View Full Version : What surprises will Sony have at E3?
Everyone here at SCEA is working very hard and is dedicated to pushing the development envelope to show you not only new stuff for games like Heavenly Sword (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Games/Heavenly_Sword), Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (http://www.us.playstation.com/Uncharted/) and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Games/Ratchet_and_Clank_Future_Tools_of_Destruction), but also a few surprises we have up our sleeves that no one has seen. You can check in here for updates as we head into the show, and I will be sure to report back once E3 begins.
I found this very interesting from Jack Trettons interview, it seems to point that Sony has some things in the works that no one has seen before including the press...
We have also heard lately that people are working on secret projects inside sony's inhouse team...
Plus a few times i've heard Sony say "I wish we could tell you what we know now" to the media and when talking about developers, from Phil Harrison once and also another top Sony exec. It seems to be pointing towards something big that is undisclosed that no one but Sony and the inhouse team know about? What could it be? Has anyone else noticed this?
Could it be anything to do with the company that Sony formed called Cellius aswell?
Little Big Planet was innovative and totally unheard of what else could they have up there sleeve?
 I hope the announce the release date for GT5 so they can delay it!

2) More on PSEye
3) The Agency
4) And plenty more goodies.

Wardevil. Simply put, the world ain't ready for this game. Now that you have Sigma running at 1080P & 60FPS, this game will shoot down all PS3 enemies and make them cry.
Mark my words!

Killzone 2 will really be the primary focus for a lot of people I think. MGS4 will have it's standard attention stealing display, but KZ2 is where Sony's bread may be buttered, as unfair as it may be to every other title that is coming. KZ2 will be heavily scrutinzed by haters and fans alike.

anyone know the name of ID's new multiplatform game?
one word: killzone.
now more words to be able to post that.
i just want to see cod4 killzone is obv going to rock but the pics in psw uk mag for cod4 look amazing betta then killzone just need to knw if they cgi or realtime im a big fps fan p.s my laptops become redundant ta sony
stop the speculations, this was a good post to point out we might see a few surprises this e3 which is good, but please do not speculate what they might be, you might get your hopes up to high, and then be disappointed when they don't announce what you are looking for.

Sorry for having another Hype Train leaving the platform, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had to do with network services. Something like an iTunes store or even IP-TV. We all know Sony was looking into these things, but nothing has been released/showed so far.

Not too much longer to wait I hope they announce that they decided to keep GT5 prologue going so they can have a few years to do GREAT GREAT things with GT5 like allowing us to race 24 hour races online with 2 hour chunk leagues and the ability to build our own race cars to use(somewhat how in the older ones we could do a racing Mod), but I want to have my own 350z that competes against the Motul version online and what not with our own race teams. By teams I mean if we were racing with like 5 classes at once allow teams of 5 one person racing each class for the team so when it was over we could see who won each class and what team won overall with the best average finish. I know that is a huge leap, but I have wanted a racer like this forever already.
Have Square said whether or not FFXIII will be at E3?

I hope they add Sixaxis sensitivity to the list of things to come in firmware updates. It seems like if you tilt it just a little, you go flying. It needs to be toned down a lot.
Let the speculations begin!
I'm not getting my hopes up... much like everyone who does and then blame SONY for a lackluster showing when they shouldn't of expected anything to begin with.

The way he describes the announcment: "a few surprises we have up our sleeves that no one has seen" To me this suggests that the announcement will be of greater magnitude than Home or LBP, so theres no point trying to guess because he is not talking about Killzone or maybe not even a game. Theres no point guessing because you're definitely not gonna get it right, Just wait and see whats announced and appreciate it.

Killzone 2, The Getaway, 8 days, 2 days to Vegas, Wardevil, Seeds IP, Team ICO IP, anything from Cellius, Heavy Rain, Coded Arms, FFXIII demo, new touchsense controllers... any of these games could be displayed at E3.

I think a pretty funny surprise would be if they showed NOTHING about Killzone. I think that would cause a universal uproar within the gaming community, XBox and PS alike. It's amazing how much leverage this one title holds 8)
On a more serious note though...I hope we see something new and innovative related to PS3 functionality. Home was a big one months ago, and I'd like to see how they can expand their already versatile machine.
As far as games...I'm not sure what more I'd like to see to be honest. Maybe a new IP from Team Ico, that's all I can think of that would really grab me at this point.
a newly designed PSP...one can hope right

I don't understand why Killzone is so anticipated. The first one was a below average FPS and the second one was an above average PSP shooter. Should we really expect that much from Killzone?

Sony bought them after the 1st game so sony devs are helping and it has a big budget.

Supposedly,it's over 20 million USD and with over 120 developers working on it.

I think most of us are looking too much at games.
It could be services as well, like IP-TV, iTunes (like) store, instant messaging, youtube vids, etc.

Ok. Now I see what all the hype is about. While its no guarantee that it will be good, looks like the effort is there, and now I am anticipating it a little more.

getaway, 8 days, wipeout, ico 3... endless possibilities!!!!!
New wiImote-like controller and a few games to take advantage of it will be the big surprise for the PS2. Ps3 compatibility will go along with it as well.
PS2 price drop as well.
Next gen game price to drop $10
I think most of us are looking too much at games.
Maybe so, but then again, that's what most people buy games consoles for. All these peripheral services just cloud everything, which is why Nintendo are doing so well with Wii - games come first. The sooner SONY and Microsoft realise this, the better. I have a PC for everything else, just give me some great games!

I'd like to see more games like Folklore implementing the SixAxis correctly. That would make it more than just a wireless controller via BT.
I hope they announce that they decided to keep GT5 prologue going so they can have a few years to do GREAT GREAT things with GT5 like allowing us to race 24 hour races online with 2 hour chunk leagues and the ability to build our own race cars to use(somewhat how in the older ones we could do a racing Mod), but I want to have my own 350z that competes against the Motul version online and what not with our own race teams (etc etc). You and me both!
I have several posts over at GTForums from a year or more back which sound very much like yours. I swear, it seems like MS's Turn 10 read my posts because I see hints of my dream Gran Turismo in Forza 2. And because Forza 2 is out, I do expect some kind of showing from Polyphony to stir up the waters and remind the gaming public who did it first. They may not, they may hold off until the fall to catch everyone off guard with something mindbending, but a race fiend can always hope. ;)
new rpg projects. at least 3 rpgs a year
