Hey,

Obviously I see what makes it slimmer, but what makes it 'more capable'?

Just curious.

Would you mind elaborating on what you mean? More than anything the slimmer PS2 is just a marketing tecnique to sale more PS2's. Much like the PSONE was. However the slimmer PS2 is more functional in the fact that you can cram it in much smaller spaces, plus I have heard alot of talk of people putting them in their cars now.

It seems to me like hes heard that quote somewhere (an ad campaign perhaps?) and is just inquiring as to why it is more 'capable'.

To answer your question Bill have a read here: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6110798/ Gamespot has quite a good write-up about it.

Sorry, I meant more capable than the current bulky PS2.

It's way smaller and has the Ethernet Network Adaptor built into it. That's the only way I see it as more capable, it's space saving and you don't have to buy the adaptor. It lacks a place for a hard drive, so that's the only set-back it has...

i think by making the slimmer ps2 they basicly admitted that the HDD was a flop and now its pretty much guaranteed there wont be anymore games utilizing it

The editor of EGM, a popular gaming magazine, has suggested that Sony will introduce an "Entitlements" scheme, similar to Xbox Live Achievements.

According to a blogpost by VideoGameJocks, Dan Hsu said in a podcast that Sony would debut the progress tracking system for its online service to launch with the PlayStation 3.

It does seem a little strange, however, that Sony would reveal such a bizarre name before it has even touched on the intricacies of its Network Platform.

We expect the online system to be officially unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show this September, where Ken Kutaragi, the creator of PlayStation, will give a keynote speech.

It is likely to be the last presentation before the PlayStation 3 launches in November.
