I hope Heat takes the Bulls out so that I don't have to deal with all the Lakers fans kissing Rose's ***-hole on their status updates.
Edit: awesome, just awesome

Bring on those Miami Heat...let's deny Lebron James and company an NBA Championship GO MAVS.
For this Finals I'm kinda torn. It would be sad to see Dirk lose in the Finals to the Heat both times. Then again I've been wanting to see Lebron win a championship for a good while now. My heart is rooting for the Mavs. But in my head I'm thinking the Heat will win. Either way it should be a great series.

I'm definitely rooting for Dirk and the Mavs. He's a hell of player whose window is closing. This could be his last opportunity whereas Wade and James will probably win a couple titles in the near future. Both Dirk and Jason Kidd deserve this, for all they've contributed to the sport.

All the heat-haters still didn't give Heat the credit. Instead, I read that the refs will not play fair and will side with the Heat. Of course, this is coming from my butthurt Lakers friend. He just can't live through the day without saying something bad about the Heat.

I hear ya man, I have a few friends who will not give em the credit they deserve. Im a lakers fan myself, but lebron is my favorite player in the league... I honestly didn't see this team making it this far, yet I don't downplay what they have accomplished.
I only see them getting better after this postseason regardless if they win it all or not.

Rob, i was right, one friend said,"So, the LAKERS lost in the second round, but the Bulls went to the conference finals", and the other one said,"at least the Bulls didnt get swept. Why cant they just accept that the Bulls lost, i accepted that the Lakers lost, so its their turn to accept defeat.

Like I said, stay humbled. The Lakers are the Yankees of Basketball; they might be a title away from tying the Celtics but they are still tied if you count the NBL trophy. I'm not going to call you a bandwagoner Lakers fan because I could tell you're not one of those Laker fans that that doesn't stop talking about Kobe this and that. There's a difference. The guys you encountered are Bull's bandwagoners because they live in Jordan's past. The thing about that Lakers sweep, they didn't have the will because Pau Collapsed since the first round. It happens, the Heat were swept by the Bulls in 2007. The Lakers just had a bad match up, the Mavericks are like the Boston Celtics the difference their "Big Three" are white. Those Bulls fan don't realize that they were almost swept out of the ECF, they were just fortunate and got the upper hand in Game 1 with that blow out.
Remember, Jerry West owns the NBA logo.
Kareem is the NBA All-Time scoring champion.
Magic Johnson, has a statue as well.
Kobe has been in 7 Finals, one more to tie Jordan and he's still with the Lakers and probably has 5 years left.
Ignore them.

Ignore them. Thanks for the advice, i can can ignore them, until they said that Derrick Rose is better then Kobe (they were not joking)and that Rose is the next MJ. If anything Kobe is the next MJ, i mean Kobe isnt the best player ever, but he is still a great player. Also Paul did terrible in the playoffs, i think they should trade him for Zack Randolf.Bynum and Randolf will be a force to be rekond with, and then on top of that they would have Kobe. They're not going to trade Zack Randolph. Besides, he has Marc Gasol in Memphis so they're not going to ruin their depth. And the rumors you're hearing about Rudy Gay traded to another team is false. Memphis is going to get stacked from now on. The Lakers, they're off-season might be surprising. I'm thinking that you guys will probably be getting Tracy McGrady since he's free this off-season. The Pistons are going to have to rebuild soon.

The stupidest thing ever was when The Pistons traded Billups, i mean they were a real threat back then, but now they are awful, they need to spend some money and get a few decent players.

Mavs in 7
No 6, because once the Mavs get going there is no stopping them, unless Dirk gets into a little "accident", if you know what i mean.
I think the Mavs not having home court advantage will actually benefit them because I think they can take one out of 2 to begin with and they could probably win 3 out of 3 at home but if they don't they can always steal one out of 2 on the road again.

Okay I've really embraced that NWO thing that's associated with the Heat. I like it, very catchy. I hope the NWO wins but I hope Lebron doesn't make another cocky comment like "we're gonna win not 2, not 3, not 5, but 10 championships in a row". Don't get cocky, Lebron. Beat the Lakers and Kobe's PPG record in the finals and then you can be as cocky as ever.

