I have been trying to download some of the new HD movie trailers from the website and have found that the speeds in the last few days has been rather slow.
Just to check that i wasn't just my connection I ran a test @ speedtest.net from the playstation browser and it is still coming back between 4-9 Meg connection.
So the speed is there, but not on the PS site??

yea same here...i get pretty slow downloads from the PS store too...I have a 20Mbps down/2Mbps upload connection and it downloads pretty slow...it's definitley the PS Store....Sony should get more bandwidth on their servers soon though...tired of waiting for a demo to download sometimes...hey at least there is background downloading now (w00t!) so you can just play a game while the downloads are downloading in the background =P

ThanksThis is normal around updates on Thursdays. You have hundreds of thousands downloading the new stuff and looking at the Store at the same time Sony is performing the brunt of their Store and PSN maintenance in adding the new content and rearranging the old. It will get a little better after the weekend is over.

It ****ed me off it took me a hour id say to download the GTHD demo. I have been experiencing slow speeds hopefully they will fix it soon.

I got 800 kbps. 8)
Every download, over 800 kbps, in the US and European stores. It was super-fast.
I wish when you download stuff from the PS Network...it would show you HOW FAST it's downloading just like u would see on a PC...

I have a 2mb wireless (soon to be wired) and downloads from the ps store are fine and always have been
All my downloads have been fine.

I've always had excellent download speeds *touches woods*. I downloaded GO!Sudoku starter pack (177mb) in a matter of minutes. Didn't time it, but it was less tha 5 minutes.

If I only had a 2 meg connection I would be finding the speeds fine, but i don't I have a 10/1 line
Anyways, tried it again this afternoon, the store is certainly faster today.
I want a ps3 the game demo download idea is so awesome

My Store (Denmark) rocks..everything moves fast.. I only have a 2mbit.. but PSN always max it .. unlike most other services.

I find that the speeds on the PSN are very inconsistant. One day, I downloaded the entire GTHD demo in under 5 minutes, and then the next day it took me 5 minutes to download an SD movie trailer.

my connection is very fast, yet the PSN downloads still seem to take from 1-3 hours based on the file size. this is getting veryyyyyyyyyy annoying and it makes me never want to download anything ever.

It's rather strange most people report slow speeds. My connection is not extremely fast, but PSN has always matched my computer in terms of download speed and is usually faster unless I use a download manager on my PC. It has never taken me more then I would say 30 minutes for a download. Oh and if you are wondering I am on a 3MB DSL line.
Just click download and go and play a game while it downloads in the background.
When its done if it takes an hour then you have had an hour on another game. You cant be that desperate to play GTHD that you cant play resistance deathmatch for an hour while you wait.
