Calling All Cars Arriving at the PLAYSTATION Store

Play cops ‘n’ robbers on your PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) system this Thursday as Sony Computer Entertainment America will offer the much-anticipated PS3 exclusive, Calling All Cars, on the PLAYSTATION Store. Developed by Incognito Entertainment and overseen by the Spike TV Video Game Awards – 2005 Designer of the Year, David Jaffe, Calling All Cars was built specifically to take advantage of PS3 hardware, running at 1080p High Definition at 60 frames per second for both offline and online gameplay, in either single-player or four-player split-screen.

Other new additions to the PLAYSTATION Store this week include the arcade classic, Rampart, which is downloadable in its entirety, a video for the PS3-exclusive Warhawk, and a trailer for Burnout Paradise.

Below are the details of these exciting new offerings:

Calling All Cars Full Game ($9.99): Calling All Cars is a high-octane, fast-action game of cops ‘n' robbers from the creative director of the Twisted Metal® franchise and the original God of War®, David Jaffe. Take on the role of a bounty hunter careening around a stylish cartoon world on the hunt for criminals on the loose. With more than 10 vehicles and four different levels to choose from, Calling All Cars combines demolition derby style action, crazy weapon pickups, humor, and a throwback to classic arcade games.

Rampart Full Game ($4.99): Defeat enemy ships while preventing your opponent from damaging castle walls! In this classic arcade title, strategy is the key to victory as you prepare for battle, build and repair your territories, and fire away at enemies.

Warhawk Video (free): Learn about air combat and preview your arsenal of weapons in the latest video from Warhawk, the first multiplayer, fully immersive online-only game available this summer exclusively for the PS3 system.

Burnout Paradise Trailer (free): Get a sneak peak at EA’s gorgeous racing title with this new trailer.

Rampage Video (free): Prepare to re-live all of the incredible monster mashing mayhem in this Rampage World Tour video!

It's definately due in May. After the maintenance update Europe should start getting similiar size updates as NA now.

The US store gets updated around 6/7 PM Eastern, which is +5 hours for Britain and +6 hours for the rest of Europe.

EDIT: It gets USUALLY updated around 6/7PM.

I guess that would be a matter of opinion. If you go buy the arcade version of any of these you'll pay pretty close to $600! Personally I like all these little games that don't cost $60 a pop. They're innovative and fun to play. Hell, they beat going out and buying a $20 board game. (Not to say I don't or won't buy a TON of $60 PS3 games)

I paid $600 to play new games, old games, disc games, downloadable games and every other type game I can. This games serve as something to chew on while wating for the big titles. And by judging by your game repetoire, there is no way you've gotten the most out of all those games you have if you're feeling the squeeze already.

you got me there I'm addicted to new games, can't help it, however I still play all the titles I own except for RR7 (was really disappointed in that one), to be honest I'm just waiting for the Lair demo to hit the store, and while the older games are a nice niche for the system, I just feel that I paid for a next gen console give us at least 1 next gen game demo a week, I don't think thats too much to ask for, but maybe I'm wrong, just my opinion.

its funny how everyone blames sony for the lack of demos .. you do realise that other game companies make games and THEY are responsible for wether or not there are demos .. most companies just cant be bother to BUILD demos when they can just be working on the game ... and no .. most have smartened up and dont release very early builds to demo as that then loses them sales because everyone thinks thats how the final game will be , no matter how many times they may be told its a very early build ...

I agree with that, I rented it played it for maybe 20 minutes and was done, as for Calling All Cars is this strictly a 1 player game, or is it a multiplayer and is there online gameplay?

I agree with no spidey 3 demo as well.

Calling All Cars will likely be a better overall game then Spidey 3. Even though it IS only $10. Up to 4 players can play and it IS online. Hope that helps. You can read a review of the game here:

yes. that's not the main reason I bought the PS3, but without an online service similar to XBL or the PSN I would never have bought it or any other 'next gen' consoles.

You're not the only one. I have a H350 Motorola and can't get it to work. This game holds absolutely no appeal if I can't talk smack during the game. I'm gonna be pi$$ed if my headset isn't compatible. I'm also sick of dudes popping all over my screen while playing. **** you Jaffe, and **** you Sony for not coming out with a universal headset..... this sucks.:evil:

I got mine to work you just have to keep it turned off till you are on the online part of the game just like resistance.

I like that you can use any USB or Bluetooth headset not locked up to the 1 headset an can get one you that you like.

All headset work you just need to turn them on at righ time

Shame on GameSpot.

This is a AAA title for the PS3.

The fact that you can just pick up your controller and start playing it like you're a vet is great.

The trash-talking and laugher you get out of this game cannot be matched by any other game.