Yeah, as I said, I'd like to see Dirk win a championship. It would be kinda sad to see him lose to the Heat both times he made it to the Finals. But my head is telling me that Miami is going to win this series. I just can't foresee a team with both Dwayne Wade and Lebron James losing a seven game series. Too much late quarter firepower to overcome.

Sudden death is the best... like march madness. Least IMO, makes the competition way more suspenseful and exciting for neutrals. Unless my team is in the playoffs (****ing pistons), then I don't watch many games. But I watch a lot of march madness because every game is exciting.

No way! That is way to fast, thats the only thing that i dont like about football, every team deserves a second chance, not you lose one and your done.

Thats what I like about football haha. Its far more exciting when everything is on the line. It becomes less of a game when you play 7 times, more of a calculation. Sure the "better" team may win in the end, but it ruins the true spirit of competition.

It is more exiting to have a winner in one game, but overall the football season is really short, it goes by a lot faster than any other sport. Then we have to wait about 6 months for the football season to return. I just think that fans deserve to see more football.

Well that is why I got Futbol, and you got basketball haha. It was a text sent to me. Then I heard on Sports talk Radio that it was some guy who said it was Lebron meeting a homeless person after the game last night. lol
Sad news, though, is that the Sports talk show is ending today. A piece of my soul left along with it.

Remember last years Finals? Celtics up by 3-2 and guess what happens...ohh yeah, Kendrick Perkins went down. I'm not going to focus on that though lol. I will not be at home to watch Game 6 since I'm out of town :(
This is most likely going to be Dallas's championship, I hope there isn't a lockout though :(

Just saw the Sony press conference for E3 via PSN download. Wow, Kobe is a ****ing douchebag!! "It's not accurate" when he was getting owned by the Heat but it was accurate when he scored a 3-pointer. No wonder he's the most hated player. He's a cocky douchebag. And they say Lebron is bad. The only reason he is so cocky is because he has a great career, woudnt you be cocky if you won 5 championships, an MVP and 2 final mvp awards? I mean with a career like that im sure that he expects to win every season.

Least Kobe didn't put them out, you wouldn't hear the end of it, if I was a heat fan the mavs would be the team i would have wanted to beat us out of all the other teams in the playoffs, to hold your own against a great coached veteran team that swept the champs is pretty big accomplishment since 90 percent of your roster is new and with a new head coach.

When all is said and done I think they got a little too cocky and they thought they were invincible after leading in the first weeks of the playoffs. But then Mavs hit em' hard. Mavs won
Sorry Rob, but Mavs won, 105 95, i just wanted to see the Heat lose becuase they were so cocky when they got Lebron and Bosh.
Sorry kiddo, I was out of town, sailing at the caribbean. I was fortunate to watch game 6 on the cruise I was on. There was so many Heat and Maverick fans. It felt like if I were in the arena. Good win for the Mavericks, I really wanted the Heat to win but also I didn't want the veterans on the Dallas side to go ringless. The Heat had their chances to win but it just wasn't there time.
Every team is cocky, I believe the way how the Heat handled their interviews during the press conferences had class in them. You're just reading too much from the media, you should remember my earlier posts about it. If you want to bring up the Dirk's mock, its true, even before they released that tape of them. I thought it was attack on the media, but that backfired on them. This is now called "Reverse Psychology", which was the move that came from the exact media from Dallas. Notice it wasn't released on ESPN or FoxSports first until it was shown.
There's a lot of people these days that aren't clairvoyant of how things work. There are the bandwagoners and the Haters, yeah that I do agree. That's every where these days, even fans that don't have sympathy for their own local teams because their franchise aren't championship potential or they don't have a great market. That when you notice they are wearing Yankee caps, Laker Caps and especially Bull's Cap.
Also, some fans out there only give Lebron negative reaction because his "Decision" was designated to their team, but that's sports these days, so its nothing new. Lebron could have been a Maverick as well. I bet most of you guys had forgotten about that. Now they are cocky you say? Well, that's what happens when you're happy. He makes more than all of us. If he retires without a ring, he will be remembered for every thing and still get a spot into the Hall of Fame.

