with the new firmware, so you know its complete and will arrive before March 23rd. Give it a break.

i wonder why Phil didn't talk about the March update for his keynote. if the update does not come this week then it comes during PAL launch. where everybody gets the update at the same time.
