just got home from work and now im downloading the new update. first impressions guys. any thing new? let me know how "massive" it was and did it meet any of your needs u were looking for ill tell u what i think when mine is over
well its official!!! we now have backround downloads!!! i didnt see anything else new but im really excited about that for sure. ill keep everyone posted on the new 1.6 upgrade

As far as I know, the update isn't released until tomorrow, probably midnight. Maybe your downloading another update, how long as it been since you have played your Playstation 3? And by the way, I could be wrong since I am at work right now working a double-shift, so anyone that is also getting the new update, post here and lets here some first impressions.
EDIT: Okay, nevermind, looking at what minnis just wrote, I guess it is out. What else is new, I'm very anxious to find out!?!?!?

update 1.6 is cool! im downloading the new transformers movie while i play resistence but the thing is that you can't play online while downloading things! you can download 6 things at a time and the web browser has a new zoom feature and the in-game keyboard looks different...and now you can chat with your friends! i cant wait for the next update!!!!!:mrgreen:

Here's something new. The bluetooth devices even the controllers aren't working properly. won't even pick up the controllers unless plugged in.

Hey incase you guys didn't know, whenever there is a new update for playstation you can go to playstation.com and go to new updates and see exactly what the new update is, it usually doesnt pop up on playstation.com till the afternoon though.. Here is what the new update is all about...

Hey guys, I've been following the forums for a while, but this is my first post. In the new firmware update 1.6 you can now add a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to your PS3.
I went to Best Buy and got a Logitech MX 5000 bluetooth keyboard which comes with a mouse. It also comes with a USB adapter you can plug into a computer or the ps3's usb slot so that it will work on computers that don't have bluetooth built in.
My PS3 easily detected both the bluetooth keyboard and mouse, including the model type, and I didn't have to plug in the USB accessory. I was able to browse the internet using the mouse and keyboard and it really was a lot better than just the controller.
To test if the keyboard would work with a ps2 game, I booted up monster hunter. It did NOT detect my keyboard but this may be fixed in future updates. I was able to get the keyboard to work by plugging in the USB bluetooth received into my PS3 USB slot and pairing the keyboard with this receiver, thus treating the keyboard as a USB keyboard.
Overall I would say it worked well and I would recommend a bluetooth keyboard. I'll keep you guys updated on how it works with other games, I'm going to check it out with Untold Legends later today or tomorrow. 8)