I dont like fans that claim that they are fans, then as soon as their favorite team loses, they trash them. And say (for example) They would say: Bulls suck, why cant they win bla bla bla, etc. It is really annoying, because that always happens with the Super Bowl it is really annoying to see fake fans only watch ONE game just to see who wins the whole season. Be a real fan, and watch almost all of the games of your favorite team. learn more about the team. If not, dont bother watching the last game and stop being a follower. It went really well. It has incredible quality and class. Enjoyed every part of it and gladly made me much more experienced.
Those fans are every where and yeah, I'll admit there are in Miami as well and if the Heat do get some titles. It'd be relevant to the fans of the game although they don't live locally.
I was fortunate to be able to live through this season with its ups and downs. I have watched almost every game and during my mornings their press-conferences. It's been a great ride, when I start working though I will not be able to go through them. Lesson is, don't trust the media, just wait until it happens.

FYI guys, I'm not a bandwagon fan, so let's clear this up right now. I've supported the Heat since 2007 and so what if they lost a championship to Dallas. It's not like Basketball is being banned forever from being played. There's always next year, the year after next year, and then the following year to win. What pisses me off is that this loss gave the heat-hate wagon more ammo. They're gonna talk so much **** again when the season starts with the first game of Miami. I will STILL wear my Miami Heat in public. Some ******* at a sports store I went to yesterday was like "why do you want heat gear? they lost to Dallas man" I told him I don't care, I'm still their fan whether they lose or win. I ****ing HATE the image Miami Heat fans are being given - that we're all automatically bandwagon fans. As if Lakers don't have bandwagon fans that only support the team because of Kobe Bryant alone, and were former Chicago Bulls fans in the 90's only because of MJ.

Requests for a name change are typically granted in most cases.
Artest would put his new last name on the back of his jersey.

None taken. I know they sucked.
They're all not that bad. They just need a better coach and an athletic big man. We'll see how Mark "Hand Down, Man Down" Jackson will do (and I'm not expecting a 50 win season... hell, not even 40).
Now if this was 11 years ago, I would want 25 robots on that team. But they actually have some good pieces.
Steph Curry - Kid is going to get better and better.
Monta Ellis - Quickest player in the league right now. Could use a bigger 2. Maybe get Andre Iguodala for him.
Dorell Wright - Solid 3. More of a bench guy, in my opinion. Could use an upgrade, but I ain't mad at his game.
David Lee - Good for 20/10 a night. Overpaid, but he's a good hustle guy.
Ekpe Udoh - Love his defense. Post game ain't too shabby. Needs to rebound more though.
And then they drafted Klay Thompson, got Jeremy Tyler and that dude from Hofstra, Charles Jenkins. Hopefully, Jeremy can be their poor man's DeMarcus Cousins and Klay a bigger Steph Curry.

Team Wade went for the win. Team Lebron could have had the game won if for wasn't from Carmelo's clutch three-point shot. When overtime was being finished, Team Wade was leading by four points and Lebron made a three-point shot from half court. Either way; hence, Team Wade won.

Meh, the Raptors aren't going to be that good this year so w/e. I am only happy it's back because we have a really young team and a season (even a short one) would help the team develop. I can't wait till next year when we get Jonas + top first rounder.

Well, I don't know about my favorite team, the Lakers. They obviously have the potential to go to the playoffs and/or go all the way, but if they play like they did against the Mavs in the playoffs, then I don't know about their chances. They have a lot of areas where they need to improve.
I don't pay much attention to the Raptors since they don't do to well anymore, sorry.

They're going to have to adjust new chemistry but if they keep certain pieces then it'll be quicker than last year. Miami is going to look younger than last season.

I also heard that what the Lakers are trying to do is nearly impossible, they don't have enough talent to trade to acquire both players, it's like one or the other. So, I think, if the Lakers got Paul, they would trade Fisher and Artest. To get Howard, they would most likely trade Bynum along with Gasol. Which guy is it worth getting more, Paul or Howard?

Yeah, they can only get one. And I don't think Fisher and Artest are nearly enough to get Paul lol. We're talking about the best PG in the world here. At least two of Gasol/Bynum/Odom will have to go.
And I would rather get Howard than Paul, since Paul has a knee problem that is only going to deteriorate with time. Howard is still a spring chicken.

Actually, I forgot about Deron. He's the best.
As for Rondo, I'll have to disagree. He may be the best facilitator, but he has no shot, which negatively impacts the rest of his teammates. However, Paul did have a down year last season (only 15 points), so it's closer than I thought.

