Making Valid and Reliable Reports

With the amount of reports the MOD’s get in our hidden Reports Section, it is important that ALL reports made by people is coherent and more so detailed on the basis of what made the member report such cases in this forum on a day-today basis.

Report Button: Used to identify any issues the forum maybe under going and see to it that it is immediately handled depending on severity of the case reported. Reporting should not be abused of which will be explained in the following criterion:

-1 word reports: troll, sick-em, (insert curse word), idiot, do your job, etc.
-Reporting based on differing views. Furthermore using it as an act of revenge with clashing views of two or more members may have against one another based on disagreements.
- Spamming reports about similar threads and not providing links of the thread posted earlier with more posts generally giving about a good discussion on the OP/TS (original poster/thread starter) topic.

Making these types of reports should be frowned upon since it doesn’t give the MOD’s an easier time in handling the increasing work in this forum. By doing reports such as this not only elongating the time needed for a MOD to decisively execute an action but more so take away time of mending this and other reports as they arise nearly every hour of the day. So some steps in having validated reports be validated and more so reliable in which the member has reported them.

-5-word minimum is important for minor reports such as Signature/Avatar and many other low level cases.. But for more high-level concerns with trolling/flame baiting/insulting/harassing of members in thread topics. A couple sentences (preferable 1 paragraph for these serious cases) should be taken to do our job with swiftness and ease. Tell the issue in detail as you would for a police report, do not leave a detail out if the report you made is that important as the MOD’s again will have to spend an enormous amount of time backtracking through threads and posts to fully understand the situation in its entirety. Highlight parts of which the user may have trolled etc. in the report being made in order to know where the offence occurred so that decisions made by the staff do not leave us spending more than what is needed for an action taken.

This is really important for reporting stealth trollers/spammers from various sites such as TeamXbox and advertisers that come in and out of the forums so that we MOD’s know their point of origin (providing links to the sites they inhabit and more so some posts of such a user(s)) what their inherent goal is of visiting our forum.

-Reporting a member based on disagreements is a sign of weak debating or lack they’re of. Beat them by providing evidence of your platform and more so making a strong argument to back it up. If the post included some form of trolling/flame baiting/insulting/harassing of members then please highlight such cases but do not report them for such futile issues such as disagreements, this is a forum where disagreements are prevalent.

- When members report duplicate threads; they do not inherently provide links to the threads they are referring to. Some things to note if your report is to be taken with the swiftness of such actions:

(i)Please provide the link to the thread. Also if possible provide the time it was posted and amount of posts in the duplicate thread so that a quick comparison can be made with the duplicate thread and the thread you posted to understand which one was inherently first made.

(ii)Please state whether such a thread should be closed if there is no real discussion going on. If asked for a merger with duplicate threads please provide there is a sound discussion happening so that posts/ threads can be merged into topics with cohesive discussion occurring.

For those willing to make threads to incriminate others in the public: don’t. Report their actions but do not pull a vigilante purging of a member by orchestrating a public stoning. Let the MOD’s deal with their actions.

EDIT: If the Admin's permit this to stay, I believe it can be updated on the nature of issues that arise overtime in this forum.
