idiots like that should not be tolerated, stamp out people like that. I'm kinda hoping all the idiot nazis are on Live, and from reading Teamxbox, it sounds like its a haven for that behaviour

When the PS3 servers go international, you'll have a more international flavour which I'm hoping will be the more mature set (considering the price point). Im sure there are still going to idiots, but I hope people can report offenses.

Having played MMORPGs, its great seeing people who offend like this get banned, since these games are moderated.

Learn to live with it. it is going to be 50/50 half the time. Sometimes you'll meet nice people like I did on Motorstorm yesterday and sometimes your gonna meet nasty people who only go online to make your life hell for 1-2 hours. Luckily games like RFOM have mute so use it :)

You'd think with the price off the PS3 you wouldn't get lil jimmy and his pocket money .. i guess not, maybe SONY should have upped the price a little more XD

If your playing RFOM just change to a different radio band or whatever you call it. Unless this guy was that much of a d**k that he followed you from frequency to frequency.

Here's a thought: Ignore the nerdy kids trying to prove themselves on the internet... If the game has the function, mute their voices.

It's how online gaming has always been, and most likely how it will continue to be. There will always be kids who get picked on at school and then try to act tough on the internet to take out their frustration, as they can't do it in real life. They are scum, but there's nothing you can do...

getting bent over and frustrated at prepubscent nerds online is about as cool as dating your sister

an argument must have two parties. if you dont want to argue and then complain about it later just ignore the silly humans. if you are so compelled to strike back, well i dont think anyone really wants to hear about it nor cares.

Just bought a headset last friday and used it on RFoM. Lots of nice people, and was pretty fun. I can't wait for a mmo game for bluetooth. Be so much easier for communication. I haven't encountered anyone with a large mouth yet, but when I do I will simply laugh, and mute, or change room.

I AM NOT AN A##HOLE, but when people start with me online used to happen all the time in Halo 2 I'll go off. I just say whatever I can think of NOTHING racist though not even giving them a chance to talk or the whole team can get in on it sometimes thats even more fun, honestly though if you don't wanna argue just reply with I know! then they ususally leave me alone too.

it's uselsess to argue with people who hide behind headsets and keyboards... they're protected at least to some degree. a guillotine choke could change things in person.

Oh, ok... It's just something alot of us are so customed to that it doesn't seem like something that even needs to be mentioned.

I've been an admin on a Day of Defeat, and now Day of Defeat: Source server for little under 3 years now. I've gotten my fair share of angry people questioning my judgement, eventhough I try to be as nice as possible (I see no reason not to be). And of course some people's absolute lack of common sense, logic, and just a bit of maturity has got to me once in a while. It gets to you alot easier when you're the one responsible of making sure everything works smoothly and no one is ruining the experience for the rest... So yeah, I've been in quite a few arguements, none of which I've "lost", though.
The good thing about that position is that you can make the call of banning someone so that you never have to see them again.

Good question, I too would like to know the answer to that.

As far as online trash talking...yeah it happens. My brother used to play Halo 2 religiously with his friends, between the two teams you'd hear more trash talking, swearing, racism and god knows what thatn you've heard in your life time.

I was telling my friend this the other day "Resistance is heaven, there are no people like in Halo 2, when you die once the whole team starts yelling at you. In Resistance, people use worlds like 'indeed' and 'quite.'"

if u think u cant take it anymore, all u gotta do is take off ur mic and volia! dont worry.

online fights... lmfao, i usually dont start the ranting, im more of a team player, and if someone does really mess... well, lets just say that the stuff i say wont be PG13 nemore.

Why not actually do something about it? If people complain constantly about one user or another for the same thing Sony will have to do something. I believe that they have the ability to BAN them from online play and online features. So, that said, do something. I'm sure Sony can watch them (mirror) when they come online to capture anything... would be easy to have SW that captures all voice data from them in all their events. (So yes, SONY is the one to complain to, it's their service and I'm sure there's something in the license agreement)

[Merkley stands on his soapbox]
I think the problem here is that people don't actually do anything anymore. Seems to me that people spend alot of time complaining (this isn't just about online stuff) and not actually taking action. I guess when people really have enough they'll complain. Example... try taking away a Christmas tree again anywhere in Ontario and they'll be hell to pay -- 2 years ago noone bothered, they just whined to one another... now after the government has received so many complaints the Christmas trees are here to stay. (no - I don't want to get into it... just an example how "doing something" can actually make a diff.)
