Anyone know if GTA is scheduled for PSP????and if so is it just a remake or is it brand new and is it the 2d over head or the 3d like on a PS2(which i would anticipate)?And if its brand new where it's set and other specs on the game. thnx guys

I dont believe anyone knows, no. If it is to come on to the PSP I wouldnt expect anything near as spectacular as you see on the PS2.

I herd that it was going to come out for the psp but I think it is going to be the same as the one in the gba. Dont quote me on this because I an not sure. Sorry I dont have any sure answers.

I truly doubt they would port the GBA version to PSP when the PSP has TONS more potential for better gfx, sounds, bigger levels, etc.

Take 2 Games confirmed that an Xbox version of GTA: San Andreas is on the cards, and unveiled the release dates for Europe and North America.


Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Xbox® and PC will be in stores in North America on June 7th, 2005 and in Europe on June 10th, 2005.

In a near simultaneous press release, Take 2 revealed its plans for 2005 alongside financial results for Q4, 2004. However, most interestingly is a statement referring to Sony's forthcoming Playstation Portable Console.


Additional products planned for fiscal 2005 from Rockstar include a new console title based on a proven brand from Rockstar's internal studios, titles based on two of Rockstar's premier brands for Sony's highly anticipated PlayStation®Portable platform (PSP™) and the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in Japan.

Think what you may but this is the closest to a confirmation so far.

Its saying that two of their main franchises are being developed for the PSP. (I think)

If it is I think it would be GTA and Midnight Club would be the two premier brands they are talking about.

You know how you could get birds eye veiw on GTA three. i bet you if its gunna be birds eye view its gunna be like that.. only with extra cars, helicopters etc... I would love to see MC come onto PSP I guess Rcokstars newly acuired Leeds studios (knowen as Rockstar leeds) are set on next generation portable games and will help develope the two franchises for the DS or PSP.

i doubt and seriously hope they dont do the birds eye view. i mean the gba has gta with birds eye view and if the PSP is as great as it seems to be it should be able to handle a GTA for ps2 like GTA 3

GTA Coming To PSP

A couple of major franchises have been confirmed for the Playstation Portable.

Sam Houser, Vice President of Rockstar Games has confirmed that they are developing a new Grand Theft Auto title for the handheld, which is being created by the same studio who made Max Payne for the Game Boy Advance.

Another Playstation regular that has been confirmed was Dark Cloud by Level 5.

We'll have more in the coming days and months as information pertaining to the PSP's North American release get confirmed.

i dunno if they could fit GTA3 on a umd. GTA3 was upwards of the current 1.4gb size of the umd. not sure if its powerful enough to take on the game without some drawbacks.

There will actually be a GTA on the PSP. we already have a release date for it where I work, so I kno tha it's coming. it's actually slated for near the american release date, but that could change ; still, it would be nice to actually see it be fairly close.

this will be a nice addition to the PSP's post-launch line-up, i wonder how it looks, probably looks like vice city graphics, which are nice. i cant wait to hear what RPG's are going to be announced for the PSP (sorry for going off topic)

I dont know if anyone posted this already, but GTA psp will be set in the same city as in GTA3, liberty(and not the Liberty City from GTA 1 and the GBA GTA). It's suposed to have impresive graphics and the same open ended gameplay as the console counterpart, i dont know how much i should believe this. but i'll play along for now

Me, I did like GTA3 more than GTA vice city. I felt like there was something wrong with the colours and every time I looked at the screen, my eyes would hurt (GTA Vice City). On the other hand, GTA3 IMO was a great GTA game so if they do set the PSP GTA in Liberty City, I would definitely buy it.

You obviously cant read because i said GTA psp will be set in the same city as in GTA3, liberty, wich means if you could read, that it is set in the same city as in GTA3 WICH IS LIBERTY CITY a new york mock up, and NOT the same city as in GBA Grand theft auto game or GTA 1, sheez. I guess you can read but you raced through it fast so you didnt see what i wrote.....atleast i hope you did that!!!. And just for the record i have GTA3 for both PC and PS2(not x box though). Vice and San andreas is also in my collection :)

So if the next GTA is based on Liberty City, what are the odds that this is an indication that we are going to get to see Liberty city in the next GTA game on PS3?

Cause if the story from the PSP stopped right where the story on the PS3 picks up, that would be sweet. Of course the stories have all kind of had something to do with each other, but they were all in different cities, so it is obviously not a lock that the PS3 would be inliberty city, but i just think it would be a cool way to get people to buy both games.

Yeah i totally agree with mcKmas8808 as many different cities would be alot better, especially since the UMD disc is bigger you would be able to put lots of cities on there. It would be better though to make each city the area of Vice though because it takes forever to get from one place toanther on San Andreas!

hey Thegamingdwarf the PSP UMD has about 1/3 the space of a DVD disc like the one for GTA SA. but i do not see liberty city being used again after this, I believe they are using it for the PSP for the fact that it was already made, it was small, and people loved it.