Just because he has five championships doesn't mean he's the best. Every year is always a different story and you have to admit. Lebron is definitely gifted, the problem with him he seems to be stressing. If the Heat had gotten the number one seed in the East, he would've been the next player to win his third consecutive MVP which will be after Larry Bird I guess. Just to let you know, the NBA is going to get tougher by time. As of this time, Bill Russel is still the NBA "God".

As for the Paul deal, the Lakers probably know what they are doing. It is a detrimental deal for the Lakers but heck now you have one of the best point guards. But how could they have gotten Dwight if the CP3 trade went through? I don't think the Magic would give away Dwight to the Lakers for a package centered on Bynum. And if they did, then there must be some type of vast conspiracy that is dead set on having the Lakers be awesome. lol
Now that it's shot down though, it's a different story. The Lakers will probably go after Howard with Gasol and Odom/Bynum.

The NBA owns the Hornets, which means all the owners have a stake in the team. The owners put it up to a vote and so Stern veto'd the trade. Stern does have the power to veto any trade he wants, but I think we'll only see this happen in situations such as these.
Basically, the Hornets need to a get a damn owner already!

Why is it so bad to have a few dream teams in the NBA?
Here's the e-mail Dan Gilbert (owner of the Cavs) sent to Stern:
Commissioner,
It would be a travesty to allow the Lakers to acquire Chris Paul in the apparent trade being discussed.
This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets.
Over the next three seasons this deal would save the Lakers approximately $20 million in salaries and approximately $21 million in luxury taxes. That $21 million goes to non-taxpaying teams and to fund revenue sharing.
I cannot remember ever seeing a trade where a team got by far the best player in the trade and saved over $40 million in the process. And it doesn’t appear that they would give up any draft picks, which might allow to later make a trade for Dwight Howard. (They would also get a large trade exception that would help them improve their team and/or eventually trade for Howard.) When the Lakers got Pau (at the time considered an extremely lopsided trade) they took on tens of millions in additional salary and luxury tax and they gave up a number of prospects (one in Marc Gasol who may become a max-salary player).
I just don’t see how we can allow this trade to happen.
I know the vast majority of owners feel the same way that I do.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….
Dan G.

According to Sportscenter, Big market teams disliked the trade and complained , those teams were: The Knicks, and the Celtics, so their opinion also helped them decide to block the trade. The commentators on Sportscenter think that the trade was fair, which I think it is, I mean the Lakers got rid of two people for one player!.
I feel bad for Gasol and Odom. The Lakers are like, "Well, we don't know when you will be traded, but it could happen any day, but you're part of the Lakers team, for now."

Ask yourself, why are the Lakers are always on the spotlight? Look at the Celtics, Lakers need a 15 year drought without contending.
I wouldn't mind having another "Dream Trio"; notice I didn't say "Dream Team". Any other teams besides the Celtics and Lakers, that's a total of 33 championships for themselves meanwhile the other half belong to other franchises.
I don't know if anyone notice, we're going to have 66 games in the 66th season.
Trade talks are back on!
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217249/Hornets_Lakers_Rockets_Resume_Chris_Paul_Trade_Tal ks
The Hornets, Lakers and Rockets have resumed talks in search of a way to complete their three-way trade for Chris Paul, according to sources.
"All three teams are engaged," one source says. "Not sure if it will work."
On Thursday, the Lakers agreed to acquire Paul in exchange for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. Houston would acquire for Gasol while sending Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic and a first round pick. The Hornets would receive Odom, along with Martin, Scola, Dragic and the first round pick.
PIETRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! About time we finally got a wing that can fucking defend! Now, I just hope Bargs can't get better... (kinda doubting it).

The NBA owns the Hornets, so if most of the owners don't approve the trade, then it makes sense. If the Hornets had a real owner, this probably wouldn't have happened.
Anywho, it looks like the trade is going to happen anyway.

Broke down again.
I can't believe they traded away Lamar though. Supposedly he requested for the trade to happen.

He probably didn't feel appreciated anymore, due to the attempted trade. At least he's going to Dallas instead of New Orleans though.

Looks like Chris Paul is going to LA but not to the Lakers. Let's see if this trade works out!

1. I feel bad for Lamar, unless he did request a trade.
2. I will be the maddest person in the world if the Clippers get Paul, it would be B.S
