I have the gamecube, but I have about 6 games, when I have 14 for my GBA and I'm still buying games for my handheal system.I feel like nintendo has faile me in give me the best games.

Is it just me or if nintendo should stop with so many mario games and try to make better games that oldschool player like me can come back too.

NES and superNintendo was the best system and sega had sonic for there system, but nintendo made fun games

now its' just Mario party, which one and two was ok but now with 3-6 and they are sure to make a 7 to 12 like it 's some type of Final Fantasy game.
I'm sick of all the mario games, they need to make a super mario world for the gamecube and not this other stuff

I like nintendo mascots that they have. I just feel like the game themself are not as fun or just made for kids and makes it hard for the older player's to like.

but they keep making most of there profit on the gameboy and now they got the gb DS, which im going to hold out on.I think I'll buy one when the price to drop cause I really want the PSP which is a 1,000,000 times better then the gb DS

Or maybe im wrong plz give me your idea of nintendo and why it seem it's not taking over the the videogame war

Nintendo is the last remaining franchise that still has a mascot, that being Mario. Unfortunately interest in Mario is kind of dwindling and I think that is due inpart to the fact that Nintendo is lacking any more innovation with this series. It's hard to re-invent something that has been around for 20 years. However, I still like nintendo and as far as I see it...if they think they can still contribute to the gaming industry than let them...who are we to tell them when they should hang it up and stick to one thing or the other. Besides we need Nintendo there to insure that competition is still fairly tight...resulting in better quality games and accessories from all 3 companies. Dont count out Nintendo untill they count themselves out...as far as Im concerned they are still a viable competitor in the console industry, they just have to figure out how to win back the interest of the gaming community.

I alwasy liked Nintendo, but it seems as though they forgot to grow up as their consumers grew up. I think that they can still be a force in the console market if they rethink their strategy and start developing more games for the older age groups. A new Mario with the same solid gameplay it had in years past will surely help out the next gen system. I guess it would be cool to see Nintendo and Sega join forces against Sony and MS.

Nintendo then selvs make great kids games, but other developers provide games for the more maturer audiences...

Well Metroid Prime was until Nintendo tried to milk it like everything else they have created.

MP2 sales were abysmal compared with MP's

To be honest that wouldn’t be a bad idea for Nintendo. The only bad thing is the PSP is being released this year so handheld competition would be high. That would also make Nintendo look bad if they bailed out of the console market after 20 good years.

I dunno about the Mascot thing. Xbox has pretty much made Master Chief its own mascot, but even that only has 1 game left or so they say. Its really hard in this generation to come up with something brand new and everybody identifies with to be a mascot. But it still can be done.

I remember when it was jsut the NES and the Sega Mastersystem. The NES had a huge market share because of the ammount of advertising they put out using Mario and Zelda as the two biggest icons. Sega didnt have a real mascot and advertised with interesting gadgets to go with their games.

Then with the Genesis Sega introduced Sonic The Hedgehog and everything changed. They had a an icon that everybody could recognize and they advertised it well. Sega came back and its still arguable IMO who actually won that generation war.

What am i trying to get at with this history lesson? Nothing really  Im just trying to point out that sometimes an Icon that everybody knows and can associate with can change the tide just like that. An icon doesnt even have to be a mascot. It can be a word, symbol, or catch phrase that everyone recognizes. Its just finding and building up that icon to become that kind of phenomanon that seems to be the problem in this newest generation.

Who would you guys pick as the PS3's mascot(s).

A. Rachet and Clank

B. Jak and Daxter

C. Any Final Fantasy Characters

D. No mascot

E: A, B, and C. C with ALL of the Final Fantasy Characters.

They should. Because some people might hate Rachet and Clank but love Jak and Daxter.

That's what I think

Sony has no mascot...and if they did it always changed from crash bandicoot to spyro the gay little annoying dragon

And then to the gay little Watashi... :D

Joking. Spyro is tite. Crash is gay.

But yeah, sony shoudn't have a mascot. Or it'll end up like Nintendo. Mario was cool for about some time but they stuck to that. So they're a little too old school.

yah i gotta agree with the crash bandicoot thing. for a Long while that seemed to be sonys mascot but then they started with the dragon thing that nobody liked so now they have no mascot.

I think sonys mascot is that PS2 symbol and that sound that comes with it after every playstation2 game commercial. Its very recognizable and it just looks cool.
I hope they match that and exceed it with the PS3

You know what your perfectly right MiThRaZoR. With Sony having no mascot that doesn't keep that in one place for years on in. Think about it Nintendo ALWAYS has to make their Nintendo products be in console or handheld with a Mario lauch. Sega ALWAYS needed sonic somewhere around. Without having a mascot people are looking for many different games and Sony can be more open minded on which game to throw most of their attention at launch without the consumer expecting it EVERY SINGLE TIME.

No, I thinnk Nintendo should stay in the home console business as long as it's profitable for them to do so.

Many people do like nintendo products, but since the average age of gamers has risen, consoles which target them are doing much better.

Anyway, last i heard Gamecube and XB were on about the same level sales-wise.

I was under the impression that X-B and PS2 have sold way more than the GC.

Nope the Xbox is beating GC by about 2 to 3 million consoles. PS2 is beating GC by about 60 million.

Anyways, if Nintendo was just handheld, I wouldn't bother buying it! Just staring down at some controller that needs to be battery-powered would pee me off! They would lose a lot of fans and only keep the handheld-players! Would not be a smart move in my opinion!

Just barely a week after Electronic Arts announced that it had licensed Epic's Unreal Engine 3 for its games, new sources have rumored that two games may have switched to the engine. According to computerandvideogames.com, CNN Money reported that Medal of Honor Airborne as well as an unannounced titled currently known as Dead Space are in the process of moving to Epic's technology.

The move by EA to license the Unreal Engine 3 was a shocking one, although perhaps not unexpected, as one source tells CNN Money: “The move is also consistent with EA's approach to most things; try to build internally, and if that fails, acquire or license.”

Perhaps the most interesting part of the article is Dead Space- little is known about the game, although CNN reported that it is a first-person shooter. If true, this will be the second unannounced PlayStation 3 first-person shooter known to be in the works this week.

The PlayStation 3, Sony's contender for next-gen console war winner will launch this November 11th in Japan and November 17th in the rest of the world. Other EA games planned for the PlayStation 3 include Need For Speed Carbon and Battlefield.
