None of the concepts being considered have those horrid looking ridges found on both the Xbox and the PlayStation 2.
That rounded PS3 concept isn't being "considered." That's just another concept model made by a very good artist that isn't affiliated with SCEA in any way.
And I'm sure that "Xbox 2" design won't look anything like the real thing, because again, it's just a concept model that has no affiliation with the company, although it's definitely one of the better ones lurking around.

he didnt say that Sony was considering that model he said MS was considering a model that looked closely like that. Same goes for the Xbox pictured. hes just using these artist drawn concept pictures to illustrate what the Actual plans for Xbox 2 are looking to be
The guy sure does sound convincing, Halo 3 could end up being really exciting...I cant wait.

Did you guys not pick up on the whole PS3 will have a HDD thing. :D
Yea for long replies. There is so much misinformation in there, the guy should have stuck to Halo "3" and not gone on about everything Xbox2 which he obviously doesn't have solid info about.

Youre answer wasnt exactly that detailed either PS4L. I didnt read all of Epsilon-Zero's post, just wherever I saw the word Halo, I read around there until it went onto something else. As siren said

It is at all possible that Siren could be saying SOME of this stuff just to throw us off. I mean what company would want their competitor and the end users to know what they are doing before they even announce their product. It’s like poker hide what you have and flash your cards all at the same time. I do agree with Siren when he says that the decision over the HDD and backward capabilities have probably been already answered at Microsoft. There is no way they would just up and change the whole processor 6 to 9 months before releasing the system.
What reason would I have to throw you off? It would just ruin my credibility on this forum long term and it would do nothing to benefit Microsoft.

I agree with you siren that some of the stuff in that long post sounds like it could have been pieced together or was just an educated guess. Some of that stuff even ide thought of before and wondered if MS and bungie were thinking the same thing. Its still a very interesting read though, but its all rumors and speculation until official word is heard from MS and Bungie. :|
I was waiting for him to comment on the parts about the Xbox2, I knew some of that didnt tie in with what Siren was telling us...as for Halo 3, well Siren makes some good points there to. Siren, maybe you should try and find out who this supposed "inside scource" is...that's if he does really exist.
To be honest, i dont think siren could find this emplyee, as i dont think he works in micrsofts gameing division, correct me if im wrong. but IMO i dont think the 'insider' is real.
I realise with such a big corporation how difficult it would be to find an individual..it was more sarcasmn than anything else.
Yea he would probably never tell me even if he did have an inside source.
For the same reason that none of you know what division or who I am. Our jobs are worth much more than our info. Well that is unless Sony contacted me tomorrow ;-)

Following an interview with Sony America's Kaz Hirai, rumors and speculation began to flare on the number of PlayStation 3 units that Sony will launch with and how the Japanese giant will allocate those units. A Sony spokesperson has set the record straight with the following statement:
"Unfortunately Kaz Hirai's comments in the recent GameSpot interview regarding PlayStation 3 production were misunderstood. We are still on schedule to ship 2 million units for our mid-November 2006 launch and additional 2 million units by the end of the year for a total of 4 million units."
Although the statement confirms Sony's earlier announcements on the PlayStation 3's launch numbers, Sony has yet to comment on the PlayStation 3's production status. With a worldwide launch set for this November, the two-time console war winner has little time to waste.
