how do topics become locked?
do the mods/admins decide which get locked and if they do what do they base this decision on?
Yeah, the admins and mods will lock a topic if it breaks any rules.

admins and mods are the ones who decide weather threads should be locked up or not. they lock up somthing if its a waste and/or nonsense....as in, there are some locked up threads that will say something like PS3 for sale, or some threads have a question and when the question is answered, its locked up cause theres nothing else to say....
its kinda hard to explain i guess...maybe some1 else could add on to what i just wrote..

i understand but to me it seems like for some of them, if it a resonable topic but it might only pertain to a small % of the people then they still lock it up. i mean, for example, can we use my opst on ragnarok. i dont think it was totally pointless, i just wanted to know who plays rag so maybe i could talk to them about it but it was still locked up. i think maybe because they thought of it as spam because most of the people on this forum dont play rag so they might think is not important and its been out for liek a few weeks and all the people who play rag have prolly already posted so they locked it up. i thinks thats how they might think but i'm prolly worng, i just cant think of any other justification to lock it up
btw that was just an example so i'm not b****in( am i allowed to say the actual word?)

and for the bad word...u can do this b*t*hin so at least we can tell what the word is...i was like "mmmmm.....what could that be other than that up there..."

o ok found it...it does seem to be worthy of not being locked up....but we'll see... i made a thread called "The Price Of The PS3!" and it got locked up...i dont want it locked up but the only reason i DONT want it locked up is because I made it...when i read PBM's post (he locked it) i did relise he was right....but still :D

newyz, i think when the mods/admins are looking to clean up the spam, if they see somthing that does not seem like it will be a popular post they will lock it after liek a lttle while (btw i'm not trying to say nething bad about the head honcho's)
btw, unless anyone has nething else to share i dont need for this topic to be open nemore so locking it is fine with me

It's a judgement call. And it really isn't that big of a deal ;) No need to overcomplicate things.
New GC Trailers, Confirmed!

Metal Gear fans can expect to enjoy two new MGS trailers around the 23rd of August.
Kojima Productions will be showing new trailers for Metal Gear Solid 4 and MGS: Portable Operations at Leipzig Games Convention.
The Leipzig Games Convention, a game show hosted in Germany, formally opens on August 23rd this year showcasing media for upcoming game titles and events. The public may attend the show for four days -- starting on the 24th and ending the 27th.
Our very own site administrator, Otacon, will have the privilege of being able to attend the convention, despite recent forum and blog entries stating it would not be possible. He will be attending the convention holding a press pass representing MGS:TUS.

New MGS4 trailer confirmed for Leipzig
Brand new trailers will be shown for both MGS4: Guns of the Patriots and MGS: Portable Ops at the Leipzig Games Convention later this month.
This is according to Metal Gear Solid fansite MGS: TUS, who claim that Kojima Productions will display trailers for the PS3 and PSP titles.
The first MGS4 trailer was shown at the Tokyo Game Show in 2005. It was a fantastic trailer for a hotly anticipated game, but Hideo Kojima, the creator of the MGS series, amazed the crowds again at E3 in May with a 15 minute trailer. Kojima stressed that the latter was running in real time on an actual demo PS3 kit.
On the PSP side, Portable Ops (or MPO) will be the first true Metal Gear Solid title for the PSP. Previous MGS titles, Acid and Acid 2, were not stealth games but, essentially, card games. Graphically, MPO rivals MGS2 and MGS3 for PS2.
MGS4 continues an unknown number of years after the events of MGS2: Sons of Liberty. The game will see the return of a number of characters (which we won't mention here in case you don't want spoilers). MPO will take place between MGS2 and MGS4.
If you're confused, don't worry. Just keep checking PS3Land during Leipzig GC for all the updates.
