Nintendo high-flyer Jim Merrick has dropped some tasty new Revolution details while also talking up Mario Kart DS in a recent chat with Spanish website Meristation.

Initially speaking about Nintendo's wi-fi service, Merrick laid bare Nintendo's plans to set up 25,000 wireless hotspots throughout Europe, empowering gamers to run free through the city streets whilst partaking in a heated game of Mario Kart DS.
Some rare Revolution details were also offered in the interview, such as reaffirming that graphically a "difference will not exist" between the console and its competitors. According to Merrick, Nintendo hopes to launch Revolution in all territories within a 14 week period.

a "difference will not exist" between the console and its competitors. According to Merrick,
I don't think Revolution is will equal to xbox 360 or PS3.
well i dont think they will be so far from each other, i expect it will be like what we are seening today with xbox, ps2 and gamcube, one can only wonder on which place each console will lay, but of course this is pure speculation.

I think it really depends on what you consider "equal looking". The revolution may only look slightly worse when it comes to graphics. But, if they use all the power of the console to match the graphical beauty of its competitors, other areas of the game may suffer. Loading times may be worse, physics may be as good, less enemies/items on screen, etc. Other than that, i still think there will be a fairly big difference between the revolution and ps3/xbox360.

Honestly, I doubt the load times will be bad... just look at the GameCube, there's almost no load times for any game on it... lol
And, although I doubt the Revolution will have the same graphics quality as PS3, it wont be too bad, especially on an average TV screen...
Besides, most Nintendo games use very animated styles and rarely use hyper realistic graphics... even the new Zelda game, while more realistic than its predicessors, is still very animated...
So even if the Revolution isn't as good as ps3, I'm sure all the games will still look beautiful!
We haven't even heard about the hardware specs yet... but, I'm sure Nintendo, knowing what the competitors have, will do their best to give us something worth it.
I haven't been disapointed in anything Nintendo has made thus far, and I'm sure Rev wont be any different.

Nintendo has already stated that if your using a regular TV, which they feel more people have than HDTVs, that the graphics will be pretty much the same.

for one they're using the "smaller disc" with a large processor so loading times will be minimal, i think Physics-wise they'll be on par with the PS3 (i'm saying this because they'll have an Ageia PPU in the Revolution, and because they're not using HD they might be capable of fitting loads of stuff on one screen, but if it's practical for the controller remains to be seen.
I think the only difference will be the controller, and that's it.

Wait, I thought they were using Regular sized disks? I mean, I knew it could play gamecube games, but I thought .... crap.. I'm confused now hah.
So are you sure it uses the smaller disks?

They're using regular-sized DVDs as far as I know, it'll be DVD9 for the Revolution as well.
Steroyd, where did you get that idea from, that the Revolution will use a physics processsor? I hadn't heard anything about that...got a link?

It was rumored a while ago, when someone leaked the "real" spec for the revolution, but these specs has of course never been comfirmed.

The revolution looks very cool. The games usually are animated, although this time around I suspect there will be more Hack and slashes and FPS's. I don't have a HDTV, so it really doesn't matter about to me. And I hope they use regular sized disks. I found the other ones kinda small, like bagels, they made me want to eat em' And they are easy to lose

i want a video of gameplay. that would be iteresting.
LOL, how the hell Big N is going manage to put this amount of performance into such a tiny box ??? Not to start with the heat exhaust and the related cooling solution that also needs room in the box...
If Nintendo will keep with its Revo the size dimensions of the unit shown at E³ than there is no way that Revo will have a competitive performance level in comparison to PS3 and 360...
There is the option to decrease the heat production of the cpu and gpu by using a lower manufacturing design (90nm and below). This is the only way to pack such amount of power into such a little console with a decent cooling effort...at least Heatpipe cooling solution...i doubt that passive cooling will be enough to handle a gpu with a power comparable to the 7800 at least...
